Vomiting water dogs

Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting water dogs

vomiting

20797736 tn?1510713181 I don't think vomiting is breed-specific! Vomiting once or twice to clear his stomach would be pretty normal. Vomiting 5 times in 6 hours is a little more worrying. You say he's still drinking? It could be that he's got into a drink/vomit/drink cycle, which can sometimes happen to dogs. Yes a lot of vomiting can leave them dehydrated, but if they guzzle water it is likely to come back up.
Avatar f tn Often, you never know the cause and I really doubt it is the water you are using, esp if you are washing everything. My dogs have drank tap water for years and we have very hard water here that will leave deposits in the bowls. I guess it might be possible but I doubt it. I would look more at have you been to any parks lately? Has he been boarded? Any chance he got into something around the house? been around any other sick dogs???
Avatar m tn After a heavy weekend of drinking, the following day I had a couple of hair of the dogs then ordered a take-away curry. I ate the food and feel a sleep for a few hours afterwards. When I woke I went to bed but felt really uncomfortable with the curry sitting in my stomach. So I went to the toilet and forced my self to be sick, gagging quite a few times, then large amounts of food started coming up, then about a hand full of red fresh looking blood came up.
1360237 tn?1351816181 if my dogs r having vomiting , I add pedialyte to their water to prevent dehydration. Also , if they r having diarrhea , vomiting , the vet told me to give them boiled chicken ( no seasoning ) , and mix it in w/ white rice - instead of their dog food for a few days . Also , when one of my dogs had to have a few teeth pulled ( he is 10 years old ) I added chicken broth to his regular food to soften it & he loved it !
Avatar m tn You might want to ask for a barium study. It could show if there is a blockage or something getting in the way of his food passing through. Are you treating him with Pepcid? Is he losing weight? There is a prescription appetite stimulant for dogs but you need to find out what's causing the vomiting first. A 2nd opinion from another vet can't hurt. I wish you good luck!
4487133 tn?1355332064 ve been giving him tap water. The water is the only variable here. Would it be an allergy to the water? Florida water does taste different to me... Another thing is I have another English bulldog same age who is drinking same water and eating same food and is fine. He's dewormed and has current vaccinations. What to do? Go to vet? Give bottled water?
Avatar n tn My dog is vomiting. I have a prescription for Ondansetron . It is 4 MG. Can I give it to my dog? He is 13 and weighs 7.9 lbs.
507241 tn?1225491785 t letahargic like she was and is much more lively but I feel so bad for her keep vomiting everytime she drinks water
Avatar f tn Often in cases like this, where the vet has done the important tests and has found no serious underlying cause, it is best to starve a dog for 24 hrs (but always provide fresh water) to allow the digestive tract to settle down. Then, assuming the vomiting and diarrhea has subsided, provide small amounts of food. Boiled skinless chicken or cooked white fish and boiled white rice (not brown rice, as dogs find this hard to digest) is easy on the stomach.
Avatar m tn If anyone is feeding Purina brand of foods it would be a good idea to read these consumer reports..many dogs and cats are getting ill! http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/ralston.
Avatar m tn My 7 month old siberian husky have vomiting today since in the morning, she dont have diarrea, only vomiting, her vomiting is white with mocus like flu, she dont want to eat but she drinking water, however, after the drinking water she vomiting again, i am super concern because she is very hyper dog and today she is looking so sad, i took her to the vet but the vet want to do some test on her and that cost a lot of money so i cannot afford.
Avatar m tn While phenergan is usually prescribed for people, our vet tells us it can be used safely for dogs. Since I have terrible nausea and vomiting troubles myself, I always have some in the house for the occasional doggie illness. There is always something else to try, so don't be afraid to ask. And don't forget to post back and let us know what your vet says.
Avatar m tn It is not that uncommon for dogs to vomit yellow bile, which is usually a sign of an upset or empty stomach. Dogs will often graze on grass then throw up to help relieve an upset stomach. This can often be remedied by feeding smaller meals more frequently but not more food. Have you changed foods recently? This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside?
Avatar f tn Ondanestron, which is the generic for Zofran, is a great medicine for dogs that are vomiting. You can purchase it from a human pharmacy (with an RX from your vet) and it is also generally cheaper than Cerenia. It clears the system in 8 - 10 hours and my dogs are generally over the vomiting and ready to eat at that point. Give it a try - talk to your vet.
Avatar n tn is it ok to give 7-8 lb chihuahua 4 mg dissolving tablet for nausea/vomiting (keeps vomiting her water every time she drinks), otherwise she seems to be feeling ok, just having trouble keeping it down 2day, @ 15 mins after she drinks just vomits w/o notice (no hacking like they usually do when they vomit) just comes out seemingly uncontrollably. We already gave her Pepto & she vomited that as well.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply. No vomiting, swimming, dogs, lethergy. Nothing. Got her some "doggy motilium" form the vet so the "pooh" has stopped. But very strange!! She's a generally healthy dog and VERY well looked after. My one concern was poisoning, there is an individual who may very well do that kind of thing(sicko). But if it were poisoning, would she have other symptoms???
Avatar f tn This started a couple of days ago so if the dogs are drinking water and no longer vomiting - keep giving them water and try to get them to eat something mild like the rice you have tried. I don't know why dogs like plain white rise, but I can say my Westie does and if he refused some white rice that would mean something was wrong. I don't know why cheese would cause a problem, but it seems you now know on thing not to feed them.
Avatar n tn Today- 2 days later he has started with watery diahrea and some vomiting. He is just throwing up water. He can keep water down most of the time but has thrown it up a few times. Other than these symptoms he is playful, seems ok. We gave him 1 tsp of pepto a few minutes ago but it hasn't been long enough to see if it worked. Is this something we should rush him to the vet tomorrow or is this pretty normal and should we give him 24 hours or so to recover on his own?
Avatar f tn You may want to put salt in the dogs water becuse the toads may of had leeches on them!
1544053 tn?1328691992 No, the salt water makes a dog vomit. I mixed salt with warm water and my dog drank some on her own, then I squirted a bit down her throat. It took not much at all for her to vomit. I did this under the direction of my vet. I'd go ahead and call the animal place you menitoned.
Avatar m tn if u have 2 ask this than u should c a vet. yes it can be normal, but lack of energy high water intake can be anything...
Avatar n tn Even if there had been a big bowl of water in his kennel it may not have helped, as sometimes dogs can enter a vomiting/drinking lots/vomiting cycle, which can lead to dehyration anyway. I am so sorry this happened though. Take care now of your other dog, as he will be missing his buddy and brother too.
1741877 tn?1315623664 Has she eaten something unusual? Has she drunk water from streams, creeks, puddles? How is she generally? Healthy -or what? It's difficult to know what might have caused her tummy upset. It might be something very simple and it will quickly pass -or it might be a sign of some other illness...hard to tell. The best thing to do is withold all food, even the tiniest treat. But allow her access to as much fresh water as she needs.
Avatar n tn Humans produce bile after we eat. Dogs produce it before which can be one reason dogs often vomit in the mornings. You might try feeding a few small meals a day. Will she eat her food with a little canned for and water? If not, try cooking up some chicken or lamb and rice and feed that a few times a day. Hope this can get resolved. Please keep us posted.
495284 tn?1333894042 I know she was trying to bite the pine needles yesterday and caught her drinking the water in the tree stand which only contains water, nothing else. After searching on the internet i see that pine needles are poisonous to dogs. Can i spray that bitter apple spray on the bottom of the tree or get rid of the tree? I feel bad cuz i never thought about a tree being bad for pups. She is starving by the afternoon and then she eats.
