Avatar m tn My wife suffered for months from daily bouts of extreme vertigo then after taking vitamin D daily it has all stopped. She told her GP in Michigan n she was scoffed at.She continues to take the vitamin n we know it works. Why are members of the medical profession in USA so inclined to scoff.
Avatar m tn He put me on a fluid pill Dyazide once a day taken along with potassium tablets, and lipoflavinoid vitamins for inner ear and I take an Antivert for my sudden attacks of vertigo. Antivert makes me drowsy but takes care of my dizziness. Meniere's is not curable but they can treat your symptoms. Good Luck!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn I had vertigo for the 1st time ever in December 2014. Went to an ear specialist and was diagnosed with BPPV. Had a maneuver performed by the neurologist and seemed to have worked. I felt a little weird the days after the maneuver but eventually went away, but 2 months later the vertigo seems to be back. I've had this problem for over a month now and have no clue of what to do, I've had a ct scan, mri, and many visits to different doctors.
Avatar n tn Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth. Is there a test for Herpes simplex 1? I may mention this to my ENT next time I go there.
Avatar n tn Thank You Dr Paul for your response. On my MRI they found cerical disc 5-6 and 6-7 herniated. I have been trying to tell my Dr it could be a circulation issue to the brain as I have low BP. He disagrees....but when I wera a neck brace the dizziness and ear pressure goes away? He said the cervical discs could have been there for a while...but this all started when my neighbour rear-ended me? Can this be the cause???
Avatar m tn I am now on Amoxycillin 3x a day for 21 days. A lot of the stuff I read online is very depressing. But my doc told me we caught it relatively that I should heal just fine on the meds. How likely is this to be the case? My symptoms are headaches, joint pain, neck muscle pain, tingling in hands and feet and dizziness/vertigo. Mainly, I would like to know if my dizziness will go away. It is my main complaint and is almost constant.
Avatar f tn He put me on a heavy dose of potassium and the vertigo was gone within a month. I also knew what type of vitamins my body actually needed and got rid of the ones I really didn't need.
1903798 tn?1333905288 My vertigo was so bad the bed felt like it was spinning too...they may check u for an inner ear issue to rule that out.
Avatar f tn Hi thanks for the explanation. I did have severe vertigo last year and saw an ENT that said my vertigo was not an inner ear issue he suggested then it was neurological in nature but further investigation is yet to determine where my vertigo stems from. I'm often lightheaded. But I also feel like when I'm standing doing something I feel like things are moving around me. Strange I know but it doens't happen often enough to really bother me yet.
Avatar n tn i was told to take gravol for my vertigo is this true will gravol help my vertigo

Avatar n tn One more thing to add: till now I have taken 3 weekly injections. but, still feeling weak and unable to balance properly. Week 1 after injection: Not much improvement Week 2 aftr injection: Felt very good a few days with no vertigo or weakness. During this week, I also started taking metoprolol. Week 3 after injection and regular metoprolol: just 2 days now, still feel weak and dizzy.
Avatar f tn I also wanted to add, that when I first stopped taking the lexapro I had horrible side effects like; vertigo, brain zaps, headaches, insomnia, head burning sensations. The vertigo went away along with most of the symptoms after about 6 weeks. I first noticed sensitivity to alcohol shortly after that. Just one beer would make my head burn. It gradually has gotten better. I think because I went off and on more meds during the past year, it has put my body into shock.
Avatar f tn I have been light headed, dizzy nausea, no energy for 3 days. I had my period for one day and stopped. Ive had my tubes tied for 13 yrs. I get tired very easy, even though i get around 7 hrs sleep.

Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with Vertigo to months ago but lately I am getting this strange symptoms. I am extremely tired all day, blurry vision, numbness and tingling in my hands/feet. I am also getting shaking or tremors in my hand and sometimes ringing in my ear.
Avatar f tn I am a 34-year-old female. In November 2011 I had an attack of vertigo for the first time in my life. One week BEFORE the vertigo started I had a terrible sinus infection even causing fever blisters all over my mouth. When the sinus infection first started I couldnt hear well but I was on vacation in the mountains and thought that could be making the ear fullness worse. Since the attack of vertigo in November it has never really gone away.
Avatar f tn i just need to know if anyone has had severe dizziness for a week so far.I called my dr and they told me that i had vertigo and that it can last up to 2 weeks. Is this true.I can't do anything feels like the room is moving around and naseaus too.I do want to go to er but i can't really afford to pay $172 for it if i can get some opinion maybe i will go to er or maybe it"s nothing what should i do.I get dizzy sometimes but not this severe and this long.
Avatar n tn it happened everyday atleast 3 or 5 times a day maybe evan 10 times it lasted for about 5-10 min. When i take hot showers its hard to breath and when i exersize i get really dizzy, weak, and tired.maybe a week or two after i started feeling dizzy and a vertigo feeling like being outside of my body. After the pregnacy had ended i waited a couple of weeks to see if some of the symptoms eased. They dident. i went and saw a doctor. She sent me to the e.n.t specialist and a neroligist.
Avatar f tn I went to a neurologist that specializes in migraine because I know I have them (my EEG is positive) and she first had me tested for Acoustic neuroma in which I was thank goodness negative, and also negative for the benign positional paroxysmal vertigo and I am negative for that since it doesn't happen with movement of my head. So she put me on a drug for migraine called Trokendi and I haven't had one since the drug was at the proper dose. Plus a very lose dose (10mg) of Amitriptyline.
Avatar m tn Why do you have vertigo? Some people have it because of inner ear problems, some because of anxiety, some because of blood sugar problems, some because they go long periods of time without eating -- without knowing why you have vertigo, it's hard for anyone to help.
Avatar f tn ve been suffering from constant vertigo, and about all I have to show for it is that it is called vertigo. I remember the onset very clearly, it was labor day weekend of 2006, my first semester away at college, and I was climbing into bed when I felt a wave of dizziness hit me. Thinking, as sometimes has happened in the past, that I simply moved too quickly, I expected it to dissipate. However, even as I laid down, it didn't get any better.
Avatar m tn I am now taking hydrochlorothiazide (both for moderate hight blood pressure and to lower my water levels for the inner ear), and gabapentin for a neck spine condition (unrelated to the vertigo). My PCM states I am "suspect" for Minear's Syndrome but has not made a clinical diagnosis as of yet. Bottom line is I am trying to find a way back to normal. My work requires me to get up into high places (aircraft mechanic) and this condition is keeping me from my work.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I get vertigo on a regular basis but, I have discussed it with my neurologist in the past and put it down to migraine. I am diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis but he does not think I have brain involvement but he did do a bit of a backflip one day and say that there was a possibility that I had a lesion in the brainstem, I thought that a lesion there could cause vertigo.
