He only stopped eating on Monday, although I did manage to tempt him with hot dog sausages. He hasn't been vomiting and has been doing his "business" as normal. He does enjoy chewing toys but he has this really hard ball so there is nothing he could have bitten off and swallowed. It's a real mystery at the moment, the vets had to sedate him yesterday as he was trembling so badly. He's having more tests today, I'll let you know if they reveal anything!
Can you be more specific on "a lot"? Does the trembling seem to be in reaction to anything like a noise or visitors or other dogs? How long does it last and how many times in one day?
It's either a behavior issue or a physical issue, so your best bet would be to have your vet examine your dog first. Go ahead and either confirm or rule out a physical condition. If nothing is physically wrong, then you can start looking at behavioral issues.
X-ray done, no bloods but Furusemide given. Two days later nitveating, vomiting - took to her own vet - bloods done - diagnosed with renal failure. Placed on Vetmedin for heart, renal diet, anti nausea tabs etc. 6 weeks later, still not eating well, trembling a lot. Not eaten a thing for 36 hours. Back to vet and he decided to stop the vetmedin. I also same time was given some herbal kidney support by a friend. That was one month ago.
Okay so I am in my first trimester still and I am getting nausea and vomiting like crazy. Are there any little tricks anyone has that'll help me not want to vomit all day??

Can you tell us how old your dog is? What type of dog she is? Whether she is asleep when her legs shake? How long she lies down for? Whether your intervention, by calling her etc., means she gets up and becomes more active? Whether you have noticed any trembling of her legs or other body parts while she is standing or sitting?
My Small Dog 'Davina' has started shaking her head and body off and on of the last 2 weeks. She only stops shaking when you pick her up and hold her. Is it a small dog sydrome? Because she was the smallest pup in the litter. Its really strange because she has always been a really happy dog and very playful but now all she wants is to be held. Our dog a 15 years old bichon frise, has been sick for the last months.Symptoms were:
- Minor anorexia
- Trembling and unable to walk

we took her to the vet where she had some kind of treatment (injections) and at least she could stand on her feet properly again.
As of the last couple of days she refuses to eat anything, has lost her energy and today we found blood inside her water bowl and some drops all over the same room.
