Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
Avatar f tn A friend with similar health issues as myself did a lot of research concerning this and learned about the proper formulation being key. She doesnt remember which B vitamins were the key for which problem, but it was reverse priority for her body, as she had also discovered. I asked her which B 100 brand she was taking, figuring it was going to be a good point of reference to start with.
Avatar m tn My wife suffers from eczema and is particularly affecting her palms of hands to the point that her skin is cracking. It is extremely itchy and she has sought medical attention with a dermatologist but the medication prescribed is ineffective. Anyone have this type of condition? Any alternatives?
Avatar m tn I am getting so tired of this skin disease and hoping to find a cure or minimize it once and for all. I put on Cetaphil eczema cream daily. Do you guys have any suggestions on this or any creams/pills I should take??
Avatar f tn My son has had warts on his legs since he was 2. He's now 9 years old. One came up on his ankle and it has spread into dozens since then on his legs and feet. We've tried over the counter stuff and that didn't work. We've went to a dermatologist even since everytime we tried something it seemed like more warts came back than he originally had. They definitely were multiplying.
681148 tn?1437661591 I have tried everything I can think of. My scalp is dry and itchy. It sometimes has eczema or dermatitits in addition to this problem. I've added healthy oils to my hair and scalp and left them in. In a short time, my hair is back to its dry, dull and frizzy self. I'm at my wits end with this. I have loads of allergies, so I'm careful as far as that goes. I don't wash more than once every week or every other week.
Avatar n tn I have had Eczema that has come and gone for about eight years now. It usually appears when I am taking warmer than usual showers, exposed to the heat or cold, or using irritating beauty products. I usually see them on my arms and sometimes my stomach. For the past few weeks I have noticed that I have small patches under my skin that are lighter than normal. They are sorta red and slightly flaking, I have noticed this under both eyes.

Avatar f tn i've had the same thing. I've been to 6 different doctors. For me, it's eczema. I used to be on prednisone, but my allergist told me to take zyrtek. I bought the generic brand from CVS and it totally works. I've been suffering for months and all it took was zyrtek for me. He also gave me hydrocort. cream for when it really flares up. It's worth a shot.
Avatar n tn I'm still testing for ALS, so I don't know yet what my physical future might bring. At the very minute I have a rash that won't go away, and in fact it is spreading. What started out as a little itch is now a huge area. One on my neck, and the other on my arm. I thought it was a bite now looks like a red bumpy mess. It is itchy all the time I've been putting aloe, and hydracortizone, and others all to no results. This is the first time it has ever happened to me.
Avatar n tn I have been on a number of different antibiotics. I have tried antifungals, tea tree oils, and taking vitamins. It has gotten better but it has made a crease in my neck and never goes away completely. I have taken the antibiotics which treat staph, strep, and other antibiotics such as minocycline and doxycycline. My skin is mainly just scaly and itches, every now and then I will get an outbreak of pimples.
Avatar n tn hi i am a 19yo male, and i have eczema and recently, eczema has developed on de underside of my scrotum, may i know is the fucicort cream safe to apply on my scrotum?

1029192 tn?1292981918 d like to know how on earth to control these (I know there is no cure for them) - I have started taking vitamins to help replenish my system, but they make me really sick, so we are looking at other options (possibly TPN) to get the nutrients I need back into my body. Thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone can give.
Avatar f tn Use aquaphor it helps.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist i saw called it rosacae something and prescribed that i sun-bath, which worked for some time. I kept on getting flare-ups of what is now classified as eczema by all the doctors i see. They usually recommend similar drugs like antihistamines and corticosteriods with increasing intensity. These medicines do not seem to work anymore and am left with a consitently rough skin that is somewhat embarrasing. I feel so discouraged and prefer to stay at home. Please advice.
Avatar m tn Does this just apply for clothing in close contact with skin? Or can I wear synthetics or wool layered over , say, a cotton undershirt or shirt with no problem? How about down jackets? Synthetic/wool jackets? Do the layers underneath provide a sufficient barrier? Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be dermatitis skin, contact dermatitis or nummular eczema. Nummular eczema also presents as itchy, red, dry circular lesions. If the symptoms are severe then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist because it is better to confirm a diagnosis rather than try medications. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I have had this issue for about 4-5 months now. My tongue is extremely sensitive to spicy and roughly textured foods. My mouth seems both dry and wet at the same time. Went to the Dr. she said it wasn't thrush, but it could be autoimmune, Sjogren's Syndrome, but that test came back negative. She's sending me to a rheumatologist, but I fear it's just because she doesn't know what it is either. I also was tested for HIV, negative.
Avatar n tn Its really depressing to think that I may have this for life is there anything that I can do to help prevent more bloches arriving?
