Avatar m tn I am a 25 year old female with poor eyesight (it's about a -7 in contacts). I was wondering if eye vitamins such as iCaps, or any other eye multivitamin, would benefit my eye health at all. While I'm not expecting it to improve my eyesight (is this even possible? And how?), would it have any benefits or effects? Are ocular supplements worth taking in general?

Avatar f tn Maybe ask your doctor what to look for? Id expect that most newborns would struggle to focus early on but will eventually look for eye contact or follow moving objects within the first few weeks.
Avatar f tn d talk to a doctor first to make sure it is ok to take, you could always take prenatal vitamins. Last October when I went for my yearly pap I told my doctor we were trying for baby number two and he prescribed prenatal vitamins for me. I'm not saying this stuff isn't good, but I'd just be careful.
Avatar n tn See an ophthalmologist Eye MD and see your personal physician for a check-up as this can (expecially if your older, in poor health or smoke) be a sign of serious disease of the heart, brain, blood vessels or eye. If you live in USA find an eye MD at www.aao.org or ask your personal MD for a referral. IF YOU SMOKE STOP IMMEDIATELY.
Avatar f tn I recently went to the eye doctor twice. The first time was for a new prescription and the second time was for an eyelid infection in the left eye. My eye exam results are the following: OS: Sphere -2.00 / Cylinder: SPH / Axis: 0 OD: Sphere -1.75 / Cylinder: -.25 / Axis: 177 Would my left eye be considered weaker than my right? I actually see better out of my left eye. My left has clear vision, w/ very slight double vision.

704043 tn?1298056844 Yep, I am a bit of a mess. I am not dx'd though so the cause is still unknown. My last Neuro didn't give my symptoms at the last visit much effort so I moved on. Both of my eyes have symptoms. Both the color saturation does different things and sometimes they "swap." It seems related to different things - sunlight, heat or maybe irritation of the area that is affected. Luckily it's not apparent all the time.
252327 tn?1250183976 Well I will try it because no doctor has been able to help me and I've been to several. I'm taking prenatal vitamins now for the skin and hair benefits and I have noticed a decrease in the mucus I might switch up and start taking the skin hair and nails vitamins. I'd love to not have this problem it really irritates my eyes and make them swell up and itch. Wish me luck!
Avatar m tn Antioxidants that are good for the eyesight found in supplements like bilberry are usually good for the liver too. In Eastern medicine there is a connection between the liver and the eyesight as an energy meridian is said to run between them. Drinking water and having plenty of detoxifying hot baths and showers helps to clear toxins out through the pores and the result is brighter eyes too.
Avatar f tn I received IV steroids for a couple of days for my lupus and I noticed a change in my eyesight. (better) I was put on 20mg of prednisone for 1 1/2 months and then I was put on 40mg prednisone for a week. I noticed that my eyesight was getting better. Personally I dont know if my eye problems have anything to do with the lupus. But does anyone know why steroids can help your vision and possibly what other condition I could have that causes the eye problems and responds to steroids? Help.
Avatar n tn ve had the hole for less than 6 months surgery will yield better results than if the hole has been present for a longer time. Also, note that there is an increased risk for your other eye developing a hole as well and cataract formation in the affected eye is high. Surgery, for macular holes can be and is successful. Just don't expect miracles. More than likely your vision will still be a bit distorted after surgery, but it will be far better than with the hole.
Avatar m tn My parent lost eyesight way back in 1984.There was on operation for the removal of a small cyst There was an air thrombus and optic nerve got damaged because of which eyesight got lost >We have been constantly trying since then for a ray of hope. I keep praying for a decent cure for optic nerve atrophy.Recently i came across this website and also discovered that optic nerve had been regenerated and transplanted in clinical trials successfully in America.
Avatar f tn I will see the specialist again on February 22, but in the meantime, I would like to know if you know of other cases where there was virtually no change for a few weeks after an injection, but that the swelling eventually went down and the eyesight eventually improved.

Avatar f tn Sir my question is that the requirement in navy is 6/6 6/9. Correctable to 6/6. But my eyesight is 6/9 6/12. However my eyesight is also correctable to 6/6. Do i have the chance to get select sir. Can pilots wear glasses during driving flights.
Avatar f tn I am 60 year old, and have had good eyesight, except for needing reading glasses now. However in the last few weeks I have been experiencing a lot of flickering in front of my eye, or eyes, not sure if it is one or both. It has nothing to do with looking at florescent lighting, or a flickering monitor. It seems worse in the morning, and coming indoors from outdoors. It is driving me nuts. Any ideas what it may be? There is no pain involved.
Avatar n tn Thank you John I will do that, I do feel fine but a little worried. but first I have taken anti-inflamatories ( 100mg Diclofenac) every day for years for my Arthritis but since being in China I have tried to cut down, this month for eg I have taken on only 4 days out of 16 when really nessesary, I wonder if those missed days has contributed to this eye ? condition. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn These are simple questions I guess, but I'm currently 19, and I have very bad eyesight. It's gotten to the point where the doctor has to ask how many fingers they're holding up in conjunction with regular eye test. I'm not sure if that's normal or not, but I heard it is only done once you go past a certain point of bad vision. My questions are, seeing as I'm only 19, is how bad should I be worrying about this?
