Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting toddler pain

vomiting

Avatar n tn Not wanting to eat is not as much of a concern as not drinking is - a child can dehydrate very quickly and dehydration can be very serious, especially in a child. Dehydration will also happen a lot faster if the child is also vomiting and/or has diarrhea or a fever. Please do not hesitate - take your child to the ER. Please let us know what you find out and how your child is doing. Best of luck!
Avatar n tn My son is 3 yrs old. I took him last Sunday to the pediatrician for vomiting. Prior to that I took him 2 weeks ago for cough and chest congestion. My son has had a bad cough for over 4 weeks and starting on Sunday he was vomiting, naseous, complete loss of apetite. The pediatrician drew blood, ordered a chest x-ray and put him on a nebulizer treatment. He said that his chest was congested and the vomiting was probably due to that or a small virus.

Avatar n tn I am hoping someone can please help me. I have been taking my son to a pediatric gastroenterologist for 9 months or more now because he was refusing to eat and had periods of recurring vomiting (not cyclic vomiting) and very low weight. He was diagnosed with Noonan Syndrome (via genetic testing) and the Gastro put him on 30mg Prevacid for GERD. Nevertheless, the vomiting and not-eating continues.
Avatar f tn Its tough when they are that little. Pedialyte will be of no help unless they have vomiting and diarrhea. As for meds, unless they have an ear infection or something bacterial meds won't be of any help. There are a lot of viruses going around now, including influenza... you should take them to be checked out by the pediatrician just to be safe.

Avatar f tn I have a 2 yr old that started with vomiting 2 weeks ago. Afetr 3 days of vomiting and stomach cramping almost mainly at night, he was admitted to the hospital for dehydration and testing. the Dr ordered blood testing, urine testing, and xray. He seemed to get better and testing showed nothing out of the ordinary. He was released on the third day, but began vomiting as soon as we got home. He was readmitted on the next day.

Avatar n tn He may have a digestive problem. Has your pediatrician looked for food intolerance?.
Avatar m tn It all started a few weeks ago pretty suddenly. He had intermittent abdominal pain throughout one night and I assumed it was due to constipation. In the morning, I was on hold with the pediatricians office when I looked over at him and he had appeared to pass out. After managing to arouse him just a little, I ended up calling 911. It turns out his glucose was only 40 and he had an elevated white blood count (27,000). He was admitted and evaluated for intessuption (sp?
7677085 tn?1395374075 Okay I know this is the wrong forum to post this on, but my little girl (eighteen months today) has puked about eight times in less than twelve hours. i checked the toddler forum and the pediatric forum and they rarely get any replies, so I'm begging for help from mommies on here! I took her to her pediatrician and he told me what to watch for (danger wise). I'm looking for comfort techniques and advice on how she should sleep tonight.
Avatar f tn t tell if we are dealing with behavioral issues or not, because he will go a month without vomiting and then go for 2 mos vomiting more than twice a day. When he is in a cycle of vomiting, he throws up sometimes more than 4 times a day. Worst times seem to be in the morning and at bedtime. So, he throws up in his bed quite a bit too. He has GERD. He has been tested for gastroenteritis, had done an upper GI, a CT and also endoscopy with normal results.
1399155 tn?1280624978 i was wondering if its normal for a toddler to get blood sugars over 200 and not be a diabetic ? My son is 2 and we have had on 4 separate occations of blood sugar over 200 and one was over 300 , it is starting to concern me. I have heard that only diabetic should go over 200. yes i do wash his hand before testing my mother and a few cousins are diabetic so i have been testing him once and a while. he now is also drinking and peeing alot.
Avatar f tn I opened it up and noticed there were mice droppings so i just wiped it down with baby wipes and put my toddler in and went on with our day. When we left the mall, i noticed there was still a few more droppings in there. I’m terrified we could have caught hantavirus. I googled symptoms & i have naseousness & awful body aches & the ER told me there’s no testing & to come back if symptoms get worse. I live in Chicago il and i know it rare to catch that but there’s still a chance.
Avatar f tn I gained more with my second... Why ever . lol. Stretch marks stayed the same, except going further up in some places where I had some already. If that makes sense. Don't think I got any new ones. I'm 38+1. I also thought I'd be gaining less since I have a very active toddler..lol. and I've had nausea and vomiting pretty much just as bad as during my first pregnancy. But nope... :) I guess it's always different for anyone.
Avatar f tn She has not been in her crib for over a year now. She's been in a toddler bed since last June, without issue, and we have never had any problems with the toddler bed, until last week.
Avatar f tn Is side back pain normal so early during pregnancy? I dont remember.
Avatar m tn My nearly 2-year old son (with a history of eczema) has had odd bumps on his body for a couple of days. They're prominantly on his arms, legs and diaper region. Surrounding the raised pimply bumps that scab are tiny goosebumps. Again, this is all only occurring on his arms, legs and diaper region. I've used Aveeno bath wash, lotion and a light amount of % hydrocortisone, plus bought more fragrance free/dye free laundry detergent. I use Aquaphor, and have dressed him in loose clothing.
Avatar f tn Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, intermittent upper belly distention, intermittent severe right upper quadrant pain, neck pain, pain between the shoulder blades.

Avatar f tn My daughter has had proectile vomiting since birth that was written off as reflux until 13 months of age. When I told the pediatrician that she refuses to swallow solids (baby food) at this age, he referred to a GI doc who diagnosed her with eosionophilic esophagitis after an endoscopy. Since then she has been on a elimination diet and is NOT allergic to milk, nuts, soy and wheat. We still have to rule out eggs and shellfish. She is also on Prevacid daily.
Avatar m tn Most small-bowel obstructions cause waves of cramping abdominal pain. The pain occurs around the belly button (periumbilical area ). If an obstruction goes on for a while, the pain may decrease because the bowel stops contracting. Continuous severe pain in one area can mean that the blockage has cut off the bowel's blood supply. This is called a bowel strangulation and requires emergency treatment. Vomiting. Small-bowel obstructions usually cause vomiting.
Avatar n tn Nausea, heartburn, appetite loss, headache, vomiting, acid reflux, gas, frequent bowles regular or what have you, cramps, baby does not fit! Anything else please feel free to share.
