The brighter red the blood is, the lower the bleed. If your were bleeding higher up, your stool would be very dark, black and/or tarry. Since you've been thoroughly checked out, I think the blood is coming from hemmorhoids. They tend to put blood "on" the stool, tissue or in the water. Having said this, I'm concerned that your GI hasn't explained all this to you, and I would opt for a second opinion anyway.
It's now 5 days since I've had loose stool with fresh blood. I have had some stomach pain but not a lot - I've had no vomiting or any headaches. I seem to have a good appetite, in fact at times I crave for food.
The blood looks very fresh and some of it comes out like tiny strips. Also with my stool I get some gelly-like stuff and at times it looks a bit reddish.
I am a bit fearful to go to see a Doctor so I thought I shall post my problem here first.

I have stopped taking it 2 weeks ago, when I started noticing mucus and blood in my stoll.(Blood in stool is one of Chamix sidefects) Last week I went to see my doctor and he told me that it is not hemarroids, but I need to do some tests. He wanted me to do occult blood test and barium enema. I'm not sure if I want to do barium enema as my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I'm afraid that radiation from barium enema could harm the fetus. Otherwise, I feel good.
Hi, i am 22 years old, male. I saw blood in my stool about 2 weeks ago. The blood sometimes fall in lining with stool while sometimes it falls in large amount with no stool, sometimes it falls like a spray when i apply pressure to defaecate. It started with a diarrhea, i had loose stool and blood in it. I saw a doctor and doctor gave medicine and told if the blood stops with the dysentry, then it is a water-borne bacterial infection otherwise it could be something else.
If you have blood in your stool it will usually be very black or you could actually pass red blood...If you are having any stomach pain that you cant explain then you should probably let your dr. check you. One thing to remember if you have been taking pepto bismol or any antacid then it usually will turn your stools black....Something in the medicine causes it to turn colors...If that is the case then stop taking them for a week and see if your stools clear up....But i would still call the DR..
During this time I noticed blood in my stool and went to a clinic. I had blood work done and gave a stool sample. These tests have since come back within normal ranges and I feel well again with no signs of blood in my stool now. I am a 37 year old female with no previous history of blood in my stool. Also, there was no pain in the rectum area or straining during bowel movements. The blood in my stool scared me.
i have regular motions and have no irregularity in it. The problem i have is i get some lumps of blood in my stool.usually its black in colour . this blood comes almost on my every nature's call. stool is normal as it should be(not hard,not black) .i started facing this problem since i started jogging .i have reduced around my 10 kgs by jogging.

You might have hemmorhoids from straining and they can bleed. If it is bright red blood you have nothing to worry about. If you start having black stools then go to the er because that would mean you are bleeding on the inside.
TMI but, I just used the bathroom and had blood in my stool. I'm sure the blood came from my bottom, no pain or anything. FTM so I'm really scared. I called my doctor and she said everything is fine but I should come in next week to check. She said she's pretty sure it's hemorrhoids. I never had hemorrhoids so I'm not sure what to expect. Anybody else experience this? Please let me know. Baby is currently 26 weeks, 27 weeks in two days. Thanks Ladies!
If you have abdominal pain, diarrhea and some blood in your stool, you really should see a doctor. This could be something quite serious, then again it could be something simple. How long have you had these symptoms? Is it only after eating food that you see traces of blood or is it a larger amount? How is your energy level? Are you feeling tired/ fatigued? You may be dehydrated. Get to your doctor or emergency room.
Blood in stool is normal when constpated. What color was blood? If it was red like fresh blood it was you tearing your bowel while trying to poop... it's not dangerous just a little scary... I was constpated so bad I had more blood than poop once I got very worried I had never seen that much... I have a diploma for the medical field and had thought I had seen it all... well it was normal... try doculax it helps or get a prenatal with stool softener in it...
