Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting dog help

vomiting

Avatar m tn This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside? Is the dog eating, drinking, any vomiting or diarrhea, eating and drinking? If this continues and especially if the dog shows any other signs, a trip to your Vet is warranted.
Avatar m tn My dog has been vomiting yellow bile and sometimes with food.. he has very little appetite. Vet visit last wed showed nothing unusual on blood work and exam. said to treat as acid reflux. Meds haven't stopped it and appetite is actually worse.. he is 10+ husky/shep mix.
Avatar n tn Not eating or drinking can be a sign of anything from an upset stomach to toothache to virus. Lethargy could also be related, in those cases, as a side effect of not having any nutrition or even as a symptom of an ache. (When we don't feel well, or we haven't eaten because we don't feel well for some time, we don't have a lot of energy either.) Vomiting is one of those symptoms that can accompany so many conditions, as well.
Avatar n tn If your dog can get through a day or two with no meds, that might help calm things down. His stomach has gone through a lot and is going to be a little iffy for a few days. How old is your dog? If she's seven, she's reached senior status and it wouldn't hurt to have a full blood and urine workup to see how her organs are performing. This kind of vomiting is not normal. Does she throw up food, or is it primarily slimy bile?

Avatar f tn Missy dog vomits when she eats or drinks. She can only keep down white rice and small amounts of water at a time. Her stool is normal and stomach isn't hard. I am concerned at she can't continue to just eat rice. I tried boiling hamburer and putting a little in the rice but she vomited that too.

Avatar n tn my dog has been vomiting foamy white fluid for about 2days now and shes drining plenty of water but just cant seen 2 hold it down...
Avatar n tn I'll just add that my dog, Toby was a small dog, a Jack Russell.
Avatar f tn He has lots of tricks up his sleeve. Not sure if he can help without seeing the dog. Have they verified that the feeding tube is in the proper place currently. Is your dog getting IV's to replace the fluids lost while vomiting? This is very important. There could be a severe electrolyte imbalance. 14 days is a long time to still be vomiting. Your dog must be extremely weak at this point. They may have to give TPN via an IV like they do with humans.
1086217 tn?1256696089 When we got a new vet, she immediately treated his ears, and no more vomiting. It can also happen if your dog has bad allergies, from all that mucus draining into the stomach. You might want to check your dog's ears for a lot of wax or redness, and watch for a lot of scratching or biting to indicate allergies.
Avatar m tn We have a similar problem with our dog, is pretty old, his back legs are very weak, he is coughing and vomiting, we can't afford to going to the vets, I am afraid that in view of his age, one trip only might have to be sufficient, why leave him to suffer in his old age, put him to sleep while he is still free from pain and suffering.
Avatar f tn He acted normally--drank water, ate food, ran around playing and did everything he normally does except for the vomiting. He had had no change in foods, but he is the type of dog that eats nails, paper clips, tacks, necklaces, plastic, and anything he isn't supposed to that he can get his paws on. Since I have 2 children I never know what they might drop or leave lying around, and; therefore, I am often pulling things out of my dog's mouth.
Avatar f tn Vomiting will not help with suboxone since it's absorbed through the mucus membranes of the mouth. 1 mg is a HUGE dose for a 10 lb dog, and a dam big dose for an opiate-naive human. Call your regular vet clinic. There should be an outgoing message instructing you what to do in an emergency. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY so please do it now!
Avatar f tn My parents dog is 13 years old. In December the dog had an episode of vomiting up bright red blood and then vomiting up a darker substance. Parents took dog to vet. Vet thought the dog ate some deer poo or something similar and gave the dog an anti-vomiting type medication. Dog was okay for about a week maybe. Then started throwing up blood again. They took him back to vet. Vet recommended having a light run down into his gastrointestinal tract to check for stomach tumors.
Avatar m tn I am sorry about your dog. Vomiting can be caused by a great number or problems including: parasites, gastritis, toxins, infectious agents, foreign body ingestion, kidney or liver disease, cancers and more. Not eating for two weeks is very serious. It would be great if your vet's were able to perform blood tests and X-Rays because once there is a diagnosis proper treatment can be instituted. If diagnostics cannot be performed than symptomatic treatment is the next best option.
4487133 tn?1355332064 My 15 month old English Bulldog has been vomiting for about 6 weeks now (daily, sometimes twice daily). If it is after a meal, then she throws up the entire meal. If it is not near a meal, then she throws up a large amount of bile colored drool. She eats only her recommended amount of Innova-Weight Control dog food twice daily (given to her in small amounts at a time) - No table food at all. She has been taking half a tab (37.
Avatar m tn My dog was vomiting mucus several times a day so I took him to the vet who took 2 xrays, blood and determined he had allergies. She gave him antibiotics, prilosec, benedryl and something else for his stomach which he took for a week. I stopped them after a week and he is throwing mucus up again. I have spent $500. so far. What can i do?
Avatar n tn There has to be a reason for the vomiting. The Vet. can give you a medication to help with the vomiting if it's not a foreign object. I do know that on rare occasions a dog will eat too fast and the food comes back up. Make sure he gets plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. You may have to give small quantities at a time. Maybe you can find a flavor of Pedialyte that he'll drink or let him lick ice.
