Common Questions and Answers about Vitamins prevent acne

vitamin

Avatar m tn I've battled acne since 5th grade, and I'm just about to turn 21 now. Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body.
Avatar f tn Is anyone dealing with acne like I have it bad on my face now like gosh lol. What is that a sign of boy or girlor does it have to do with hormones. Idk someone help me.
Avatar n tn I agree- I dont think think a lack of vitamins would cause acne- but it doesnt hurt to take vitamins just for healthy living! I use and love proactiv. I'm a 24/f and I also suffer from breakouts and proactiv works really well. Try drinking a lot of water too- it really helps clear up your skin! I know accutane works- but I also know a lot of people who have suffered some adverse reactions from it. i would search www.adverse-drug-reaction.
2066536 tn?1354241604 t really know what causes this, is it the increase in hormones? Are there any special body cleansers I should use, or am I missing any vitamins? Does this happen often? Any help would be GREAT, thanks!
Avatar n tn I never wanted to really speak openly about my acne but after reading Sean and your story i want to warn all future accutane users to realize this is not a 100% quick fix also to realize the side affects of Roacutane (accutane). i have had acne since i was 12 I was put on this medication when i was 14 and am now 23 still with acne yes accutane will problably make your skin look the best it ever has, if you are lucky for a long time.
Avatar f tn 9 weeks along and I've been breaking out like there's no tomorrow. I use to break out like this before I started my period. I'm only assuming it's from my hormones and/or the vitamins I'm taking. Either way, I disapprove.
Avatar f tn This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
1393778 tn?1280347609 hi i was told that takein vitamins helps improves the chance of getting pregnant is this true?
Avatar n tn I'm 17 years old this will be my first. Currently I'm 12 weeks 4 days and I've been getting acne; I know it might be because I'm still a teen but I never had it before. So can you get it from being pregnant? I do take care of my skin and body. Is there any way I can prevent it?
Avatar f tn What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
Avatar n tn ve tried using skin cleansers, lotions, acne creams, Biotin and Collagen vitamins, and even changing the temperature of my shower water. I eat quite a bit of protein (fish, chicken, and nuts) as well. Nothing seems to be helping me at all. I'd really appreciate any help.
Avatar n tn Make sure you wash this area twice a day when you wash your face. Neem soap may help. You can use white vinegar at night to dry the pores. It will cause some redness, which is why you want to do it at night. Or you could dilute the vinegar with witch hazel if it's too strong. It is very easy to miss your nose when you wash your face if you're not paying attention. And toothpaste is extremely drying and can be a quick cure.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if eye vitamins such as iCaps, or any other eye multivitamin, would benefit my eye health at all. While I'm not expecting it to improve my eyesight (is this even possible? And how?), would it have any benefits or effects? Are ocular supplements worth taking in general? I'm also on oral contraceptives and take a women's multivitamin & fish oil daily, if this has any effect on the above. Thank you in advance!
Avatar f tn I don't believe they are typically related, however, alcoholism can severely throw your system out of alignment (as can withdrawal for a little while) - diet, sleep patterns, social activities - EVERYTHING is going through a change so, I'd try to consider what is causing the acne? Hormonal changes, oily skin, change of season, new skin lotions/creams, etc... and work in reverse order.
10028419 tn?1416841704 Im guessing its my hormones from the pregnancy and maybe my vitamins because biotin has always broke me out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what can help my problem? I use Olay cleanser and I recently stopped using my clean and clean moisturizer cause I felt like it was making it works. Help!!
Avatar f tn I have tried acne products from a to z, herbal vitamins, regular vitamins, changing my diet, have done hours of research on acne, and have tried hormon regulaters. I have a doctors appointment coming up I will post what they tell me and the options they give me.
Avatar f tn Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne. Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos.
Avatar f tn I see people on this all the time talking about prenatal vitamins and im wondering should I be taking them? The only thing my doctor told me to get was folic acid and now im worried incase I should have been taking something else all along? :/ ... Should i get them? And also what kind? I dont have a clue about these things :( I dont see my doctor until the 26th..
Avatar f tn Im insulin dependent & in order to keep BOTH my weight & sugar levels under control i basically live off a chicken breast & small garden salad daily, oo & a Babybel cheese as a snack. I know eatimg a diet such as this i'm probably deficient in many vitamins & minerals. I used 2 take multi vitamins & few other supplements but stopped taking them after reading a number of studies about the dangers of supplementation. Im not sure what to do for the best.
Avatar n tn Just rub onto area of acne. I also work with Dermatologist that prescribe Finance or Clindamyacin for acne when pregnant.
Avatar m tn Through your description, it sounds like you have adult cystic acne, many times this is caused by a hormonal imbalance. It doesn't surprise me that steriods helped clear up some of the acne, but returned when the prescription ran out. Also, your body will build up a tolerance to steriods if you use them too much. Rather than treating the symptoms, treat the cause. Have you had blood work done recently to make sure all your levels are okay?

Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos You can also apply benzoyl peroxide creams or clindamycin cream on the acne. If the symptoms persist, then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist then.
