I am currently suffering through another bout of a problem I have experienced before. Usually wake up with extreme chills, panic, and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting. Today it has lasted all day -- coming and going. Sometimes temperature drops to 96 something but today always between 97 something and 99. Feels like food poisoning but no fever? Feel like punched in kidneys, bad muscle aches, and of course the extreme chills requiring multiple blankets in a 74 degree room.
Intermittently I experience nausea, bloating, vomiting, chills, and experience paleness in my face and hands after eating. Most recently it was after eating a banana which have caused me no other problems throughout my life previously. I ate some rice cakes about 6 hours prior and that was all that I ate for the day. I have had a colonoscopy and egd that came back normal and all kinds of blood work that came back normal as well. I am gluten free and a type 2 diabetic.
but I was really sick (hyperemesis gravidarum) and camped out on the sofa for many weeks strait, which could have caused it. Any vomiting associated w/chills or fever should be reported to your doctor.... otherwise, the change/drop in temperature could be hormonal or have something to do with your circulation changing. I am now 22 weeks along and running really warm, so your body temp will probably have a similar shift later down the road! Best wishes to you and congrats on your pregnancy!

Hi. In November of 2012 I got really sick (vomiting, flu like symptoms, diarhea, the whole 9 yards), was sick for about 3 days then felt better. Thought it was the flu bug. Then the following week it happened again, this time worse vomiting. Over the next 3 weeks I was sick 3 more times, each time the vomiting was more intense. I had both upper and lower endoscopies performed, had an MRI of my chest, gallbladder, etc. I even had a camera endoscopy done - and found nothing.

For the last several weeks I have been getting nauseas every night almost to the verge of vomiting. Usually what happens is I get nauseas and then have a loose bowel movement and then I start to shake like i'm freezing. The only thing that usually helps is 1/2mg to 1mg of valium. Does anyone know what could cause this. I've been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis since I was 14, i'm now 40. And this is not a usual symptom for me.

After taking the medicine prescribed, 7 hours later, she is still having chills and fever. Her chills appear to come and go every 10hours or so and subside after she takes pain relief medicine but comes back after it wears off. She also complains of body aches. Should we bring her to the hospital if these symptoms persist tomorrow even after consuming medication? What other possible problems may be affecting her?
The vomiting episodes are in the mornings only. She also has diarhea with the vomiting. No complaints of abdominal pain or tenderness. The vomiting last 4 hours or so, then she spends the afternoon taking a nap or watching tv. She adores school and is not a nervous child. She has also had an episode over the weekend, so I'm sure this isn't related to school. We took her to the doctor after the 3rd episode. KUB, mono screen, h-pylori, and CMP were performed.
