Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting mucus sick

Avatar_m_tn Hello Matt, The symptoms that you are having i.e vomiting consisting of mucus mainly is pointing towards the diagnosis of post nasal drip, acid reflux or food allergies. Post-nasal drip (PND) occurs when excessive mucus is produced by the sinuses. The excess mucus accumulates in the throat or back of the nose. It can be caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, or laryngopharyngeal acid reflux. It can be enhanced or sometimes even caused by allergies.
Avatar_n_tn We have a male rottweiler who in the last month or so has started vomiting mucus, sometimes with a small amount of food in, no blood or anything untoward. He hasnt eaten anything he shouldnt and apart from the vomiting he is fine in himself. He does a slight hacking noise like he is clearing his throat and he seems to throw up after he has been laying down.
Avatar_f_tn I am 35 weeks 4days and don't know what to do. No fever, no vomiting. Just a really nasty cough with sinus infection. Hot shower helped for a short period if time but it all cane back. I am coughing so hard it hurts my back and upsets my little boy. Any suggestions?
Avatar_m_tn Again it doesn't matter what I eat, I tried gluten free, FODMAP diet, dairy free. Basically, every time I eat mucus appears and I'm sick. Any help appreciated!
390388_tn?1279639813 Then I started to feel better but seem to be plagued with this odd coughing out of no where, that always leads to being out of breath and then the mucus comes up and vomiting starts. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
4487133_tn?1355335664 My 15 month old English Bulldog has been vomiting for about 6 weeks now (daily, sometimes twice daily). If it is after a meal, then she throws up the entire meal. If it is not near a meal, then she throws up a large amount of bile colored drool. She eats only her recommended amount of Innova-Weight Control dog food twice daily (given to her in small amounts at a time) - No table food at all. She has been taking half a tab (37.
Avatar_m_tn Sometimes this doesn't help and I'm sick anyway. Occasionally mucus won't appear and I'm just flat out sick (especially if eaten unhealthily or broke meal routine severely.) This is my only symptom however I have a general 'unwell' feeling all the time. Like something in my system isn't right. Every meal ends up looking like this: http://i.imgur.com/LuNESQO.jpg Your comments will be compensated in buckets of gratitude. Thank you. Thank you.
Avatar_n_tn When i lay down to sleep i start to cough uncontrollably then i vomit a clear mucus like substance then after i catch my breath i can fall back to sleep this has been happening for like a week what's wrong with me? I don't have a fever and i also don't recall being sick.
Avatar_n_tn But anyhow when i started having this problem i developed a problem with the gaging to clear the mucus which leads to vomiting. I always have this sensation to vomit(because of the feeling of mucus in my throat/lower nasal cavity), more so when in a stressfull situation or when i dont feel like i can gag ro hawk up mucus i become very panicy, which brought on panic attacks.
Avatar_f_tn In all 4 times at the end I got blood with mucus. Its jus not streak of blood,Just more. Has anyone experienced this. If so what you did to overcome.I called my nurse she asked to goto ER. But I think I am not that sick to goto ER.
Avatar_n_tn What do you vomit in the mornings, look/taste...
Avatar_m_tn repeated attempts to vomit, usually without result, or bringing up only mucus or foamy mucus. Distress, eating or attempting to eat twigs/grass/debris/ (in an attempt to induce vomiting probably) That is one crazy vet who is not prepared to wait until Tuesday to be paid, when there is a dog in distress! I would by-pass that vet perhaps, and take your dog to ER or another vet if possible. Say that you THINK the dog's stomach has flipped, and that if it is the case it is an emergency.
1086217_tn?1256699689 When we got a new vet, she immediately treated his ears, and no more vomiting. It can also happen if your dog has bad allergies, from all that mucus draining into the stomach. You might want to check your dog's ears for a lot of wax or redness, and watch for a lot of scratching or biting to indicate allergies.
Avatar_f_tn Hi,I'm 17 years old and during the past month every few days or week I'd feel nauseous and start vomiting and get diarrhea for a whole day and I wouldn't eat until the next day. And after a few days the same thing would happen. So can anyone tell me what's wrong? is it something serious??
Avatar_m_tn I need help, my 4 months old Cocker Spaniel/Bichon Frise puppy is very sick. It started Friday 04/23 following her final puppy shots and first rabies vaccine. She has been vomiting, not eating, not drinking, and is very lethargic. She does not have diarrhea or a temperature. My vet says it is not a reaction to the vaccine, but it seems too coincidental. We've been in twice to the vet this week, with no improvements.
Avatar_f_tn During the past 3 yrs I have lost 120lbs I have no appitite and will start vomiting and feel sick alot. It is usually in the am and after I eat. My stomach swells and have extreme pain. I have been to the emergency room approx 1 every 2 months for dehydration but I havent gotten any reason why its happening to me, they took an x-ray and showed nothing but thats all. My vitamins are low even with taking alot of supplements(vitamins).
Avatar_f_tn He coughed some during the day, but at night he had to take Robitussin or the coughing and mucus kept him awake. About 5 months later he went to his cardiologist for a checkup and it was decided he had mild congestive heart failure. The doctor put him on Aldactone 12.5mg daily. The cough went away immediately. But then something else happened. His nose started to run a lot and his voice started getting horse. The nose runs most of the time.
Avatar_f_tn 8, blisters on my tongue, serious joint pain and painful swallowing and nausea but not much vomiting. All during this time I had blood in my stools. I know that blood in stools should be normal after a hemorrhoidectomy, but originally the bleeding had stopped after about 2-3 weeks after surgery, but now its back. I passed my recent sickness off as a virus although I was sick for over ten days.
Avatar_f_tn On Monday the 21st we took him to the hosptial where the doctor did an exam on him even examening his belly while he was vomiting and seeing the vomit contents. The doctor did a CT scan as well as blood work and all came back normal with no abnormalities in sight ( huge relief) Blood work as well was normal but still not an answer to why he is vomiting on and off for two weeks now. Unfortunately we left with good news but no news on what is causing him to feel sick.
Avatar_f_tn I gag on mucus in the morning and it feels like its coming out of my brain lol.
Avatar_n_tn That night my son started screaming in pain and vomiting brown mucus and no one in ER could help us. Today is Nov. 30th and today my son was sent home from being in the hospital since Nov.
Avatar_n_tn I doubled up on the albuteral and that seemed to really help. But I am still coughing up mucus, and have a very bad headache on the top of my head as well as the temples and above eyes. My sinus are bothering me. In addition to all these symptoms, I have what seems to be a bladder infection. Frequent urniation, pressure, pain on right side of stomach, and lower back. BUT no burning or itching.
Avatar_n_tn She just seems so sick and she's been sick on three different days now. The vet - when I called them the last time she wouldn't eat (two days ago) they said that as long as her stool didn't have blood she was fine but this seems like very not fine behavior. Please help me.
Avatar_n_tn I have read several messages from people with similar symptoms such as mine - cough mainly in AM with mucus, again in the evening. I plan to try some of the suggestions such as taking an antihistamine/decongestant and a remedy for GERD (although I do not have symptoms of that particular problem). I have been hacking for about 3 months, have been to the doctor who has given me antibiotics along with cough medicines. Seems to help a bit but then I'm hacking again.
Avatar_n_tn I am a 27 yr old female with 3 children (I am sure I have hemorroids), for about the past 6 months I have noticed blood and sometimes mucus in my stool. I had my gallbladder removed about 2 years ago, so I have diarrhea also. Lately, I have had some nausea and cramps. So I was wondering, what does this sound like? All my symptoms are as follows: blood in stool, mucus in stool, narrower stools, cramping, nausea, diarrhea. Thanks for your help!!
Avatar_f_tn then one day she got real sick, started vomiting and would not eat and I had to carry inside and outside. So I took her to the vet They ran test and found nothing wrong, Well as days went on she got worst,Blood all over her rectum, vomiting all the time, So I took her back to the vet, at this point he suggested I put her down. I decided not too. But then she got even worst, and would cry at nights, I would stay up with her all night. But nothing helped. So on June 1st I had her put down.
Avatar_f_tn k so my dog is 6 months old she was sick last week throwing up yellow bial she wouldn't take ice cubs or drink or eat anything, brought her to the vet she got a shot and was fine for two days after being treated she was sick again, throwing up Monday couldn't keep anything down again than yesterday we limited her food to 4 small proportions through out the day, she was perfect kept it down playing etc..
Avatar_f_tn I have been sick now for 2 days after only taking 1 500mg pill. I have vomiting, diarrhea...how long does it take until it is out of my blood stream to where I am feeling normal again? I feel like I have the flu!! Its aweful!!
Avatar_m_tn I wonder if it could be that the cough suppressant has side effects and that might have caused his vomiting? Did you mean that the vomiting started after he was taking the cough suppressant? Is the cough suppressant called "Temaril-P" ? If so, it can cause stomach upset. The way around this is to make sure it is always given with food. Has he had heart checks? You said his X rays and blood work are good. Did the vet check for everything? Including renal function?
Avatar_n_tn I have a foster kitten who has recently become very sick. She is 6-8 weeks old and is the only one showing these symptoms out of a litter of 4. About 6 days ago she began vomiting her dry food immediately after she ate. She also seems to get very mucus-y and congested after eating any dry food (currently eating Royal K9 - baby-Cat). She seems to dry heave and have a difficult time breathing. This lasts for a few minutes, and she eventually vomits up the few kibbles she managed to eat.
