I am dog sitting for a couple of weeks right now and the dog is miserable. He has some sort of unknown allergies but is on a low grade food (beneful) and horrible smelling skin. He is beet red in his ears, armpits and abdomen. The skin is also hyperpigmented in spots, flaky and has similar texture to elephant skin (wrinkled and swollen). He also has a sweet horrible odour (especially earss) so I'm assuming a yeast infection.

5 weeks ago my dog had a gastral infection that was treated with antibiotics and anti nausea medication. She had recoverd and had a relaps of the same symthoms. Is Pine Nut Oil or Manuka Honey an alternative remedy for stomach ulsers? Is the advertisement for these product true? If you are taking synthetic antibiotics do they sterilize and kill all bacteria? do you need to introduce good bacteria like Acidophilus into the stomach?

s also not outside the realm of possibility for them both to have some sort of blockage at the same time. The point is to never use a home remedy unless it is either something VERY minor that you are treating or a stop-gap measure until the vet can see you. They may be able to give her medication that calms the stomach and prevents this vomiting. VERY Important. Bach Rescue Remedy may have a natural product for calming the stomach. You can read about their products online and they are given sublingually under the tongue via a dropper. Maybe the feeding tube is dislodged? I am sure you ahve done this, but I would bring the dog back in to the Vet. They can check on the tube placement. Wishing you the best.

I'm so sick of coughing and hacking to no end! The cough syrup I'm using isn't working, nor are the cough drops, chloraseptic spray, gargling salt water, vicks vapor rub....ect ect. Ginger root, ginger gun, and ginger ale all didnt really work for me. Only home remedy I cans say was a life saver was raw lemons. I would smell them and suck on them.

Honestly, if you suspect he has that there is no home remedy that is going to help him, unless you are very lucky indeed. If it is a huge piece of cloth, or a big square piece of plastic....how is that meant to pass through his gut without medical attention? Some smaller things might, and a laxative can flush them out. But otherwise what you could be looking at is a dog in serious pain and with bowel necrosis, and possibly -vomiting feces! That's a heck of a gamble to take.

Everytime I leave him at the nursery he vomits and then his teacher calls me to pick him up.Once he comes home he is absolutely fine and starts playing happily. My 2 year old Pekingese has been having unexplained, intermittent vomiting for the past nine months (at least a few times a week). He acted normally--drank water, ate food, ran around playing and did everything he normally does except for the vomiting. He had had no change in foods, but he is the type of dog that eats nails, paper clips, tacks, necklaces, plastic, and anything he isn't supposed to that he can get his paws on. Since I have 2 children I never know what they might drop or leave lying around, and; therefore, I am often pulling things out of my dog's mouth.

This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside? Is the dog eating, drinking, any vomiting or diarrhea, eating and drinking? If this continues and especially if the dog shows any other signs, a trip to your Vet is warranted.
