It is always in the morning soon after I get up and he gets out of his crate. I assume the blood is from the violent retching he's doing. I've never found a foreign body or anything to indicate why he's doing this. He does have a habit of licking his front legs excessively (nervous habit). Is he vomiting hair balls like a cat? After vomiting, he refuses to eat for about 8 hours and then goes back to normal eating until this happens again.

After vomiting for a few days I went to my GP for a check up he gives me a pregnancy test which comes back negative then gives me a blood test and after a few days I go back and he tells me I have tested positive for HepA. He explains everything to me and after hearing their is no magic pill to make it all go away I go home and rest up. For the past 3 weeks I have been vomiting and feeling nauseous. From your descriptions of vomiting vs regurgitation, it sounds more like regurgitation. Since she had her patella tendon repaired as a puppy, and then spayed, she has had esophagus problems. And this morning she is making noises in her throat similiar to choking or trying to cough something up. But there is nothing stuck in her throat, and I don't give her bones. Last night it was just some very small pieces of baked chicken.

Ive had this problem for over 1 year now... It all started when I went out to a party with some friends. I drank too much at the party, and hadn't eaten much of anything all day and ended up getting very sick. I wound up spending probably an hour and a half throwing up in the toilet. I remember retching so hard while vomiting that I thought "I bet I'm going to burst a blood vessel in my eye" from straining so hard.
for 3 weeks, i have had pain above my navel which radiates left and right, terrible nausea with retching and sometimes vomiting, and very loose and watery stools. i have had a headache just to the left of my forehead, and during the nausea/retching/diarrhea episodes, my skin becomes very clammy and i feel hot and like i'm going to pass out. the pain reaches a climax and slowly subsides. then i feel very tired. today i feel a lot better. what could be causing this?
My cat has vomited for the second time this week. He is clearly retching and heaving before he vomits, and his vomit was a small amount of brown/dark green liquid mush. There was no blood or objects. I have already done a little research on the possible causes, but I cannot seem to pinpoint what is actually causing my cat to vomit. Took a week of Vet prescribed Pepcid AC and a month of soft foods to heal inner lacerations from vomiting it up. Aprox 6 days ago began furball style constant retching. Some vomiting, contained food. No diarreah, no constipation. Usually pees a ton, noticed some decrease. Treated with Kittymalt for 3 days to treat suspected furball. Did not help. Over next 2 days (weekend, Vet not open) retching continued. Noticed food intake decreased sharply. Is usually a glutton.
In past years, eating would help but I would still have episodes of violent retching . These issues began 5 years ago during the same week I took antibiotics for suspected Lyme disease. I take omeprazole for acid reflux. Have seen gastro and endocrine drs with nothing that jumps out as abnormal. I posted once before but the symptoms changed in that initially no vomit now, I almost always vomit .
Then it goes away . I think oatmeal an issue but no one else seems to think the trigger .
My dog just had diarrhea with a little orange goo in it along with a tiny bit of what looked like vomit with a little blood in it. Before I found all of this, I took a tiny plastic thing away from her. Could this have had something to do with the vomit and diarrhea or should I be more concerned?
For the past 31 months I keep retching on a daily basis but I never vomit. This retching can happen up to a dozen times a day. The only thing that supresses it is chewing mints in the day time and consuming alcohol in the evening which makes the retching stop completely. I have no history of medical illness, I had lots of blood work done in September 2013 including a Full Blood Count, IgA, Lipids Fasting, Glucose Fasting, Bone Profile, Thyroid Function, Anti TTG and Glucose Fasting.
Is the vomiting that occurs an active process, with abdominal contractions and lots of retching before he gets the food up, or does the food just seem to pop out without any warning or effort? If the latter is the case, then I would be quite concerned about esophagitis or esophageal stricture which can sometimes occur after anesthesia, due to reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus.
I have emetophobia. I have since taken two more zofran and Pepto. No vomiting or diarrhea, but I did wake up with a bad headache. I haven’t eaten a lot lately. Does this mean I will be sick for a longer period of time? How will the virus shed?
I do have acid reflux but never vomited and ate oatmeal almost every day. After taking antibiotics, I went from vomiting once or twice a decade to extreme retching a few times a week. It’s quite awful.
I have seen a gastroenterologist. Had lots of scans and lots of blood tests. Dr says not related to antibiotic use. Just coincidence that symptoms began at same time.
When I was delivering my son they had me keep my chin down and kept telling me to push like I had to take a massive poop lol took awhile to figure it out cuz ive never pooped laying down (well since I learned how to use a toilet) but also be prepared for retching or vomiting I could not control it I just kept dry heaving the whole time pushing
i am a 60 year old female who has been experiencing bouts of retching, with occasional vomiting, and periodic upper abdominal pain for over 1 year. labs all wnl. it can be several days a week or every 2-3 weeks.
after ct saying i had either a "fungal infection or metastatic cancer" i finally (not fun waiting) had mri and it concluded i had multiple splenic hemangiomas, largest being 1.4 cm.
He no longer has acid reflux but he has many episodes of retching that go on for days some times. He has missed school and is unable to be a dependable employee. The last 5 months have been a roller coaster. He has periods when he feels great, then can wake up to this uncontrolable retching. As you know, he cannot throw up with this surgery. He lost 30 lbs initially, and has gone up and down in weight. He is very frustrated, and now wishes he never had the surgery.
I have had nausea since the start of this pregnancy and a lot of retching, but no vomiting as of yet, I have only been able to eat one a day up to yesterday and now can manage a little bit more. I'm just really wondering what are the chances of getting it again? I just want to be prepared, because with an active 11 month old I need to get organised for her!

He is on continuous feeds, but the retching episodes are still coming. And when they do, they are horrible. He gets so miserable and uncomfortable, many times I'm on the verge of taking him to the ER. We have to take him off feeds completely until it passes. Sometimes replacing his formula with pedialyte for up to 48 hours. Usually lasts 2-3 days then passes. He's fine for a week or so, then the retching comes back.
Have there been any other symptoms -such as vomiting, diarrhea, coughing or retching, unusual tiredness?
Any dog who normally has a good appetite and isn't too faddy with food, will eat. A sudden change in appetite usually means your dog isn't feeling well. He could have some pain somewhere. Pain can cause a dog to lose his appetite.
If he doesn't start eating within 1 day or if there are any other symptoms at all, I would take him for a good check up with the vet.
The same thing has happened to me but I've had severe morning sickness. If it gets really bad, if you're vomiting more than once a morning, or if you're having other symptoms such as diarrhea where you are worried that you're losing nutrients ask your doctor for Zofran. It's an anti nausea medication that is safe for pregnant women to take, and it is a miracle pill let me tell you.
