Avatar f tn the doctor who wrote it ran a treatment facility in UPstate New york where they gave patients amino acids and vitamin via IV during treatment.. He also counsels patients individually.. All of these things are meant to rebuild activity in the major neuro transmitters.. as addicts our neurotransmitters have been disrupted by our use of drugs.. even stuff like cigarettes and eating alot of sugar can disrupt them.. with drugs however it can be more damaging..

662361 tn?1225334507 What happens in many people who are chronically ill (myself included) is that we have a low vitamin D and a high vitamin D 1,25 result. It is the belief of some physicians now that this dysregulation happens due to intracellular bacteria. For more information, you can google, "vitamin D dysregulation". Q: My chronic fatigue illness started with infectious mono. After about a year, a very low vitamin D level was discovered.
Avatar n tn I emailed you last week about the fact that I had a Vitamin D level of 9, and that after 6 weeks on vitamin D therapy, my level is now 55. You asked if I had been tested for celiac sprue-- I have not. After Vitamin D therapy my TSH rose from 2.33 to 4.97, indicating that I needed to increase from 100 mcg to 112 mcg of Synthroid. I have been on the new dose (112) for 1 1/2 weeks. I am having increased appetite.

Avatar m tn Now looking into Vitamin C IV therapy. Most of you probably heard of the recent study involving OVC and V C injections into tumors. IV therapy seems to have gone on for some time. Has anyone done it? Hopw do you order the infusions of your clinic or MD is not doing it? What are the other alternatives if you can't handle chemo? Just on the curious side, in your clinic, are staff allowed to be on duty if they have runny noses?
Avatar n tn Vitamin B17 should not be considered a vitamin just like vitamin D as both are not vitamins. Glycosides and secosteroids being vitamins? What? The wise thing to do is to follow the doctor's indications as he is the one who knows the current stage of his cancer, patients blood counts etc. I am not saying that crunching some apricot kernels here and there is not safe and not healthy but special precautions need to be considered with patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Avatar n tn I suffer from seasonal anxiety during the winter, and I've tried various things from light boxes to Lexapro over the years. A couple weeks ago, my doctor suprised me by perscribing vitamin D therapy. I'm very skeptical about herbs and vitamin therapy, because one hears so much superstitious nonsense about these things. But I have to admit, vitamin D calms me down dramatically. Anyone else have experiences with this? I hasten to add VITAMIN D IS POISONOUS in massive doses.

Avatar m tn This premise is accepted with pharmaceutical drug therapy, but not with vitamin therapy. Most of the best-publicized vitamin E and C research has used inadequate, low doses, and this JAMA study falls right into line. High doses of vitamins are deliberately not used. Writes Robert F. Cathcart III, M.D.: "I have been consulted by many researchers who proposed bold studies of the effects of massive doses of ascorbate (vitamin C).
