Two days ago my rheumatologist stared me on Voltaren and I am pain free for the first time in one year....I am afaid to get my hopes up as this seems too good to be true....I know this mediation can be hard on the stomach so I am going to make sure that I always take it with food...so far I feel great all the way around but it is only 2 days....Comments anyone ? ...Thank you..
I use Voltaren gel, and it does help. Soaking in the tub can help tremendously, and also ask about ThermaCare back wraps and if they're okay to use during pregnancy. (Some people think ice works best; I personally find heat better.) The ThermaCare wraps work for about 8 hours. You can wear them under clothes or to bed. Sometimes you need to string a bunch of things together to get some relief from pain.
Lastly I take Arava by mouth, I've found that of all the ointments, gels creams, and oils Ive been on for the skin, BETAMETHASONE DIPROPOIONATE OINTMENT is the best for the cracked dry flaky painful skin and the VOLTAREN GEL is the best for pain in my wrists and ankles.I did do the PUVA ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT Treament and it worked pretty good but I can't afford to see the dermatologist 3 times a week at $25 a visit and at this time I cant afford to buy my own light.
i am a 55 year old woman who has extreme anxiety and depression and worry constantly about everything, my children who are all having big big issues in life and my husband who has all sorts of problems can't even go into them all and i just have so many health problems i feel like a complete nuerotic basket case.
However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
It scared the hell out of me and that is when I stopped cold turkey. I still have pain issues but use something called Voltaren gel which help take the pain down just a notch for me to function. It is an NSAID in gel form (topical) and it does help. Keep yourself focused on taking back your life instead of the drugs. Find a reason why you want to detox and stick with the plan. Yes the vitamins help along with hot baths, hydration and a health state of mind that you want to do this.
He'd been through pt but was still hurting. She did an injection and voltaren gel but no drugs. He even had to sign a contract. Btw, I would not have agreed to him going on pain meds like we do. Way too young. I just took him in for the injection.
props to you, sister. I use Voltaren Gel and it works wonders for my hands, neck and back between pain med doses when I'm hurting. I don't know if that's ok with pregnancy or not. I know that it was mentioned on here before. I have also tried the Lidocaine patches, but had pretty poor luck getting them to stick and just about crapped my pants and the price when I went to pick up my rx at the pharmacy. They are pretty spendy. But worth a try if you have good coverage? Other than that...
My neck and shoulders are my bad parts...so I feel for you. Ask also for Voltaren Gel which is an anti-inflammatory...No one of these things will help completely. It usually takes a combination....for instance a Lidoderm patch and a couple of tylenol or advil. A good rubdown with the gel with some heat applied afterwards. You get the idea. Good Luck!
Hi and welcome to Part 50! Wow part 50. Please make yourself at home. Snuggle down. It'll be a bumpy ride but I know you Tramadol Warrirors can do it!
I am wearing mountains of clothes in a 72 degree house and am freezing as if I were in an ice cave! I found that using Voltaren Gel on painful body areas helps somewhat but it is very very messy and as soon as you put it on in one area the deep aches just move elsewhere in your body. I feel like I am dying! I'm not depressed. I am just very uncomfortable. I am actually quite proud of myself that I have come this far. Voltaren Gell is only available by RX.
I've noticed that both the Voltaren Gel and naproxen don't help for extended periods of time that is for sure. And I have tried the lidocaine patches and lidocaine ointment and both offer pain relief that is very short in duration. But the lidocaine injections that they use during epidural procedures work so much better! I guess it is because they inject it deep under the skin and tissues.
I use ibuprofen, Lidoderm patches, Voltaren gel, heat, ice, exercise and more. You are getting great advice here from people who have successfully stayed off their DOC. You can do that as well. Listen to the people who've done this successfully. Aftercare is tremendously important. How are you feeling today being out of the hydrocodone? What are you going to do differently this time? Do you have a counselor?
Anyway, after I got tired of just the up and down feeling and the irritability especially when it came to my children and always feeling distracted on them and for a GEMINI such a dry personality and off in my own little world using these for energy. Toward the end when I realized I wasn't only using them for pain , I was using them for energy and to get things done! I dropped down to just breaking them in half and down to 2 a day then one a day and then finally said I'm OVER THIS!!!
I have had to deal with this a few times over the last 30 odd years. 2-3 times for myself and with my children. First off this is not the ordinary itch that comes with a sunburn. That is the thing that people who have never experienced it cannot understand! They think you are weak or a wimp and have to "suck it up." This itch and the pain it causes, is probably the worst thing I have ever had to deal with in my life!! I have found 1 thing that had worked...
We didn't know that the woman's children went to the same school as my daughter, and here I was blurting out how incompetent the administration and some of the teachers were, so that got us off to a bad start. The neurologist (they work in the same office) had her tested not for ADD (since she has a lack of focus and can't concentrate - typical lyme symptoms), but for medical reasons. Her tests came back that she failed worse than an alzheimer patient and had emotional issues!
I have had two episodes whereby I am unable to straighten up, feel like passing out with sweats all over my body. The pain is excruciating. I have had four children and do not remember the pain as severe as these thigh cramps. I find rubbing a heating pad on my legs helps. I thought it might be coming from exercising as I do exercise, and quite strenously, six days per week.
Just to answer a few questions ... Never had any children never mind an epidural, no carpal tunnel, no headaches, no lumps and no side effects on Neurontin. I've never had allergies before but I'm pretty convinced this is brought on by something in the environment. It is VERY seasonal for me (August/September to February/March). A long time. I live in a moderate climate where it's never really hot and it rarely goes below freezing (Victoria, BC, think Seattle).
I had an epidural w/ the birth of both of my children and last September I had a spinal tap followed by a blood patch (basically like an epidural where they inject blood into your dural space to patch a Cerebral Spinal Fluid leak caused from the spinal tap). All of these "pokes" in my back were done in the exact same region of my Lumbar spine. Cooincidentally, that is exactly where my pain radiates from every night during sleep.
He may be fine for a day a week or a month, and then all the sudden he says he feels like he's weak and dizzy and feels like someone is poking his heart with a needle, his arm near his arm pit with hurt. He burps alot and it releaves some of the discomfort. Various other things as well. Generally he said he gets a "funny" feeling throughout his body. We went to the doctor years ago for it, and all they told us was it was because he had a fever of 98.9,(fever?)!!
I have had the same issues listed above but only since my children were born (the first 4 yrs ago). I am 36yrs old and I have found that I have to do very intensive core exercising to get that area very strong which relieves my issues. I am currently alternating between Gunner Peterson's Core Strength and Turbo Jam. Hard excersing but worth the relief. Also if I am sore in the morning, I use a heating pad before I get up and that helps tremendously. Good luck!!!
The appearing of my skin tag is small, nontheless unsightly and somewhat bothersome when cleaning after a bowel movement. And I would like to have it surgically removed as I do not know of anything else that can be done to remove it. Please describe in detail the type of surgery that would be involved to have it removed. How is pain level? I heard it was excruciating. How long is the recovery period?
I have had MRI's done of the Cervical spine(neck region) and Lumbar spine (lower back) I have a lg hernated disc in my neck and degenetive disc disease with an annular tear in my lower back. I am going to also request my doctors to do an MRI of Thoracic spine (middle back) because they haven't done an MRI of that section yet. I am not sure if the mid back problems is caused by these issues I know I have. I would suggest you dig into the problem more.
