Avatar n tn Both atelectasis and emphysema are included under COPD because of collection of air in alveoli and collection of air in tissues simultaneously, but they have their own physiological pathology hidden behind. Pathophysiology of both the diseases are different and they have different evaluation for concluding diagnosis. If this definition does not clear your doubt, there is more clear way how to differentiate emphysema from atelectasis clinically.
Avatar n tn I did read up on it, online, at the library, everywhere. I know all about the pathophysiology and lack of treatment... but they never really talked about the clinical course and what to expect. If you have any experience seeing this problem and have some sense of the course, I would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks.

1755089 tn?1376053555 Sleep paralysis is associated with sleep that may occur in healthy persons or may be associated with narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnagogic hallucinations. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occurs during REM sleep. When considered to be a disease, isolated sleep paralysis is classified as MeSH D020188. Some evidence suggests that it can also, in some cases, be a symptom of migraine. Do talk to ur Dr about this..
Avatar n tn Etiology: Increased pulmonary resistance often develops over time, reversing left-to-right shunting to right-to-left shunting. Deoxygenated blood enters the systemic circulation, causing symptoms of hypoxia (low oxygen level to heart, other organs and skeletal muscle. Hemodynamics consequences: VSDs may develop congestive heart failure. The extra blood flows from the left ventricle through the right ventricle to the lungs and back to the left atrium and on to the left ventricle.
Avatar f tn The pathophysiology is not yet known exactly but it is theorized it has something to do with vasoconstriction and DIC.
Avatar n tn This is what I've got after some google-ing. Not that under Pathophysiology, it mentions about reactivating by sunlight. 4481194 tn?1355334538 I think this research info tells it pretty good as to how and y those with ne medical condition may have anxiety- Abstract Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a group of related genetic disorders of connective tissue presenting with joint hypermobility, skin extensibility, and tissue fragility. Although the pathophysiology of EDS is increasingly understood, the psychosocial effects of having EDS have not been examined. We psychologically tested and interviewed 41 adults and 7 children with EDS.
Avatar n tn The last 2 decades have changed our understanding of the pathophysiology of migraine (Goadsby 2005 in Headache J 2005 Apr;45 Suppl 1:S14-24). The traditional view that migraine is a vascular headache due to dilation of extra- and intracranial arteries is too simplistic. Migraine is currently thought to be a neurovascular disorder with vascular changes occurring secondary to neural activation.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you have had all the right tests to re assure you that you don't have anything dangerous. They I read what you are writing above is that you don't have symptoms until you sit down and have time to think. That is often the picture of someone with anxiety and anxiety related chest pain. We don't understand the pathophysiology of why this happens but it is common. The best we can usually say is that you have non cardiac chest pain.
Avatar f tn hi! I agree with the post above it can be one of your lymph nodes there thats swollen. Since only recently the mass appeared! I've heard in pathophysiology class from my lecturer that his benign tumor do fluctuate in size if he's under stress and through the day. remember the number of chemical process the body goes through daily. Monitoring this and record any changes or pain in the area. Try to reduce your stress levels as well...

LVEDP is independant of LVEF (pumping functionality). For some insight and a statistics from a study of in-hospital mortality.
Avatar f tn My first trimester I stayed sick. Vomiting and migraines. Try eating some crackers before you ever get out of bed. I've heard that works pretty good. Other then that talk to your doctor there is nausea med that doesn't make you drowsy. You can also ask your pharmacist as well. There are also these things call sea bands. They do look like sweat bands for your wrist but they actually put pressure on some pressure points in your wrist that help with nausea. Good luck to you.
