Avatar n tn Has anyone evercome across anything like this? My cardiologist siad this is very rare to see in utero. I have another scan next week to see how much it has grown. My first baby has down syndrome and a hole in her heart, I have been told that this is no way connected and is most likey a connective tissue disorder of some kind. we are having a test done on the baby for marfans syndrome but this will take a month for the results and could be inconclusive.
Avatar f tn Also it can cross the placenta and cause baby to have a bowel movement in utero. This can make baby extremely sick and even cause death if ingested.
Avatar f tn My son has been "diagnosed" with GERD, although he has had no testing. He had an upper GI that was clear. He has vomited since birth, eats very little food, yet is at the 100 percentile for his weight and 98 percentile for his height. He has given prevacid, I gave it to him for 10 days and there was no change. I took him back to our doctor, who put him back on it.
118225 tn?1278654940 My boy was totally lazy in utero and is now one of the most active ones I Know. My 11 yr girl was so energetic in utero but laid back after birth. This baby is totally an aerobic queen. Wonder what the outcome of her personality will be. She is strong omg. If she doesnt eat on time I can expect a a lot of forceful kicks and punches lol. 3 more months yayy.
Avatar f tn Seriously......I should never have nicknamed her a diva in utero...and still crying!!! <3 you girls!!!!

Avatar n tn In my opinion, children are less likely to be exposed to hepc. There is a very small (5%?) chance it can be passed in utero to the child from an infected mother.

Avatar f tn for example The mom had a positive drug test in febuary will that be in the babies system for a drug test when born? If the new baby test positive it will fortunatley help out My case, but it is unfortunate for the unborn child. Thanks to all who reply.
Avatar f tn Why not task your Dr about taking it? Then you can know the 'dose' and wether its safe or even recommended?
Avatar n tn I have no experience...but I would think that happens in utero.
Avatar n tn Having said that, if it is truly just a 12 millimeter ventricular septal defect (VSD), there are a couple of things to know. First, this should not cause any problems in utero, so following it with repeated ultrasonographic studies does not do anything to help your baby. It should not lead to any problems prior to delivery. Second, a 12 mm VSD is a large defect, whether it is in utero or post-natal; it is most assuredly not small.
Avatar f tn I know right. they cry when they get startled from loud noises.
5265255 tn?1375320805 t because it could possibly make your baby pads a bowel movement while in utero. Plus there is a great chance it will make you sick with vomiting and diarrhea.
163305 tn?1333668571 The transmission of hcv in utero is actually about 5% - 15% (higher in mothers believed to have developed hcv as a result of blood transfusion or IV drug use, higher in mothers co-infected with HIV, lower in mothers with no known risk factors at the time of their own infection). I think one could very well have one child infected in utero and another child, or other children, not infected.
Avatar f tn I have a 6 month old baby who was diagnosed in utero with an enlarged kidney. It has been closely monitored, having regular scans to see if there has been any added pressure on the kidney. Anyway, he had a scan done 4 weeks ago and it remained the same, no worse no better, but then today he had another scan and it shows that the dam of liquid has gone down 7mm in size. I am happy and shocked that this suddenly happened.
Avatar f tn I am so scared this means my son has liver failure and that he will need a transplant or die. We lost his twin in utero due to my having Factor V Leiden and his cord being clotted up. My son has no jaundice, and other then eczema and allergic rhinitis (cats and feathers) and his occasional vomiting, he seems healthy. How worried should I be? I have a history of anxiety, so I feel tortured right now, thinking I will lose him.
Avatar f tn ve had 2 girls and 3 boys so far (2 were m/c). It DEFINATELY looks like a girl to me. As one of the other posters said, In utero and even for awhile after girl parts are swollen and puffy looking. If it were a boy you would see 3 circles, your pic is definately a girl!
Avatar f tn It can cause diarrhea and vomiting and lead to dehydration. It can also cause baby to have a bowel movement in utero which is dangerous.
Avatar f tn I also had a subchorionic bleed but at 11 weeks and they saw blood in utero when doing an ultrasound ... all I can say is I'm okay now and am 29 weeks. Hang in there! I bled for what seemed to be eons...
Avatar f tn Tubal pregnancy is common in post tubal ligation. Yes, it could be in the tubes. What are your doctors saying?
Avatar f tn Oh and my last baby, the one who almost never got the hiccups in utero....he's now almost 18 months and he's had the hiccups ONCE that I can remember since he was born. I think some babies/kids are just more prone to them than others.
2169449 tn?1358489923 In some women it causes extreme diarrhea and vomiting. It can also cause baby to have their first bowel movement in utero and meconiun aspiration is potentially life threatening. So, in my opinion, it's not safe.
Avatar f tn and they did many studies on him in utero...there was nothing wrong with him at all, but he had water around his heart. I went into labor, and he was born first....then my daughter. We NEVER knew what happened to our son....and I was just washing dishes, and saw this n the tv....and just fell apart. I realize now, this may be why I lost my sweet baby boy......so so sad....please if your taking this, stop!!!!
Avatar f tn I recently had a son and I am Hep C positive. My viral load a year and a half ago was 78,600 I will not start tx until this June 08. My concern is that I noticed a scab on my sons big toe where it bends at the joint. I would think that his skin just cracked there after he was born and not in utero, I wouldn't think they could bleed or get a scab while they were in utero since they are surrouned by liquid.
Avatar f tn I guess that depends on what you mean by "effective." I try to spend as much time as possible with music playing nearby. My son kicked and punched and did flips when I went out while pregnant to the club my husband DJs at, I always figured he liked it. My son is smart but I don't attribute that to music playing in utero. He loves music and singing and playing instruments but he's heard it every day since he was born, not just in utero.
