Avatar m tn I am 26 and have tried so many under eye creams for my dark circles and bags. There are so many to choose from and nothing has seemed to work thus far. I feel like I'm wasting so much time and money. Is there a more effective method and less expensive route that I can take?
Avatar m tn For instance, since it works by being a vitamin K antagonist, foods that contain vitamin K (like leafy greens) can lower your INR. Taking vitamin E or fish oil or aspirin could raise it, and make bleeding more likely.
Avatar n tn Try to avoid caffeine, because it promotes water retention and leads to the dryness of the eye. You should also apply almond oil or skin creams containing vitamin C or K, alpha hydroxyl acids and kinetin. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Avatar n tn I completely understand! Unfortunately, over the years I haven't found the miracle cure to lessen the appearance of those small capillaries just under the skin that lead to the dark circles. And the puffiness goes away only temporarily. I've resumed to a vitamin e eye cream (the body shop), a cucumber eye gel, and a really good two-toned undereye concealer (susan posnick). Let me know if you find the permanent miracle cure!

Avatar m tn I have read on a lot of forums that under eye circles can be caused by dehydration, malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, sleep deprivation, etc. For the record, I would like to say that I drink quite a bit of water daily and eat pretty good, I hardly eat out and I take a centrum multivitamin each day. I also workout about 5 times a week doing a little bit of something whether its running, pushups etc.
Avatar m tn Vitamin K is an essential vitamin but too much can be toxic to the liver. Vitamin K2 has shown more benefits to the liver, particularly in the area of fibrosis, also known as MK7, you can read more about it on the life extention web site. I think the verdict is out on whether this is a good thing or not for liver patients, and especially while on tx the risks may outweigh the benfit..
Avatar f tn Just got an email from the np that said she had talked to the doctor and wants to put me on Vitamin k 10 mg daily. I gave her the pharmacy number and asked her to send me the lab results. Still waiting to hear back. Have any of you had to do this before? What is the Vitamin k used for? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hello, Dark circles under the eyes are temporary and caused due to insomnia, smoking, a family history of dark circles, deficiency of vitamin K in diet, allergies like sinusitis and eczema, and adrenal gland disorders. Take rest adequately and eat healthy nutritious food containing lots of green vegetables. Try to avoid caffeine, because it promotes water retention and leads to the dryness of the eye.
Avatar m tn I also posted this in the dermatology and neurology forums, but I also wanted opinions from here because my situation kind of straddles a few medical fields. I figure the widest range of feedback is the best idea. About 2.5 months ago I was involved in a fight that broke out at a bar. During the fight, I was hit in the face with either a bottle or cocktail glass (I couldn't tell which due to poor lighting and the fact that it came from somewhere out of my peripheral vision).

Avatar m tn I also posted this in the dermatology forum under the title Laser Treatment for Facial Scarring, but I also wanted opinions from here because of some of the symptoms I have and the fact that it was a head injury. 1403795 tn?1282567667 Hello, Yes it is true that microdermabrasion is expensive but laser treatment is much more expensive that that. Regarding the dark eye circles, Dark circles under the eyes can be hereditary and thus if it runs in the family, very little can be done. Vitamin B6 (Niacin) & folic acid deficiency can also lead to this problem and thus can be taken. Some allergens can also give rise to the same and thus need to be avoided.
Avatar f tn Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Under eye twitch can also be due to refractive errors. Please get an eye checkup done too. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar m tn Blue dots under the skin could be bruises since they vary in size. Deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K could be the cause. They could also be fragile spider veins. The spots could also be petechiae, which are pinpoint-sized red dots under the surface of the skin. They can result from autoimmune disorders, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, bone marrow disorders such as leukemia, inflammation of the veins, as a side effect of certain medications.
Avatar n tn Apply cool tea bags, an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth, or cucumber slices to your eyes daily. Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, take vitamins, and drink plenty of water. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, take vitamins, and drink plenty of water. Avoid smoking. A cold compress near the eye can act as a short-term remedy as cold temperature constricts blood vessels, preventing the flow of fluid into tissues and diminishing puffiness in the process. Avatar m tn For the past two years or so, I have struggled with my dark under eye circles and bags. People constantly comment on how tired I look and I hardly feel I look my age...26. I have tried so many different eye creams (even the ridiculously expensive ones) and have had very little success. What creams, concealers and natural remedies do you recommend?
Avatar f tn How do you feel about the vitamin K shot? Are you going to give it to your new born?
Avatar f tn I think those who are opposed to a vitamin K shot for baby should do more research. Vitamin K can prevent a bleeding disorder, not blood clotting. Vitamin K aids in the ability of blood to clot, which is why it is given to newborns as a preventative measure. A lactation consultant friend sent me a link to an article, which includes statistics, about this very debate. http://evidencebasedbirth.
