Avatar m tn I fell backwards and banged my head to floor. There was no bleeding, vomiting or nausea. Its been 20 days now and I still have heaviness and slight pain since then. I went thru CT scan it says "cerebellar foliae are prominent" otherwise report is ok... what does it mean?? Do I need to worry and consult the doctor again?
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like headache & vomiting may be common, but may remain symptomatic or progress in future. I would recommend that he should consult immediately with a doctor for assessment. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist who will evaluate the further prognosis here and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Generally the symptoms appear within 48 hours to two weeks. However no head injury should be ignored. If you develop nausea, vomiting, excess sleep, severe headache, difficulty in walking and balance, tremors, seizures, vision problems, ringing in ears etc then consult a doctor immediately. These symptoms develop if there is a brain injury or bleed. Otherwise this pressure pain will go in a few days. Take care!
Avatar n tn my wife is 37 years old and she is suffering from head ache and vomitting sensation for the last 3 weeks ,she is getting this in the evening time mostly and she is a maths teacher in job. doctor has given some medicine for stress and its not working ,can some one help. should i do scanning of head.?
Avatar f tn You need to consult a neurologist as soon as possible or go to an emergency room and get evaluated for head injury and concussion. You may also need a MRI of the brain. The headaches could just be due to the hit or due to some bleed (that caused the swelling) or due to just a superficial injury to scalp. It cal also be due to bead injury that goes deeper into the brain.
Avatar n tn Sounds like you have a subluxion injury in addition to a head injury. Nothing is typical of a siezure. But that is JUST A GUESS. The "calcification" term PRONABLE refers to a narrowing of a nerve passageway in the cervical area through calcium deposits.
Avatar n tn You need to take him to see the doctor. If he hit his head and is now vomiting, this is a bad sign. Take him immediately to the hospital.
Avatar n tn i have numbness in the top of my head, it doesn't hurt, but the hairs on my head seem to be tingleing all the time. This has been going on for a few weeks now. Any idea what is going on?
Avatar f tn An X-ray normally is done to determine problems in the body cavity (pneumonia, cancer, injury, etc.) Upper respiratory infections are viral, not bacterial, and affect the head and throat area. I would recommend you call your vet and get a clearer understanding of exactly what his diagnosis is and the medication and feeding instructions for your cat.
Avatar f tn Does he have any other symptoms like vomiting, nausea, vision problems, balance problems, gait problems? However one cannot ignore any head injury. Hence get him examined by his pediatrician once. It could be his gut flu. However do not ignore the symptoms. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
1691630 tn?1329366215 Hi everyone. I hit my head not too hard on the side of the door panel, and I feel fine, but I have a slight burning sensation where I hit my head. I really didn't hit it that hard, so I don't think I need to be worried, but was just curious if the burning sensation is normal? Thank you all so much!!!
Avatar f tn Can you give any opinion on how hard I need to fight him to be seen by the doctor? If he had a head injury related to his fall, would the vomiting have appeared before 48 hours? Would he have other symptoms?
Avatar f tn I would have never thought that angle -- she had a concussion from soccer (going up tp head a ball but went head to head with another player) -- this was a while back tho, 2 years, so more than a year before the illness started. So your injury caused your throwing up and sleep issues? I don't know if these would be related but we are losing our minds trying to figure something out. All dr's will say is since the tests are all negative that leaves her with IBS and stress. Sigh.
Avatar f tn So when I was around 5 years old i was playing t-ball when i was smacked in the head buy a girl on the opposing team with a baseball bat. I was hit in the front of the head on the left side of my head. I didn't go unconcious or become dazed, I was removed frorm the game obviously and sent home with no medical treatment. I can still remember events before I was injured.
Avatar m tn i would definitely get your head checked. if the CT scan does not show anything, and you still feel strange, request an MRI. sometimes CT scans don't show what the MRI does. this was the case for my brain injury. the CT scan showed nothing, but the MRI i had later showed a clear injury to the brain. take care!
Avatar m tn Hey i was just playing Basketball and while contesting a rebound i got an elbow to the right side of my head. It didn't seem that bad at the time but after the game and my adrenaline went down i could feel a small bump and it was painful to the touch. The location was just above my right temple but as far as i could tell my temple was unharmed. I don't have any symptoms like burry vision or anything else besides a bump and a pain to the touch.
Avatar f tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar m tn I was taken to the ER immediately after the injury. I remember nothing on that time period (8 hours). They discharged me after 8 hours and I wake up with dizziness, headache, fatigue etc., but the ER doctor said I am ok. There are no visible injuries on my head and even I can't find anything on my scalp or anything next day. Not even a bruise. I felt terrible for the next 3 days and had some bleeding from nose which stopped after the first day.
Avatar n tn He needs to see the vet, dilated eyes can be from a toxic substance or injury and with the vomiting it makes me think head injury, please take him to the vet.
Avatar m tn Hi about 7 years ago i fell from my heigh on the head and had a brain injury with a very small extra-dural hematoma non operable. I did not slept into coma and would have not by the way because the bleed was 1cm small and did not expand further, did not have severe brain injury symptoms except vomiting and drowsiness and headaches, did not necessitate rehab, did not have confusion or loss of consciousness.
Avatar n tn What you can do is watch out for nausea, vomiting, headaches, flashes of light, unsteady gait, excess sleep, tremors, seizures etc as these are signs of head injury. Ideally a CT scan or MRI of the head should be done. Take care!
Avatar f tn She cried a lot but seemed fine, 5 days later she starts throwing up and screaming in agony with a pain in her head. Into hospital and she got a ct scan which showed no brain injury but she was probably concussed as I can see no other explanation for the vommiting and pain. Since the fall she has been complaining of a pain in her upper back area. When she sits on the floor or sits for too long, and certain movements will hurt her!!
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Was there previous history of trauma or injury to the head or neck? If there is none, this could be due to primary headaches such as migraine, tension or cluster headaches. Migraine headaches usually present with one sided throbbing headaches associated with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light or sound. While cluster headache usually present with headache and pain in the vicinity of the eye that could last for a few days.
Avatar n tn We have had pregnancy tests done and they all come back negative, The only other factor in this is that she suffered a pretty serious head injury which left her with a baseball sized knot on her head, and a broken nose which has been bleeding into her eyes, the doctors say everthing comes back clean as far as her head, but there has got to be something seriously wrong, can anyone please help us?
