Avatar f tn I am not trying to scare you but a stroke is rather serious. Do some research and if you think the symptoms match up force her to see a doctor. whether she believes in them or not this could save her from having a more serious stroke, which could do anything from paralyzing one side of the body or even death. I'm sorry to scare or worry. As I said, I may be wrong, this is only a best guess from a college student, who works with children and took a first aid and cpr course.

Avatar n tn I'm a 37 year old male diagnosed with Adenoma 3 years ago after being hospitalized for a stroke. Over the past 5 months I've been having tingling and numbness in my hands and face. My stomach hurts daily which also result in daily vomiting. My primary physician and emergency room doctors are unable to determine the cause of all my symptoms just recommend one medication after another. I'm scheduled for another MRI. Could all these symptoms be related to my Adenoma?

B/P 225/120 ER said he did not have a stroke ( according to CT scan. Can't do MRI due to stents which he got for a 95% blockage to his heart 4 yrs ago.) Cardiologist switched BP meds and B/P going down well on that now.He' still very fatigued, difficulty with spacial perception, walking etc...The Nuero Doc can't see him till May 1st. Any idea what's up with all of this and what kind of treatment we should pursue?
Avatar n tn Hi i have been vomiting for around 12 days now. this came on suddenly. I am very active, and eat fairly healthily. I had to take to my bed for 4 days as was very weak. The doctor visited twice, and said ihad Malaria symptoms but test was negative. All blood tests have been negative so far. 7 days into 'illness' i had 2 fainting spells followed by a TIA (mini stroke). all tests so far have shown nothing abnormal, heart and chest scans etc are clear.

His symtoms upon admittance was vertigo, nausea and vomiting. He has since recovered remarkably fast, up until a week ago when he was admitted again. Avatar f tn A friend of mine just had an endoscopic cervical discectomy and as a result suffered a vertebral artery occlusion. Less than 24 hours after being released from the hospital he experienced dizziness, weakness in his right side and numbness in his face. He returned to the ER where they admitted him and performed an MRI that showed the occlusion. Basically, he had a mini stroke or tia but Dr's said no damage to the cerebellum. He was released and ordered to take aspirin.

6359965 tn?1393488636 Hi, after stroke based on neuronal damage, some symptoms can persist. The headaches could be the side effects of the medications you are taking. Migraines are intense headaches sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting and altered visual sensations. The others are those caused due to brain disorders, disorders of the eyes , neck or ears to name a few. To find a cure you need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime you can take OTC Ibuprofen pain medication.
Avatar n tn Rehabilitation during the hospital stay after stroke generally refers to all the measures taken to prevent a recurrent stroke and complications (in the hospital) while ensuring proper management of general health functions, mobilizing the patient, encouraging resumption of self-care activities, and providing emotional support to the patient and family. Avatar m tn What I would be worried about is stroke. Can she talk normally? Is she confused? If you ask her to repeat a sentence does she slur her words or does it sound normal? Does she have a bad headache? Can she lift the arm that is numb? If she can't talk normally or can't lift her arm and so forth then she may be having a stroke and you have to take her into the Emergency Room right away. Diabetes can increase her risk for a stroke as well and also peripheral neuropathy or nerve damage.
