Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting dog poop

vomiting

Avatar m tn t understand why Can someone please explain this to me as he gets fed 3 times a day and eats all his dog food and has had all his shots and does poop his regular stool so I became alarmed when he did this unusual thing!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn I'm more concerned about the color of the stool. Light stools indicate a lack of bile, which gives poop its brown color. This situation is a little reminiscent of what happened to my first dog after eating one pork rib bone. He got pancreatitis and it was fatal. Of course, my dog was very old when that happened and his pancreas was probably already twitchy anyway and the bone and fat was just the last straw. It's something you need to be aware of though for future reference.

4487133 tn?1355332064 My 15 month old English Bulldog has been vomiting for about 6 weeks now (daily, sometimes twice daily). If it is after a meal, then she throws up the entire meal. If it is not near a meal, then she throws up a large amount of bile colored drool. She eats only her recommended amount of Innova-Weight Control dog food twice daily (given to her in small amounts at a time) - No table food at all. She has been taking half a tab (37.
Avatar f tn We have no way to diagnose your dog on a public forum....From your brief description, it sounds as if your dog is very ill....Whether it's live threatening or not is beyond our means of helping you..... You don't mention what age your girl is or how long this has been going on.......If this is a puppy, then "Parvo Virus" comes to mind which can be fatal.....If this is an older dog, then Kidney or Liver disease is possible.....
Avatar n tn My 5.5 year-old toy poodle's poop looked very much like it had the consistency of a gel or mucus the other day... She is a rescue I've had for 2 yrs (Katrina) so I don't know about her past. She has been having issues with not eating--and I'll hear her stomach gurgling and growling across the room.
1271710 tn?1272853700 My dog ate the tail off of her monkey chew toy. It was around 3-4inches long. The other day I noticed it missing. Well today after a poop I found it...sticking out of her butt. Should I pull it out? Or maybe wait for her next poop? I looked online and a lot of people said not to pull it out because it could be tangled in her intestines.
Avatar f tn Welcome....Yes, there are a few reasons for this: Panting is a sign of pain!!!!......Vomiting & NOT able to poop signals an Intestinal Blockage.....Has she eaten anything unusual like a toy, ball, sticks, socks, etc? Also, this could be a Stomach Bloat/Torsion.....Bloat is FATAL quickly! Blockage is also fatal, but not as fast...... You must seek medical attention for her Immediately......IMO, You have an emergency setting up...... Please, let us know how it turns out & good luck..
Avatar m tn He will probably be fine. I take it you didn't tell your parents? Just casually ask them how the dog's stool was. If he shiws any signs if being sick, can't poop, diarrhea, refusing to eat or vomiting, you need to take him to the vet.
Avatar f tn There also was poop that had jelly-like clots of bloody muchousy stuff in her poop. The poop where she was lying on the floor was also jelly-like consistency. We are heart broken as she was like our child in every way. What could have happened to our precious girl, please help us answer this heartbreaking question if you can in anyway. All of this happened so suddenly that we are in shock. What did we miss, could we have saved our precious baby. Thank you Pleas ASAP!!
Avatar f tn Any more information would be helpful.....Is she vomiting or have diarrhea? Could she have ingested poison? Mouse or rat bait? Could she have chewed something that caused a blockage? Could there be something stuck in her mouth & she can't eat? LIke a chicken bone....Are her teeth healthy? Maybe she has a bad tooth...Has she ever had a dental? Is she pooping? What does her poop look like? Her posture: Is she stumbling, limping, hunched over? Sleeping & not eating is a sign of pain!
Avatar f tn he is continuously vomiting or throwing undigested food...for which i gave him parinorm to cure vomiting...and he is very lethargic and never play or run...he is drinking water excessively and then vomiting watever he has eaten wit a white foamy thing...before this his condition was very critical and was on drip for three days...and was given a syrup gramogyl...for vomiting and loads of injections by my vet for fever...i am very tensed about him please help !!!
Avatar n tn My westie has always suffered bouts of vomiting since he was a pup( mostly bile) and occasional diarrhoea with upset tummy. On these days he becomes very lethargic and off his food then when on the mend becimes active again. His problem at the moment is a couple of times recently he has sat down on ground every 2mins when out his walk and his penis has been erect. He is also very tired this can last for about 1/2hour to an hour then all of a sudden his energy returns and he is back to normal.
Avatar f tn The only worm that you can ever see in a dog's stool with your naked eye (without a microscope, in other words) -- at least under normal circumstances -- is a tapeworm. A tapeworm segment does look like a long, thin, grain of rice. Sometimes, if you see it in the first few minutes after the dog had a bowel movement, the tapeworm might still be moving or wiggling. The vet is right, USUALLY you will see more than one of them, if the dog has tapeworms.
Avatar n tn my beagle mix got out of his crate today and ate a large portion of dog and cat food. he is really bloated and tired is there any concern?
Avatar m tn I have a 4 month old min pin and he got his shots the other day 2 days ago and all the sudden he has blood in his stool and its not normal poop. This started today and now he ate and he has puked 4 times in the last hour. He sits there and whines and then pukes. The puke was food but now its froth... its gross... any ideas?
Avatar f tn After this he started pooping on the floor, I then let him outside where he continues to poop and now it is straight diarrhea. I have him in my bathroom now, I have tried to get him to drink some water and he wont. My question is what is causing this, and What can I do to make him better?
Avatar m tn Is he unwell in other ways -such as refusing to eat, drink, unable to pee and poop? Showing signs of pain? Or any other symptoms? Coughing....vomiting....diarrhea....anything else? Dogs won't move or can't get up sometimes because of all sorts of different health reasons...some very serious indeed, and some which can easily be helped with pain relief, time and rest. It's impossible or us to know if he's just pulled a muscle while playing....
Avatar m tn This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside? Is the dog eating, drinking, any vomiting or diarrhea, eating and drinking? If this continues and especially if the dog shows any other signs, a trip to your Vet is warranted.
Avatar f tn It is clear to me how long the dog is left home alone. The longer the time period the more difficult to get all toilet activity outdoors. My experience says a dog can go 8 to 10 hours easily without being able to relieve body functions, I say that with the experience of a person who has a dog that goes to "bed" about 10 PM and stays sleeping or resting until 8AM, or 10 hours and even then the dog isn't in any urgent state to go outside.
