Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting cat give

vomiting

Avatar f tn My cat was coughing and breathing heavy. I took her to the Vet and after they took X-Ray I was told she has to be under medication for two weeks. I started her on Clavamox 15 ML but after couple of days I noticed she vomits after each intake. I was told by the Vet to give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait 20 minutes before giving her Clavamox. She is not eating food and I am giving her Garbor baby food (chicken and rice) along with Clavamox. I noticed she still vomits after each intake.
Avatar f tn How can I stop my cat from vomiting? She is taking Clavamox drops and was vomiting after each use. I spoke to her Vet and was told that I should give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait for 20 minutes and then give her Clavamox. She is not eating and Vet suggested to give her baby food with the Clavomox. I am doing what I was told but my cat is still vomiting.
436973 tn?1217947089 How often is normal for kitties to have upset tummies? My cat seems to vomit a few of times a month. Often twice in a day then she'll be fine for a couple of weeks and then again twice in a day. She doesn't ever act like she doesn't feel well. Just throws up and is done with it. It is not hairbally at all. Shoould I be worried?
Avatar f tn Sounds to me like she may need at least an xray to see if there is a blockage in her intestines----This is very serious and urgent that you let the Vet do what he needs to do . Vomiting everything she eats was what caused my cat to have exploratory surgery to see if there was a blockage---thank God there wasn't but she was a very sick little girl..
Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
592969 tn?1248325405 t really safe to give cats. However, though, and this is what your cat may be going through, some cats will vomit when fed ANY wet foods. Well, you know your cat better than us. I hope he gets better, and goes back to his normal self. Personally, I will never recommend any Purina product but it's just because my cat was harmed by it. I wouldn't recommend something that almost gave my cat cancer.
Avatar m tn my male cat was neutered 4 days ago, every time he eats he vomits ,even water.
1565420 tn?1304572548 My 17year old cat is vomiting up a lot of his food every few days..sometimes daily. I cannot tell if it's because of hairballs. Sometimes it includes hairballs, somtimes not. Does anyone know what might be wrong with him. He also sneezes a lot and has a runny nose. Worried.
Avatar n tn I'd give it a day or two. Cats have very sensitive stomachs-they get upset very easily. Also, since he's long-haired, it very well could be hairballs. I'd start giving him either a hairball remedy or white petroleum jelly every single day to prevent this. Give him about a marble size glob....see if he'll lick it off your finger, and if he doesn't put it directly in the side of his mouth. I give the petr. jelly every day to my cat, and she gets hairballs a lot.
Avatar m tn They have their Masters in psychology So this is how it works with a cat. You have to wait for the behavior to happen and then encourage it if you want the cat to continue or IGNORE it if you want the cat to stop that behavior. An example--Cat wants in the bedroom at night so he tries some things to get your Reaction.
Avatar f tn Since your bill was over $200, I bet it was done. The blood work would give you lots of clues as to why your cat could be vomiting. It would show liver, kidney problems, and pancreatic problems which could cause vomiting. And, if the blood work showed nothing, your next best bet would be to get an ultra sound done on her abdomen. You have to find a cause for the vomiting before it can be stopped.
Avatar n tn If you really suspect stomach cancer, (and it is a cause of chronic vomiting), than you can ask to have a abdominal ultrasound or barium study performed on your cat. These should be able to give you a definitive diagnosis. Diagnosis of brain cancer would require a CT Scan or MRI of the brain.
Avatar f tn My 13 year old Japanese Bobtail cat has been disagnosed with Pemphegus and is being treated wtih Atopica and Triamciniolone. She's vomited several times, so we cut back on the Atopica and only used Triamciniolene. The vomiting returned, so she is only taking Atopica, after which she agaom vomited. I'm told San Ren Tang may cause the remission of Pemphegus. Please help...I adore this cat.
Avatar n tn some meds for pain or antibiotics can have a side effect of vomiting. I will give you a site to read on the complications associated with spaying, not to scare you but for info purposes only. I am really happy to know you called your Vet and I hope he will do a good exam to see what is going on, it very likely has nothing to do with being over active.. good luck, PLEASE updated us so we all know whats causing this. www.pet-informed-veterinary-advice-online.com/spaying-cats.
Avatar f tn My cat (1.5 year-old Bengal) has been vomiting (once a day) sine 3 days ago, and she makes this painful noise before she vomits, and it sounds like she in a lot of pain. I took her to the vet on Thursday and the vet ran blood test and found really nothing (except that he red cell count was higher than normal). He said she's probably having a stomach problem and gave her medication for it.
Avatar n tn My cat is long haired and occassionally vomits hairballs. She does like to eat plastic, so I keep all bags and stuff away from her. Sometimes I find that she vomits after I give her too much cat treats. However, a while ago I was alarmed to see her drop to the floor on her side after she threw up. She got up and acted fine and for weeks now has seemed perfectly happy and healthy. Until tonight, she did the same thing.
13912344 tn?1432039046 m looking for clue as to what might be wrong with my cat. He is a 10 year old short hair cat that stays in doors 95% of the time, and weighs 16lbs (yes, he's on a diet consisting of strictly canned food). Three days ago I took him outside on his leash and he tried to eat grass when I wasn't looking. When he got inside he didn't want dinner which is unheard of. Later he vomited a small amount of grass, which is normal for him if he ingests it.
4443289 tn?1354656043 The tuna that I did give him had oil in it and I just learned that can cause a sickness to a cat called steatitis. I only gave him a small amount, but he has all the symptoms except a fever. He is extremely lethargic, won't eat, and when picked up or moving, he cries. I called my vet and asked if he has any vitamin E that I could give him (because that is what is supposed to help with steatitis) but he said that he doesn't think the vitamin would do any good.
Avatar f tn my cat is an indoor outdoor cat she was fine this morning and was mainly indoors all day today. this afternoon she started to vomit(looked like her dry food) shaking and walking off balance almost as if she was drunk. she did her flea drops but on her yesterday. what should i do?
1296191 tn?1280699873 s going on with your kitty, is the vomiting something new or has he always done it? Has he always been a thin cat in spite of eating enough?
Avatar n tn Hello My Cat Luna has been vomiting a little bit more than usual the past couple of days. She doesn't usually vomit more than once or twice every 2 or 3 weeks. Last week, I went away and had my mom cat-sit for me. When I came back and brought the cat back to the house, she's been vomiting BEFORE i feed her. Which makes no sense. Her food hasn't been changed. I feed her the Iams hairball care/weight control for indoor cats.
Avatar f tn Three weeks ago I adopted a young cat who's owner passed away. When I got the cat, I was told she was depressed and wasn't eating much but wasn't given much of a medical history (or her age). I didn't think much of it and assumed she would be okey with time. I have tried feeding her two brands of dry food - one which she didn't like at all and another that she ate but kept throwing up.
Avatar f tn Is there anything I can do or give to my 16 yr old cat that will help him until I find a VET for help? Like people meds or electrolytes or whatever?
