Avatar n tn My 20 month old grandson has had vomiting for almost a week. He has had a history of reflux, but this past week he has had some projectile vomiting, no fever, and just can't keep anything down. What should we do? No fever, his pedi thinks it's a virus and lasts 7 to 10 days.
Avatar f tn maybe puree his food if its hard for him to eat ,the fever should go down soon.,if he is still vomiting in 24 hours I think you should take him back to see the doctor ,Good luck hope hes better soon .
Avatar n tn BRAT diet is NO longer recommended in diarrhea. General opinion among doctors today is that anyone can eat what he wants and avoid only what obviously irritates him. Your son should maybe avoid fats when he has diarrhea.
Avatar f tn In viral symptoms appear gradually and are less severe in bacterial they get sick fairly quickly and have a high fever and rapid breathing. With treatment bacterial is cured in 1-2 weeks..viral will last longer. There are vaccines now .The type of anti biotic depends on the type of pneumonia she has , as she has only taken the meds for a few days I would continue as prescribed but if indeed she seems worse and her temperature climbs it may be aswell to have her checked out again ..
Avatar f tn I am not convinced, however, as he has very little diarrhea, and no fever.

1356767 tn?1277275068 I have an 18 month old son who has devolped this thing where he'll throw up every hour starting at 5 in the morning going until about 9 in the morning, and with diarrhea all through out the day. Sometimes its green and watery, others normal colored diarrhea. He has no fever and is normal up until he gets sick. The doctors keep saying that he has a stomach bug such as the "day flu" that is going around, however, no one at his day care is sick and no one in our household is.
Avatar n tn It is best that your child be isolated from other children at home. Most rash in children are viral in origin. Adequate rest, plenty of water intake and good ventilation will be able to help.

Avatar m tn If the child is vomiting, antipyretics (fever reducing medications) can be given in suppository form, rectally. Make sure of proper installation and proper dosage. There are also prescription suppository medications for vomiting. Once the child stops vomiting, attempt to give fluids orally, in small sips and portions so as not to cause vomiting again. This is an attempt to prevent dehydration.
Avatar f tn I experienced "spotting" during my pregnancy. It was due to being dehydrated, sex, a UTI or physically doing to much house chores. As long as it is not associated with nausea, vomiting, fever or cramping then a little spotting should not be a problem unless you have other medical problems.

Avatar n tn My sister was running around and jummping on me then she started Vomiting. What happened to her? What should I do?
509877 tn?1315361694 When my sister was 19 (in 1973) she had severe pain and went to the hospital. She had kidney stones...lots of them. Back then, they opened you up surgically to remove kidney stones. She had multiple operations to remove the stones. Eventually, they removed all of her parathyroid glands except one...they regulate the calcium in your body. They put the last parathyroid gland in her forearm, so they could get to it easier surgically in case her calcium rose again.
Avatar n tn There is stomach flu going round and many children have it ..Certainly if she is till sick and vomiting in the next 24 hours with a fever its always a good thing to have her checked out, meantime give her plenty of water and pedalite so she wont get dehydrated..ease up on the eating give her bland foods that wont make the issue worse .
Avatar n tn Like I said this happened only 2 weeks ago and he has absolutely no recollection of being sick ( he is very afraid of vomiting and is almost traumatized by it), no recollection of watching movies in his bed on the portable DVD player, nothing. Should I be worried about this?
Avatar f tn My 4 year old woke up Tuesday morning vomiting with a fever. Throughout the day she continuously complained of pain in her lower right abdomen but my husband said that it would be worse if it was her appendix. By 7pm she was vomiting bloody foam so I took her to the urgent care where they advised I take her to the pediatric ER at the hospital. I took her in and they said it was most likely the flu but they were going to do a CT just to be sure.

3062962 tn?1406743961 m a little worried that if I catch whatever he has vomiting will start contractions and throw me in to labor, but I want to be there for my baby right now. It just breaks my heart to see him like this. Do you think I'm being too paranoid worrying about getting sick, or would it be the best idea to leave him to daddy for the night? Can't get a hold of my dr until Monday morning, so I have no one else to ask.
