Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting and ovarian cysts

vomiting

Avatar f tn Today she vomit up a yellow substance that looked something like the yellow part of fried eggs. Every month during her cycle she goes through the same thing. Fatigue, vomiting, and heavy bleeding. She do not have any kids.(not sure if this is any help) She cant keep anything down and she stays in the bathroom all day because of the heavy bleeding and more so the vomitting. Is it possible that she have an ovarian cyst.
Avatar n tn Last night was pain in my lower back and sides and this morning it is vomiting bile and the lymph node is still swollen! I am worried about cancer with the frequency of the cysts and swollen lymph nodes. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? What was your diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I understand why she would be so worried, but plenty of women get cysts and go on to have healthy children. Even women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome can conceive. Cysts are mostly benign, especially in young women. They rarely turn out to be cancerous and they can either be monitored for a few weeks to see if they can go away on their own or with the help of birth control pills (or other meds) or they can be surgically removed, depending on the size of the cystic mass.
Avatar f tn .Hi I'm 32 and was diganosed with ovarian cysts years ago, my problem is I've been really sick for @ 2 yrs and recently went to ER because I was so sick I couldn't move, that's where they found a 5-6 cm cysts growing. I switched Dr. last year because it just seemed that she wanted to put me on pills that didn't produce periods. I havn't had a period in 2 yrs and my symptoms are horrible.
Avatar f tn I have gained around 10 lbs in the past month, my stomach is bloated, breasts are swollen, cravings, ovary pain, frequent urination, irritability, vomiting, frequent migraines............ I have had problems with ovarian cysts before and now only have 1 ovary. What is wrong with me??
Avatar f tn Hi there I came across this site looking answers/advice diagnosed with suspected adenomyosis. Just the month previous to this discovered I had a large (over 5cm) cyst on my left ovary. Having constant symptoms for both so least I know I'm not going mad after years of it. This site has helped me alot thanks! wondered if anyone can tell me if a novasure endo oblation can affect in anyway ovarian cysts?
Avatar f tn Doctors will often intermingle the term mass, tumor and cyst. The symptoms you are having are also very common with cysts. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for more info on the types of symptoms you can get. However, there are times that they can't be entirely sure until you have it removed. Do you know what kind of cyst you have? When are you having surgery?
Avatar n tn I was doubled over in pain and vomiting from it. Is this going to happen every month, and will I also be at risk for colon infection if the cysts keep appearing outside the normal monthly cycles?
Avatar f tn Did your doctor not follow up on this ultrasound? The odds are good you don't have it but you should have another transvaginal ultrasound to know your current status. The symptoms of ovarian cancer and cysts are very similar. In many cases they can't be sure until a cyst is removed and biopsied. Please don't ignore this.
Avatar f tn My question is they tested my Alpha-Fetoprotein levels and they are elevated, is this common with ovarian cysts or does this mean I need to be concerned with cancer? Any and all information would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Cysts are a normal part of the menstrual cycle and most go away on their own, no intervention needed, as yours did in 2012. You certainly don't want to undergo surgery unless it's necessary. Iron deficiency anemia is usually caused by heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding. Some women are more prone to becoming anemic than others. Eating iron rich foods and/or taking an iron supplement would be a good idea if your iron is indeed low.

Avatar n tn I see that this is an old thread, but I am having this too; however I am 28 and my husband and I have been trying a long time to have kids. I have the thin, lesser common version of PCOS, so I am no newbie to cysts. The dr. recently gave me Clomid to help with our chances of pregnancy. I am the unlucky 10% of women who, with Clomid, will develope large cysts.
Avatar f tn t already followed up with an OB/GYN, and is still vomiting, bleeding, etc., and has a fever, she may need to go back to the ER. A ruptured cyst can cause serious problems if she's bleeding. Let us know how she's doing.
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
1291547 tn?1272158606 The ER said I had a ovarian cyst and that it was 3 centimeters wide and 3 centimeters in length. The ER Gave me naproxen to take and it helped with the pain, but when i started my period wednesday I started throwing up and having horrible pains in the left side of my body not in the right. I went to the ER again and they gave me a shot and said I could go home. I'm still having pain and I think I have Ovarian Cancer. Can someone who knows about this kinda stuff please help me??
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts and tumors? Often, ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms. You may not realize you have one until you visit your health care provider for a routine pelvic exam. Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. If you have any of the symptoms below, it's important to have them checked out. That's because they can also be symptoms of ovarian tumors. Ovarian cancer often spreads before it is detected.
Avatar f tn First off 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Most women with Ovarian Cancer, not all, are genetically predisposed with the BRCA mutation. I have BRCA. I had a grandmother and a aunt with ovarian cancer in their 50's. Ovarian cysts look a certain way on a ultrasound. At your age with no BRCA you have less than 1% of ovarian cancer. What is your doctor telling you? They saw my ultra sound and I was at the oncologist the next day. Many cysts go away on their own. Are you having symptoms.

4349241 tn?1358287277 Thank you for your reply, Dr. Also, thank you for taking time to read and share with all of us on this site. I'm doing well, considering. The ache has been reduced in that region, so hopeful it is more stress related. I am; however, keeping a log of symptoms to share with my Dr. I also want to keep track of these things to share with others, and will post after surgery.
Avatar f tn I have been having alot of pain in my lower ab.,nausea, vomiting, irregular periods, and pain going down my butt and backs of legs, and my stomach is swollen like I am 4 or so mths pregnant (which I am not) My results state: Two complex primarily cystic R ovarian masses with the dominant measuring 43x30x39mm and the other 36x18x14.
1327895 tn?1275001833 (Have both) Then, in February of 2010, was brought to emergency by my girls for same weird spells with pain in the stomach and the horrid vomiting. They performed a contrast CT scan of my stomach(upper and lower) and discovered a cyst with enlarged right ovary. Was told to see gyn/ob specialist for follow up. This could be causing my symptoms. Also had a UTI infection, followed with antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I am not a Dr by any means, but can tell you experience about a ruptured cyst. I had numerous ovarian cysts, some would rupture, some would need surgery. When I would have a rupture usually it was a very serious, intense, double me over type pain that would ease in a couple of hours, but still feel tender. My last cyst that ruptured however did become a more emergent surgery for me.
Avatar f tn What is the symptoms of ovarian cysts? i'm having a scan next week on my ovary's because the doctor wants to test for them.
Avatar n tn For the past several months she has been experiencing crippling pain and vomiting. The pain starts as nausea and comes and goes throughout the day, and then suddenly it becomes unbearable and she cannot function, and she starts vomiting. The only relief she is able to get is when she is in the emergency room and given pain medication. This has left her stranded on the side of the road more than once, and she has endured nearly every thinkable test in medicine.
