Avatar n tn i recently gave up coffee, because it was triggering my anxiety symptoms, but the problem is that coffee always helped me to study, to concentrate on what i was reading, and to improve my memory. i tried to study the other day and it seemed hard to concentrate, but i don't want to drink it anymore in case it makes me anxious again. so basically, my question is - is there any other decaffeinated beverage that you know of that can help you concentrate, like a kind of tea or something?
Avatar n tn it is again a natural supplement ,this works on a sub-molecular level to improve Focus, concentration and memory , you can google it for more information.
Avatar f tn DLPA, CDP CHOILNE, 5HTP, L-Tyrosine, and Gingko. I've been taking the supplements for 3 days and I don't really feel any improvements in memory and learning functioning. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I am hoping and praying that through prolonged abstinence that the cognitive impairements can be recovered or somewhat improved. Is there any medical treatment to aide in the recovery process? Will impairments improve after time? I need answers!
Avatar f tn I have quit using cocaine after 2 years of use 10 days ago when I first noticed memory, concentration, and analytical impairments while performing work functions on the job. It was frustrating as my attention span became noticing impaired and I had to write down information from emails or assignments on a memo pad because of impairments in attention span and concentration. In response to the panic, I started taking cdp choline and ginkgo to boost memory and concentration levels.
Avatar n tn ) I think the concentration and your memory will go back to what it was like before if you leave this habit and improve your diet. Also, I completely understand about your high school grades taking a huge part in your college career- that happened to me! One test was actually what seperated me and my dream career, and that was very stressful, especially when I was not the smartest student.
Avatar f tn U know it sounds to me like ur brain is very low in Omega 3. Omega 3 is a good fat that can be found in large amounts in oily fish such as Mackeral... Omega 3 is scientifically known to improve concentration, lower anxiety and in effect 'wake the brain up'.
Avatar m tn The only non-prescription stimulant that is proven to improve concentration is caffeine. It is best to limit caffeine intake to 100 to 200 mg per day. I recommend taking it in tablet form. That way you know how much you are taking.
Avatar m tn ve done cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and alcohol. My issue is that I feel like I have memory and cognitive issues due to my past drug use. I have since graduated from college and hold a computer related job. I do well in my job, but can't get over the past drug use and blaming it for my perceived inadequacies. I do brain training programs like mindfit, sudoku, read books, yoga, work out etc. I am literally trying everything I can to try and regain my sharp memory and cognitive skills.
Avatar f tn   I became very nervous and stressed 2 weeks ago because the simplest assignments and tasks at work would confuse me.  In response, to boost memory and concentration, I purchased choline, DHA, ginkgo, and Phosphatidylserine.  In addition, I read that cocaine damages neurotransmitters and depletes serotonin and dopamine so I had purchased 5htp, dlpa, L tyrosine, glutamine, multivitamins, fish oil, B-6, B-12, and whey protein.
Avatar n tn ssris aren't for that problem. They're for depression and anxiety. If those conditions are the root of your concentration problem, they might help, but if it isn't, they won't. Often medications causes memory and concentration problems, as sometimes does going off them. So nobody can tell you if it's working for that since many of us on here complain of the meds causing that. Only time will tell whether a med works or not, but it's important to take the proper med.
2192208 tn?1346525832 Improving Memory or Cognitive Function - There are scientific evidence that G. biloba would be helpful. It is worth taking to see if it can improve memory and concentration in those suffering with memory problems. Not all results are positive, however. It seems that it might not be very effective for improving memory in people who don't have memory problems.

Avatar f tn I recently quit cocaine after 2 years of use 2 weeks ago when I first noticed impairments in memory and thinking ability. Since then I no longer use the drug an never will as 15 minutes of pleasure is not worth risking life and a successful career. The impairments were so severe last week that I couldn't even write an email during work and I couldn't understand the financial reports that I analyze daily as part of the job duties.
Avatar m tn I would love to learn another language but nothing sticks, tho this is a problem i've had since i was young my father being from another country, but no matter how i try i can't get my head around it.
Avatar n tn I was masturbating twice a day for three years then when I was 18 I started to masturbate three times a week until now. My questions are how to recover my body and how to be like I did not masturbate before ( is that possible ?). What is your advise about my problem?
Avatar m tn They may be able to teach you some techniques to help improve your memory, and can give you some general coping strategies for everyday problems. Also, how many drugs have they tried you on? Because this one might not be working. My psychiatrist has been tinkering away with my drugs for over a year now and it's still not quite right. I've tried six, in several combinations.
Avatar m tn I have been off it for about a year and a half and am still having memory, concentration and sleep issues that are causing job performance problems for me. As others have described, it is like my mind is completely different than it was, and it is very upsetting. The side effects are worse than the original depression! Had I known this would happen I never would have taken the drug. I am worried that I will never get my mind back.
1842804 tn?1319756311 Tried Provigil, tried Ritalin, ended up on Strattera and it's been a perfect godsend for me! (I did not have trouble with Provigil and Ritalin--they helped a lot, although Provigil had an uncomfortable late-afternoon "letdown" effect for me), but after a year or two they did not work so well.
648720 tn?1227637088 You have to ask yourself which is the lesser of two evils. I decided memory loss and inability to concentrate are the lesser of my problems. This is all information that I got from my psychiatrist when I addressed the problem with him. I have learned to live with this as a side effect of BPD. Because of other underlying medical conditions, I cannot switch my meds, but you might be able to. Only your doctor can tell you and help you decide what is the best thing to do.
Avatar n tn Nice post…Many menopausal women complain of memory changes. Moreover, loss of concentration, forgetfulness, memory loss and poor memory retrieval in menopause may be experienced by women in their perimenopause stage too. Memory is the ability to bring information back into one's thoughts while concentration is the ability to focus one's attention or thought to one point successfully.
