Avatar n tn My doctor has recommended strovite one as multi vitamin with minerals. Are there any over-the-counter vitamins that provide the same as strovite one. I am looking for a less expensive alternative or generic form.
631676 tn?1333718203 But I have read that folic acid strengthens the actual egg too, not just the embryo. So could MTHFR have been effecting my egg quality at the time of ovulation - before conception???
Avatar n tn I started to take herbal concoctions, such as INTRA (a combination fo 23 herbs), and took a lot of vitamin C, regular multi-vitamins, etc. In 2003, I got exposed to cigarette odors at work In 2003 an x-ray revealed a nodule or 1 cm. I was given a pneumonia shot -- I was only 55 years old then. Dr. Cooper said I had emphysema. I went to see Dr. Ciuper for a second opinion. After Dr.

Avatar m tn Ohio State does a 5 box mini maze and you can get info on this if you google the term on this message board or on the internet. Quality of life does suffer and as one ages, afib tends to get worse. The vitamin D question is interesting. I have actually increased my Vitamin D to 1000 mg. per day, increased my potassium, decreased my Atenolol and I am feeling much better with fewer irregular beats. My advice is to get all the info you can. Email Dr.
5769965 tn?1374113938 7 “Although allergic reaction is possible, there is no known toxicity associated with high doses of the phylloquinone (vitamin K1) or menaquinone (vitamin K2) forms of vitamin K8. The same is not true for synthetic menadione (vitamin K3) and its derivatives. Menadione can interfere with the function of glutathione, one of the body’s natural antioxidants, resulting in oxidative damage to cell membranes.
Avatar m tn This is a very complicated question for a forum like this. We can't know if there's some condition you have that might be inhibiting healing. We don't know what you healed like before the treatment. The disease has effects.
98474 tn?1240105274 Just wanted to say Hi to all and let you know that after 2 months on vitamin b12, the overwhelming weakness in my legs is GONE after 6 years! The heat is not even making me feel weak! I am amazed and hopeful that this is indeed the main answer for my ms symptoms. I guess time will tell. If this is the result of my Mayo Clinic visit(they told me the b12 was not the total answer to my prob even tho they couldn't tell me what it was) then it was way worth it.
Avatar m tn A natural question to ask is how much of the vitamin D But isn't 24 000 IU too much? I read everywhere that Vitamin D (from food) UL is 4000 IU!!! ...Next this concerns sunbathing: 1. I googled that sun has to be at least 50 degrees above horizon in order to get enough Vitamin D. Is this correct? I used this map to find exact position of the sun at time https://www.sunearthtools.com/dp/tools/pos_sun.php?lang=en It says that after 3PM sun will be at 50.2 and lowering...
Avatar f tn They were convenient for me because I have trouble swallowing pills. Does anyone know if the gummy vitamins are of good quality, or which ones are of good quality? Many thanks for your help.
871965 tn?1241833146 For now my question relates to pre-natal health. I am taking a pre-natal vitamin and then some calcium magnesium with Vitamin D...any other suggestions. Of course I want as healthy a pregnancy as possible. Any advice is appreciated.
Avatar n tn Hi Cinnabon, While you ask about Vitamin B specifically (not sure which of the B vitamins you have in mind) you might like to read about vitamins "in general." This website has objective and generally well-researched info: http://home.howstuffworks.com/vitamin-b.htm It's a good idea to chat with your doc, nutritionist or CDE about vitamins, particularly when to take them if you are taking other meds.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Never tried them, never heard of them. Went to the site. Wouldn't personally buy anything from someone who didn't edit their website -- grammatically incorrect all over the place. Doesn't suggest professionalism. Second, info is inaccurate. They claim that their vitamins are natural and others are synthetic. All vitamins are synthetic. There's no Vitamin C floating around loose out there, you have to isolate it from something else.
776572 tn?1360290739 Hey There, Wondering if people have a good recommendation for a high quality, natural prenatal? I was taking Trimedesyn, which looked good to me as it had a lot of extras that most prenatals are lacking (like dhas, probiotics (although i wonder if they are still active considering the product is not refrigerated) and more, and yet my doc said the vitamin a was a bit high at 5,000 ius. I've since switched to SISU's prenatal but wonder if you ladies might have a good recommendation?
Avatar f tn What is important is to take a good quality vitamin, which means stay out of the drugstores and go to a good health food store. Whether you need a vitamin or not, nobody but you can answer, but just because you're not a vegetarian -- the vast majority of people aren't -- doesn't mean, I hope, you don't eat mostly vegetables.

Avatar n tn If you do choose to take vitamins search for a good quality vitamin (none of those brands you see advertised on tv or get at the supermarket- it's just money down the drain). Look for one that is food based since the body is better able to absorb the nutrients since it's like getting it directly from food you'd eat.
Avatar m tn I just relocated to SE China and would like to know the best quality of mineral/vitamin supplement at reasonable prices, dont mind paying a little higher prices if the product is in face superior to most.
Avatar m tn Hello; I have got one coronary DES stent implanted since two month ago ("Endeavor RESOLUTE RX"). I am on clopidogrel, aspirin, atorvastatin, carvedilol, enalapril and pantoprazol. Fearing about scars growing inside the stent's mesh, I have read that some people recommend vitamin E for cosmetic appearance of scars; well, my question is: Could vitamin E be of some help for preventing "in-stent restenosis"? Is it worth trying? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Empirically many medical approaches have been tried for treating this condition like using clomid, tamoxifen, vitamin E, testosterone, vitamin C,antioxidants, etc. A deficiency in zinc, selenium, vitamin B-12, folate and antioxidants has a negative impact on the quality of men’s sperm. L-Carnitine and acetyl-L-Carnitine are believed to increase the motility of sperm, by helping the transformation of fatty acids into energy. Avoid stress, alcohol and smoking.
Avatar m tn t make the same mistake I did, I have been taking Kirkland Brand, (Costco) Vitamin D3 for some time now, I was told by another member that a brand he had been taking had Calcium, so just to check what I was taking, I checked my Vit D3 Gel-caps and they contain Soybean Oil. Nice! I guess you cannot assume anything. and I am trying to figure out why my meds are not helping me.
Avatar f tn There a few of us who have been talking about what things you can do to increase quality CM. I thought I would start a new post here, so all the info is in the same place. Basically feel free to post about any supplements you are taking, how many, what brand. I've been taking Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) and will add a more detailed post tonight. Nunu was talking about Fish Oil and I think Dani mentioned Pre-Seed. So if you want to post any of your research here, that would be great!!
454026 tn?1236881142 I didn't take anything except Centrum Silver while I had 8 treatment of carbo/taxol. When I was on Doxil about my 3rd treatment I started to take AHCC mushrooms to build up my immune system. Oh and I also asked my Onc about taking Curcumin as I had read from MD Anderson that it helps fight the cancer cells. He said he heard good thing about it and I could take it. I sometimes wonder if they really know themselves. I also take the AHCC mushrooms in powder form.
Avatar m tn Nails at times do reflect what is happening to the body. The best way to find out if you have anemia or a vitamin deficiency is a blood test. The blood levels are compared to a range levels of the testing machine and then you will see if there are any issues. Thank you for your question.
