Vomiting blood ulcer symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting blood ulcer symptoms

vomiting

Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me what the symptoms of an ulcer are? I mean, like a serious ulcer. Stomach has been hurting pretty bad for two weeks. Really bad the past few days. Throwing up, some blood there. Can't keep food down. Don't have any health insurance. Is there anything I can take or do that will help?! Many thanks.
Avatar f tn If you have been vomiting due to morning sickness you might have ruptured a vessel or started to develop a ulcer due to stress. But if it persists and geta worse through out the night OR you develop abdominal pain and you don't feel comfortable then go to the ER. Always better safe than sorry, especially when your pregnant (even tho I don't think vomiting blood has any direct relation to the baby) but regardless I'd make an app with your PCP if it persists.
Avatar f tn Don't waste time, go to your doc now! Or look up your neighborhood for the nearest free clinic and set up an appointment asap! (posting about this on the forum was like me posting about shingles on above my hip) No one could guess that because my age. (shocker it can occur in young adults too), and nobdy could make it go away either. I had to wait for 4+ hours at a free clinic but it was worth getting the right meds.
634590 tn?1293774093 It can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between vomiting blood and coughing up blood (from the lung) or a nosebleed. Conditions that cause vomiting blood can also cause blood in the stool. Causes The upper GI tract includes the stomach, mouth, throat, esophagus, and the first part of the small intestine. Blood that is vomited may come from any one of these places.
962492 tn?1247454619 Smoking, alcohol use, gastritis, acidity, tumors of stomach and food pipe, bleeding gastric ulcer, cancer of stomach, erosion of lining of food pipe, bleeding veins at esophageal (food pipe) sphincters etc all cause vomiting of blood. This can be fresh red if coming from a place above the stomach. It can be brown or coffee colored if coming from the stomach.
Avatar f tn If you do vomit up blood, an ulcer is almost always the cause. Is the blood bright red or dark red? As ayri stated, most pain meds like ibuprofen and asprin irritate the lining of the stomach and for most GERD sufferers that is what can initialy set off their symptoms. I noticed you said you puked after sphagetti and tomatoe sauce. Tomatoe sauce is very acid and will cause more acid, which therefor irritates your stomach (and possibly ulcer). I would suggest an endoscopy as well.
Avatar n tn On 2 different occasions he has been vomiting blood. Any suggestions? He is not eating and is losing weight. Please HELP!!!
Avatar f tn Could be something fairly simple like erosion in the upper digestive tract, like a bleeding ulcer, or something disastrous like liver failure, and your doc would not necessarily know how to treat the more complex reasons for vomiting blood.
Avatar f tn How much blood? If you are vomiting red blood you could have a bleeding ulcer and that is an emergency. I have had a tiny amount before and it was due to irritation in my throat. You should at least make an appointment with your physician. If you vomit red blood, become dizzy or faint or have black sticky stools you should go to the emergency room.
900720 tn?1241996271 The thing that you guys really need to watch for is how much blood she is vomiting, and what it looks like. If she is vomiting more than a tablespoon, or it looks like coffee grounds, then you need to take her to the ER because she sould have some sort of internal bleeding, or a bleeding ulcer....which the ulcer would be more of a guess becuase of the heartburn and vomiting. Make sure she gets plenty of fluids, because all of that vomiting will make her dehydrated.
Avatar n tn Do not go off of symptoms. I had a scare from not ever being at risk and convinced myself I had been exposed. My "symptoms" were candida, rash, blood spots, headaches, sweating, fever, nausea, mouth ulcers, vomiting, and fatigue, and guess what?
Avatar f tn I had bleeding ulcers a few years ago from too many NSAIDS (antiinflammatory meds like aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), and I had no symptoms until I was suddenly vomiting blood. My H Pylori test was negative, too. Make sure you get to the gastro sooner rather than later if you suspect an ulcer. Let us know what happens.
Avatar f tn no they did not test me the blood comes in mouth in morning due to ulcer in one day only now blood is not coming but green yellowish saliva come in morning i am taking my pills of ulcer and oral suspension syrup
Avatar f tn Nausea Vomiting Loss of appetite Loss of weight Tiredness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer) Weakness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer) Blood in vomit or stool. When blood is in the stool, it appears tarry or black (symptom of a bleeding ulcer). The only way to be able to tell if it is an ulcer for sure is to have your Dr. run these very common tests. Doctors can perform endoscopic and x-ray examinations, as well as testing for H. pylori.
Avatar m tn Your persisting symptoms nausea and vomiting could indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Hope a urine analysis did not reveal an infection, as urinary tract infection can cause these symptoms. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Boy, I don't know. Stomach issues are so hard to figure out in little ones. When I was 11, I was sick for three months and lost 30 pounds (which is a tremendous amount for an 11 year old). I had every test run on me and nothing was showing up. I had stomach pains and nausea so I just stopped eating. They were suggesting it was psychological.
Avatar n tn Vomiting blood can be serious. Blood can come from not only the stomach but also from the esophagus and the reasons for the presence of that blood can be due to a number of different conditions. Each condition may have to be treated differently. You need to make sure where that blood is coming from - have the scope done.
Avatar f tn I would maybe call your pcp instead of your ob on this. Is it blood your vomiting or next blood tinged mucus? Is it red or did it look like coffee grounds. Could be an ulcer. Any history of GERD?
Avatar n tn Sounds like blood from an ulcer, but there is no way to tell on an internet forum. See a doctor. Whether you're an alcoholic or not, drinking to excess becomes more dangerous as we get older. You're not old, but you're not a kid anymore either. Can you drink in smaller quantities and stick with beer & wine? If you're drinking to the stage of blackouts or passing out, then you may have more of a problem than you believe.
Avatar f tn If you're vomiting up blood on any occasion, run not walk to your doctor or nearest health clinic. This may be an emergency! (or at least a sign of cancer) Vomiting blood on any occasion is a serious concern (especially with the variables you express). There should be free services available for your area to check out. Avatar f tn I hope this is a good sign. I am think that I desturbed the ulcer by the vomiting. It is the same pain I had two years ago.
