A reduction or absence of bile salts can cause the stool to become yellow or pale. Bile salt production can be reduced due to severe liver disease such as hepatitis or cirrhosis. The passage of bile salts into the intestines can be prevented by blockages of the bile ducts due to inflammation, gallstones, or external compression. Pain, especially in the right upper abdomen, fever, nausea, itching, and yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes can also occur with these conditions.
I am a healthy 24 year old female but for about 2 months now I have been vomiting what I think is bright yellow bile every couple of days and am very nauseous for most of the day. I don't have insurance so I am trying to get some answers any way that I can. I know this is a very broad symptom, but it normally happens in the mornings and evenings. I am not pregnant and have been eating healthy. Any advice??
ULTRASOUND can show gallstones, but it often miss them, so CT would be needed, or HIDA SCAN which shows gallbladder function. Yellow stool can indicate lack of bile in the stool, which is due to bile flow blockage somewhere in the biliary tree (stone, stenosis). Lack of bile in intestine causes that fats are not absorbed, and this causes diarrhea. Vomiting is often in gallblader/biliary duct disorders.
NOTE: BRAT diet is NO longer recommended in diarrhea.
For the past few months i have been periodically vomiting yellow stuff. It is usually in the mornings as soon as I wake up to use the restroom. I also never have a normal bowel movement. It is always, always diarrea. I often get hungry, but don't have an appetite to eat..If I do not eat anything my nausea lasts for hours. I am always tired. I have taken pregnancy tests that result in a negative, so i know i am not pregnant.
Before that happens vomiting of bile juice (green-yellow coloured vomit) is a symptom. It happened to me after a total colectomy operation over five years ago and I was kept in hospital (with a nasal gastric tube to suck out the stomach contents) until the symptoms had passed and until I could hold down food normally.
If you've eaten very little and your vomit was yellow, watery and horrid tasting it was probably bile (stomache juices) just means you had nothing else to throw up. It's quite normal, if unpleasant, even when not pregnant.
I have a 9 month old spayed lhaso apso that within the last 2 weeks has started vomiting yellow bile only during the sleeping at night hours or early in the a.m. She's extremely healthy with a good appetite and bowel movements. She's very energetic. I feed her Beneful by Purina. She does not throw up during the day. We recently took her to the beach in california and she ate some sand, could this cause the problem? She has all of her current vaccinations.
I'm 9 weeks and the other day i was vomiting yellow bitter stuff. The vomiting began at 6 in the morning and it seemed as if i was vomiting every half-hour. I tried eating something but it came right back up with more yellow stuff. Is this normal? Should i be concerned?
Welcome...The wanting to be left alone is illness....The yellow/foamy/Vomit is stomach acid/bile....It comes from not eating....The brown/red Diarrhea is blood...The dry/warm nose is Fever.....
This is either an Infection and needs oral antibiotics or a Parasite, which is treated differently......You need to try to get into the Vet today if possible....Lack of eating and drinking causes dehydration which is serious.....Especially in a puppy...They can't take it very long!!!

AFTER, JUST A COUPLE GLASSES OF WINE I STARTED VOMITING AND YELLOW LOOSE STOOLS WITH THE VOMITUS EVENTUALLY TURNING YELLOW. IT TOOK TWO DAYS WITHOUT EATING TO RECOVER AT HOME. MY MD SAIDS ITS JUST STRESS/GAS. HOWEVER, MY FATHER(ALCOHOLIC) AND SIBLINGS (NON ALCOHOLIC)ALL PASSED PRIOR TO AGE 47 DUE TO CIRROSIS OF THE LIVER. AN EGD AND COLONOSCOPY REVEALED SLOWED MOTILITY AND BILE REFLUX,GASTRITIS 10/10 AFTER GALLBLADDER REMOVAL. LIVER ENZYMES WERE WNL OTHER THAN ELEVATED PTT.
