Vomiting and vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting and vicodin

vomiting

Avatar f tn I did have it following gb surgery, but I didn't make the connection until I was actively vomiting.
Avatar n tn For each of these I was prescribed either hydrocodone (vicodin) and tylenol 3. I have terrible reactions to these meds.I feel sick to my stomach, very dizzy, and I usually end up vomiting or having dry heaves (not fun when you have abdominal stitches for a gallbladder extraction.) They didn't help much with the pain either and I decided the pain was preferable to the side effects of the drugs.
Avatar m tn Only thing found was high liver enzymes but I was told it was because I was heavy 250 ( I lost 30 lbs thought im now 220) My father was diagnoses with myasthenia Gravis but I do not have it from what the blood test and EMG showed. Also these symptoms seems to get worse when I had to start taking Vicodin more often (1 pill a day) instead of 1 every couple of days for my migraines. Is there any disease that Vicodin would make worse? Or could the drug it self cause these symptoms?
Avatar f tn It sounds like appetite is decreased during w/d and longer when getting off vicodin. Do most people loose weigth? I'm pretty sure the vicodin makes me hungrier while taking it.
Avatar f tn He goes out briefly and and comes back with a needle mark in his arm and face flushed. Then later on, he sniffles a lot, his body is itchy, nods off and on during the day, vomiting/nausea, makes frequent trips to the bathroom. I noticed red spots on his arm and several needle tracks. When he naps, his arms and legs twitches. He's very quiet with me and has denied his drug addiction so I don't bring it up anymore.
Avatar m tn I was a little shocked that you are taking so many pills per day and you have been taking the Vicodin for 6 months. Just curious, how did you build up such a tolerance so quickly? I also have abused Vicodin but I think the most I have ever taken in one day is 10. I have been abusing them on and off for almost three years.
Avatar f tn I found this website since I've decided to stop taking vicodine. I've been taking about 1000mg to 2000mg for the past 8 months. For the past week I weened myself to only 500mg a day (about 1 pill or 1/2 a yellow norco)... I try to go without taking anything which has made me VERY cranky, sleepy, achy... which I can handel, but I've been vomiting and I have to give and take 1/2. I'm doing this alone and my friends and family don't know that I have this problem...
Avatar n tn the wd's are going to be abd but not going to be twice as bad, after taking it for mroe tahn two years its going to be as abd as its going tog et..itsmostly mental..the good thing is that hydrocodone(vicodin) is a medium potency opioid so it wont be as bad as some others out there. it is manageable especially if you guys come up with a taper plan will allow him to get completely off and have only minor discomfort...
Avatar m tn - For desk job you may start working in 7 to 10 days. Heavy physical work is to be avoided for 14 days after surgery. Call your surgeon if you experience any of the following: bleeding from the surgical site inability to eat or drink difficulty breathing fever over 101 degrees inability to urinate vomiting. No where does it say you may or may not get an infection...so I looked it up...getting an infection following ANY surgery is bad news...
1019316 tn?1262615059 I took like 6 the first day, about 9 the second day, maybe 9 the third day and then 10 the forth day, then like 4 the last day. They were vicodin 7.5 / 650, is it possible I may have acetaminophen poisoning? I woke up today feeling like hell, throwing up, not hungry, cold and hot, had a restless sleep, and I did drink the night before. I wonder if it was just from the withdrawal from vicodin, but a withdrawal after 4 days??
1751415 tn?1315069443 it might be the pain relief and analgesia which could have caused feeling of well being and hence improved appetite in your father in law. You can consult his intensivist regarding this and dose needs to be monitored because of the risk of undue sedation and respiratory depression. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I woke up feeling great and now I have the shakes and vomiting again!!! Just hoping for some normalcy soon... Thanks for the support!!
Avatar f tn I relapsed on the vicodin and am now wondering if I should just continue to take the Ativan and slowly taper off of it? I don't know what to do. I don't want to get hooked on the Ativan and end up with a worse problem, but I haven't eaten or slept in days. I don't know what to do. Please someone help me.
558096 tn?1255887002 I am on day 2 clean of being of vicodin, and I feel like I would rather die. I've been vomiting non-stop, have the runs non-stop, sweating like crazy, VERY ANXIOUS, and feel like I don't want to sit home, but feel like I don't want to go anywhere. Any advice???
Avatar n tn Thank you everyone who posts to this forum. I had neck disc surgery just ago 10 days ago and had a dilaudid pump in the hospital then vicodin. Soma too. I'd never had a narcotic before but I have lost 2 family members to drug addiction and they scare me so much that I just flushed all the pills down the toilet after I got home from the hospital. For 3 days now I have been shaking, vomiting, sweating and crawling to the bathroom.
Avatar f tn m weaning myself off by taking half pills and quarters. It seems to be working well. I have nausea and a head ache but at least the shaking and sweating have stoppped. I can't believe I got physically dependent like that so quickly! At least I know for the future so they can give me something different.
Avatar n tn Thank you for giving me a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been taking this crap for ten years . . .8 - 10 Norco a day for a year . . .VIcodin, about the same amount, for ten years. This is Day One of me deciding Not To Go Pick Up That Goddamned Prescription. The pharmacy opened at 9:30 . . it is now 10:12. God give me strength . . . My shoulder, on fire five minutes ago . . seems to be better . . it comes in waives and then the pain leaves again. What the hell???
Avatar n tn It only just occurred to me a few minutes ago that the nausea and digestive disturbance I've had twice in the last week could possibly be related to my Vicodin. Long story short: my leg was run over by my van 5 weeks ago today (I know it's insane!), and amazingly no bones were broken. There was, obviously, LOTS of bruising, swelling, PAIN, nerve damage, and I was off work for 3 weeks with my leg elevated.
1027005 tn?1300050172 I have had a terrible headache for five days now, it hurts all over and when I do anything I just want to throw up. I have taken tylenol, excedrin, motrin, aleve and I even took vicodin and nothing help, the vicodin just made me extremely high. I am completely stumped on what to do, I'm miserable and with a almost one year old this needs to go quickly cause me being able to barely move isn't working out so well.
Avatar f tn I am 7 weeks pregnant and terrified. I have been using Vicodin for about 3 years due to a back injury. For the past 6-8 moths I have been taking 10mg 3-6 times a day, prior I was taking 5mg 2-4 times a day. I know I have a problem but until now would not admit it.
Avatar f tn I want to get some basic information that is relevant to most everyone and not specific to a personal situation. I have been a vicodin addict for many years on and off and have now been taking tramadol 400mg daily for about 4 months with an occasional bought of a week or so of 50-80 mgs of vicodin daily. I would like to know how bad withdrawal will be at this level when compared to withdrawal coming off of 200-300 mg of vicodin which I have done in the past.
Avatar f tn Hallucinations, nausea and vomiting and more.
Avatar f tn I have my first grandchild due in 3 weeks (Im only 36 I had my daughter at 16) but anyhow I have been up as high as 60mg a day (doesnt sound like much compared to alot Ive seen) I have been decreasing my dose every few days and today I took 15mg (3X 5mg vicodin). Ive been experiencing sweats today and just a shakey feeling but no other side effects......YET. At what point is it going to get bad or what do people think about the tapering Im doing...
Avatar f tn He is unaware of what real withdrawal is like and reading here about the vomiting and stress to the body, his heart cannot take it. We are very scared and do not know what to do with him. He will not do treatment in a center. What are our options? His physician has been his doctor for over 50 years and has given him is perscription and is too old and disengaged to try to help. Suggestions?? Much appreciated.
Avatar m tn BUT I is what it is. vicodin withdrawls include nausea vomiting flu like symptoms aches and pains in your joints and body, and the runs. just do a slow tapering till you get to about 1 pill a day and you should be fine. if you are truely at 4-5 for 4 years this should be easy for you then. I was only doing 6-7 a day fir 3 years and it was rough. I did a slow taper down to 1 a day and then stopped and I was ok.
1041243 tn?1375230520 but in my personal experience, thats all that vicodin does, too. vicodin makes me violently ill and i found that ibuprofen, tylenol and asprin all worked better than the vicodin...but i talked to my doc first, which is what you should do.
Avatar m tn You get VERY ill. Vomiting sometimes, diaherria....and it screws up your emotions, too. So whatever you do, speak to a doctor before you change anything.......best wishes out to you....
Avatar f tn I have never had luck with the immitrex . I usually get a script of vicodin for my migraines and that usually does the trick although I do have to rest in my bed for awhile after taking the vicoden. I have always had better luck with the vicoden especially if the episode is a bad one . I mean sensitivity to light , naseau and the whole nine yards . . I have never been able to pin point the triggers so that never worked for me nor did accupunture .
Avatar f tn For example, Vicodin can be 5mg of hydro and 500mg of tylenol as can Lortab. Or Vicodin can be 10mg of hydro and 325 mg of tylenol and so can Lortab. So they only way one will be stronger than the other as if the Vicodin was 5/500 and the Lortab is 10/325. I hope I have been clear in anwsering your question. If I haven't been please let me know.
Avatar n tn I have been on pain meds from Vicodin, Oxy, Pain Patches and currently on Norco as a result of a broken back which I had surgery (spinal fusion) 6 yrs ago. Off and on all the above pain meds according to the doctors. Nothing helps I have epidurals for pain but I am diabetic and the epidural causes havoc on my blood glucose. My pain Management physcian now is suggesting a Subcutex regime.
