Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting virus in england

vomiting

Avatar n tn This June while I was in England I became extremely sick, sicker than I have ever been in my life. I was throwing up, had severe diarrhea, heart palpitations, and was unable to sleep. The first doctor I saw thought it was just a virus and gave me some anti-nausea medicine. The medicine stopped the vomiting, but I began to lose a severe amount of weight. Within a few weeks though, I was vomiting and had severe diarrhea all over again-- i didn't even make it to the bathroom one time.
7961159 tn?1395775468 is, my immune system seems to handle it just fine, this is not a big health concern, but (especially as an ex-medical biochemist) I am CURIOUS! Is it a known virus/family of viruses? Some normally harmless pathogen that lurks in my system all the time but only occasionally flares up? What?
Avatar n tn Day one my 7 year old child had fever, stomach pain and vomiting... last 24 virus.... but since them with exception of fever every 3 days she weaks up during the night vomiting and having stomch pain that last 24 and reocurring in a pattern of 3 days....I just took her to the doctor... I was informed that is a virus and I should treat only with antibiotics... I wonder if it is not necessary having blood test done...

Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced severe vomiting and diaherra around 26 weeks? I'm not able to keep anything down.
Avatar m tn This happens due to changing pressure in the canals of internal ear. However, if you are feeling nausea and vomiting on changing your position, it can be due to postural hypotension (fall in BP while standing or sitting up from lying down position), compression of cervical spinal nerves, or due to internal ear problems. Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.

4862685 tn?1360175651 Thanks for the info. I feel better now, knowing the cat isn't in a life-threatening situation. Although, too many cat treats can upset a cat's tummy and possibly cause loose stools. After a few days, kitty will be just fine!
1769355 tn?1319204162 I know they have a trial site in Wales, but I'm sure there are other trial sites in England. If you don't get any luck with your GP's office, I would just google trials for Hep C in England. I've been on one of those sites and they have phone numbers, or contact information. They'd be able to point you in the right direction for other clinical trials. They're so slow in the regular old doctor's offices in England...
1770029 tn?1325802355 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.
Avatar f tn I imagine a virus would be vomiting during the day and maybe a temp? Also would it go on for 3 weeks? Doc has not mentioned testing anything, just referred us to childrens hospital. Don't know how long we will have to wait on that.
Avatar n tn But one night I was drunk and I picked this chick up at the bar. She was from Vietnam and spoke good english. She said she lived in England and her english language abilities backed it up. We were having sex and the condom broke. She said not to worry that she was clean. We continued unprotected for about 4-5 minutes. I was so worried when I became sober. As usual. I even went to the doctors for a blood test about 3 weeks later. He said I was negative and not to worry.
Avatar f tn Does anybody know about paternity leave in england? my boyf is allowed 2wks unpaid but they wont tell him when it starts. ive read it cant start befoee you giv birth so i wondered if i was in labour days before i gave birth could they make his leave start then. also his days off are different every week.
176495 tn?1301280412 about the only time I like living in New England...Trees are starting to turn, getting some warm days (unfortunately not warm enough for shorts...they've been put away) and cool crisp nights. I look out our garage back door and over to our left is a large maple tree that is just starting to turn...Beautiful orange colors mixed with the greens that haven't changed yet..against a gray sky (today)...what a beautiful sight..
Avatar f tn ~ HHV-6 is a virus, like Epstein Barr Virus, that many people test positive for. However, in MS and CFS patients.... we seem to have high frequencies of this virus and many CFS researchers believe HHV-6 plays a role in both of these conditions.
Avatar n tn My child was wetting the bed, extremely thirsty all the time and was vomiting; his vomiting, we think, was contributed to a stomach virus he had at the time. We took him to the ER due to dehydration -they did a blood chemistry and his blood sugar was 399-they immediately admitted him to ICU and he was put on IV insulin. He's been a diabetic now for 3 years-he's now 9. He's has handled it amazingly well!
Avatar f tn So, it could be the stomach virus. You're still sick even if you inhibit vomiting. Glad that worked for you! The other possibility is that perhaps you had a touch of food poisoning but with your house having a stomach virus, likely you did as well and while the meds you took (don't take someone else's meds, take only what is prescribed by a doctor for you personally)--- stopped vomiting, it doesn't mean you didn't have the virus and other effects of it.
Avatar f tn Then three days later on the Friday my husband started vomiting and having diarrhea every 10 minutes or so I brought him in and they gave him the same thing and sent him home. Saturday he had a fever of 102 so I brought him back and they kept him overnight. They did multiple blood tests and stool cultures but all they found was a slightly elevated white blood cell count and his stool culture came back clean so they aren't sure what it was.
