vomiting

Avatar n tn Hi, Given that she has been properly assessed and her underlying thyroid disorder and blood pressure are well controlled, then this may sound like a bout of migraine headaches. However, thyroid problems and even medications may sometimes present with headaches. It is best that she is being monitored closely. Migraines may be associated with weather change however this is not firmly established. Nausea and vomiting may also be associated with migraines.
Avatar f tn This time however, I have been vomiting blood. Should I go back to the doc? Has anyone had migraines this severe during pregnancy before?
Avatar f tn If you only have eye symptoms, do not have headache, nausea or vomiting then you have ophthalmic migraine NOT classic migraine (nausea, vomiting, eye symptoms, sensitivity to light, severe pounding one sided headache) JCH MD
Avatar f tn I suffer weekly abdominal migraines, previously diagnosed as cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) but recently rediagnosed as abdominal migraine. The two conditions are closely related, in psychiatry. Episodes of vomiting and unrelenting severe nausea last from about 4 hours to 30 hours. Between episodes i am quite healthy. This condition began abruptly in 2004, I had been otherwise very healthy.
Avatar n tn If it was a Primary Headache, then I would guess Migraine due to the vomiting. A common symptom of Migraine is vomiting. In order to treat Migraine, acute migraine medications should be used. The first line treatment for acute migraine headaches are triptans. There are currently seven triptans on the market, plus one triptan that is also mixed with an NSAID called Naproxen. I believe that fast acting triptans are the best in most situations because they work the fastest.
Avatar n tn I have had every test under the sun - hidascan, full blood panel, h-pylori, ultrasound, stomach emptying, stomach CT, brain MRI, endoscopy, etc. Everything has come back normal and the gastroenterologist is ready to diagnose me with a stomach migraine. I get frequent bouts of severe nausea which can sometimes lead to dry-heaving, but never actual vomiting. Sometimes this can last for 5 minutes or as long as 2 hours. Also, the dry-heaving can relieve the nausea in some cases.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering from chronic migraine as a child but it is a lot better now that I was on treatment for a year. What I wonder is why does vomiting relieve my migraine attacks? Before the treatment I would vomit involuntarily at the peak of my attacks but now as the intensity of my headaches have lessened, I feel nauseous but dont vomit unless I force myself to. There are times when I dont vomit even after forcing it but the pressure from trying to vomit eases the pain almost instantly.
Avatar n tn It is unlikely that hormones explain the entire epidemiological variation seen in the gender differences in migraine, but considerable evidence does exist to suggest that there is a link between migraine and the female hormone estrogen. 1666593 tn?1303234895 ve had a lumbar puncture, went through all the blood work for viruses/bacteria, stomach x-rays and recently a upper GI scan...and NOTHING. The next step is an allergist, and then our pediatrician brought up migraines. Anyone else have an infant that has been diagnosed with migraines?
1415174 tn?1453243103 No aura and no migraine at the time. Blood work all normal, immunnoligy testing was normal and all GI testing normal. The closest my symptoms were was cyclic vomiting syndrome but I got this at around 23 years old. I would get these symptoms sometimes twice a month some times off and on. Usually, stress induced. Sometimes not stress induced. My symptoms have changed because I have been put on Klonopin for the migraine variant. So, I then had no stomach problems, but still had the shakes.
Avatar n tn getting back to VanessaMD after most recent allergy test, neck and head MRI. No one can ever find anything. How long does it take to replace blood? I'm small - 113 lbs, AB+, healthy, so I figure my body makes this rare blood, I need to donate it. I do, after each 8 weeks in between. I have no health problems except for these confusional migraines (what I'm calling them). I don't always have nausea, but in January, I got very nauseous, couldn't work.
Avatar n tn Aura associated with migraine is known to have nausea vomiting, visual disturbances like blurring, tunnel vision , slurring speech etc . Apart from others, exercise is a known trigger to migraine attacks and that’s exactly what could have happened in case of your son. Other accompanying symptoms could be increased urination, fatigue, loss of appetite, numbness, tingling or weakness, problems in concentrating, sensitivity to light or sound.
Avatar f tn Metoclopramide is a good medication to discuss with your doctor because not only does it stop the nausea and vomiting associated with migraine headaches, but it will also help to stop the pain associated with migraine headaches. Metocloprmaide can be taken even if you do not experience nausea and vomiting, it can be taken along with triptans and analgesics in order to improve the pain killing power of your other migraine medications.
Avatar m tn There are many migraine variants. Many--such as the ones I experience--do not cause nausea or vomiting.

511186 tn?1211113572 Hello Dear, The probable diagnosis of your father could be migraine as all the classical symptoms are present. Avatar n tn Hi, How is your boyfriend? Was he able to see his attending physician? Migraine headaches are usually associated with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. Rest, ice pack, avoidance of triggers and both preventive and abortive prescription medications from a doctor will help provide relief. There is headache tracker here in the forum that may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
