Avatar m tn Now I have one ques in mind that, does the virus can be identified with in one month? I am little confused knowing that the incubation period of the virus is 120 days. What is that mean?
Avatar n tn I recently met a women who i have been dating a little over a week; we have only engaged in kissing as of yet which began the nite i met her. Our kissing is intense and i recieved a small bite on my lip on the 7th day i knew her, the next day it seemed like a small sore. She informed me that she is HSV-1 positive but believes it is Herpatic Whitlow and she has never had any "cold sores".
Avatar f tn The closer the site of infection is to your brain, the shorter the incubation period. For example, a bite to your face, head or neck will have a shorter incubation period than a bite to your arm or leg. The length of the incubation period is important because it is the only period in which treatment can be successful. So as long as you have no symptoms yet you can still be vaccinated and have nothing at all to worry about long term.
Avatar f tn I took a test after 10 months of the possible exposure, I know that antibody can be tested out after window period, and that is because the amount of virus and antibody are both high in your blood... Once in the incubation period, it is said that the amount of both the virus and antibody will decrease significantly for many years, so, my question is, can a HIV antibody test negative result be trusted during this period...
Avatar m tn The incubation period for rabies is 1-3 months or in rare cases UP TO a year. You should be fine. Here is a link to World Health Organization. This should put your fears to rest. http://www.who.
Avatar m tn The incubation period (the time between initial contact with the virus and onset of the disease) for hepatitis B ranges from 45 to 180 days. Diagnosis of hepatitis B infection is based on the raised levels of HBsAg and IgM. For convalescence it takes anywhere between 6-9 months, depending on your antibody titers. Once the infection has resolved, the enzyme levels will normalize and the IgG antibodies will be present in the blood stream. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn If your sick, you probably picked up something while in the hospital and given time for the incubation period you had to have picked it up, not showing symptoms during the incubation period until now.
Avatar n tn So, this is a tricky question, if she has hpv it will be in her throat deep in the throat, for the virus to be transmited it should have finished the incubation period, not to mention saliva is very hostile, so,30 minutes are not enough for incubation and shedding, hpv is a skin infecting virus, so all it takes is skin to skin contact, but again your chances are quite slim. Plus you have an immune system that also protects you, I wouldn't worry about hpv.
Avatar m tn The incubation period (the time between initial contact with the virus and onset of the disease) for hepatitis B ranges from 60 to 150 days with an average of 60 to 90 days. The length of the incubation period depends on the amount of virus to which a person is exposed. Exposure to a large dose of virus results in a short incubation period. Symptoms last for several weeks but can persist for up to 6 months. Like zellyf said upper right quadrant pain can mean different things.
Avatar n tn My last exposure to this group of people was roughly 3 weeks ago. Last week I got tested and I was negative for mono. I know that mono has in incubation period before showing symptoms, however, I would like to know if it is possible to detect mono via a blood test even during this period of showing no symptoms. How early can mono be detected? Should I get retested?
6939574 tn?1390927849 Symptoms of hepatitis B would be jaundice, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fever. The incubation period (the time between initial contact with the virus and onset of the disease) for hepatitis B ranges from 45 to 180 days. Regards.
Avatar m tn This incubation period is dependent of the number of virus particles a person is exposed to. Infection with very few particles results in a longer incubation period." Usually people ask this question to get the anxiety under control and feel reassured. I am not sure there is a certain answer. Neverthless if a person suspects he/she came in contact with the virus, there is no turning back. Either one's body will fight it off or become chronics.
Avatar m tn There is no such thing as a incubation period in either adults or children with HIV. There is a window period were test may not pick up the virus, this is up to 13 weeks. In terms of HIV leading to Aids, this is on average without treatment is 7 to 10 years.
Avatar n tn Still curious about primary GHSV Type 1 incubation period.....
Avatar m tn But till now, i decide to get rabies vaccine because i heard somewhere told that the incubation period can last for some years. My doctor also encourage me get vaccine although it's very low risk. Avatar m tn this went away, and about a week ago (about 8 weeks after my tonsilitis) a couple of white spots appeared in the same place, i read that this can be a sign of hiv, so i went to get sti tested again and she said id still be in the incubation period. what would be chances i have contracted this virus as im very nervous? this was a one off and the girl said she was clean.
Avatar m tn Is it possible that HCV was still in the incubation period and that the PCR was not able to pick up on the virus at that time. I have had some abdominal pain since. Or would the PCR RNA still be able to pick up on the virus during the incubation period. I guess long story short can I count my PCR RNA at 12 weeks post along with the negative Anti test which I also had done at the same time conclusively negative or not? Thank you.
Avatar m tn thank you blu.. im really paranoid that it affects my line of work.. what about the >1 year incubation? like the 20 years in the news?... what is the typical incubation period really?
Avatar m tn My question is that since I am well past the incubation period (3-4 weeks) without any herpes symptoms (as per the doctors) can I get on with my life with the conclusion that I have not contracted herpes? I would like to get a type specific check done but not sure of a clinic that offers thes same in UK.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if you could clarify the 6 weeks and 3 months reasoning behind the blood tests. I thought that the incubation period was 2 - 12 days... This discussion is related to Oral Herpes?.
