Avatar f tn I have been bleeding for over 3 weeks, extremely heavy with clots, and very bad cramps. I am 47 years old I realize it is menopause, but when should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn I’m 50 years old and just started menopause about a year ago. I’m 5’-6” and weighed about 154. Before my menopause started I weighed about 128. I exercise 6 days a week, I actually enjoy it. My diet was pretty unhealthy so since I’ve been on the phentermine I have watched my diet carefully, changed to very healthy items and count my calories. Initially my doctor had me on 15 mg once a day. I kissed 3 pounds right away, then it stopped. The doctor told me to take 30mg a day.
Avatar f tn First, I will apologize for asking this question because I know it is very trivial, and there are so many others that are important. Second, I would like to know about the great days a head that's associated with menopause. Now, I don't feel it because I am almost a month late, and for the majority of 39.5 years of having a period, they have been normal. I am very miserable. I feel like I am 2 or 3 feet tall and 5 feet wide.
Avatar f tn HI, Your symptoms can be due to lack of hormones and this can be relieved by HRT or hormone replacement therapy. However for this you need to consult your Doctor. Also a healthy diet and regular exercise will help keep weight in control and also help with the tiredness. Supplements of multi-vitamins can be taken. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor.

Avatar f tn The "over 50" vitamins for women usually are formulated without iron (or without much), on the assumption that the woman taking the vitamin would have gone through menopause. If that is the case for you, any multi that is formulated for women over 50 would be about as good as any other, for as much as they do anyway. (Multi-vitamins are not the best way to get your vitamins.

Avatar f tn I have since taken a different brand pregnancy test, and that is positive. My family history for menopause is very late (3 sisters). I have had no warning signs but am feeling slight cramps and tiredness unusual for me. I was told to wait for my normal yearly exam near end of July, and not to be worried if I get period meanwhile. I have 3 children ages 11-20 and would consider this pregnancy a gift...
Avatar f tn 075mcg generic levothyroxine for the past 6 yrs. I am also past menopause but continue to have hot flashes. they subside for a while but about every 3 months or so come back w/ a vengeance. i am taking various menopausal vitamins and supplelments, but those have stopped working and again the flashes are back. i am now beginning to wonder if the hot flashes are related to the thyroid and not menopause. Would taking a brand name rather than a generic drug help?
Avatar m tn m been in menopause for three years. I take half a Xanax and it helps me a lot.
Avatar n tn About what time do you eat breakfast and lunch?
Avatar n tn Thanks for the information. I am not sure what HRT means(Home Remedy Treatment)? Getting off Crestor is to see if that is the cause. I am now waiting for the improvement. Will keep you posted. As for menopause, I am going solo, no medications. I am not sure that's the right way to go. It's hot, it's cold, it's hot, it's cold, sometimes I feel like giving up. I try to take as many vitamins as possible including my Ratio-Ramipril, Hydrochlorothiazide and Synthroid.
216278 tn?1308861082 • Black Cohosh Root Used to promote healthy menstruation and to treat symptoms of PMS, menstrual cramps, dysmenorrhea, mood swings and menopause. Its ability to mimic estrogen makes it a valuable female supplement. Short-term, daily use may help stimulate menstrual flow in women suffering from dysmenorrhea. Avatar n tn I am 51 and have been on synthroid for 27 years. I am post-menopausal. I had a total thyroidectomy when I was 27 for papillary carcinoma. Oh I also had to have a total hysterectomy (still have ovaries) when I was 32. I was curious, in general, has anyone noticed menopausal symptoms being more severe and earlier onset due to taking synthroid and having a hysterectomy? I have 3 sisters and we are all close in age... 53, 52, 51 and 50.
Avatar f tn i am going in tomorrow to schedulue for a ovarian cyst removal. i have already had a partial hysterectomy. is total ovaary removal an option for me? i have had so much discomfort from this for several months now. i have had quite a few surgeries in the past and i wonder if i should request that they just be removed.
Avatar n tn I know there are lots of you out there with the same problem, I hope I am not going crazy by myself!!! Have been on same thyroid medication for 6 years, levels are good, feeling good. (most of the time).....started going through menopause 2 years ago (i am 55), after having thermal ablation, which stopped periods immediately.....just seems that my system gets wacky every now & then, is it double whammy with thyroid and menopause going on at same time???
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy at 24 and thus have entered menopause. I am now 33 and having all kinds of crazy symptoms. My doctor has me on Estradial and I have been on it since my hysterectomy. In the last year, I would say that the symptoms including hot flashes, have been unbearable at times and have been more frequently and more severly. He has increased the dosage since and where the hot flashes are subsiding, the mood swings are now way out of control.
