Avatar f tn Hey there, I am just curious about some symptoms I have. I recently strained my wrist, but also have been experiencing slight pain in other joints and general body pains. I'm fatigued and somewhat dizzy. I've also been quite depressed, though I may need to up my intake of iron in that case. I had stopped taking vitamins for a time (my head was in the clouds, you could say) and just began again today. Are these symptoms of a vitamin or mineral deficiency?

Avatar f tn Which Vitamin D are you deficient of?D3?D4? I too am very deficient on D3,D4 at the moment. Wish I could get some sun myself. But, I'm very sensitive to heat, so that's that theory. Chuckles. Reading about all the medicines you're taking, makes my stomach go 'ouch'. I just read about Ultram will affect Zoloft's effectiveness. You may want to check with your doctor about the interactions between all the medication you're making.

Avatar n tn I tested my vitamin D level. What do my results mean? I just picked the last two levels since the article is very long.... "My level is between 100-150 ng/ml Although these levels aren’t toxic and aren’t usually harmful, they are thought to be too high. There are no known benefits to having a vitamin D level over 100 ng/ml.
5844567 tn?1378967719 How could i recover my deficiency of VITAMIN d3! i am 26 year female and my value is JUST 7.5 !! please help me out !! i am very worried !!

Avatar f tn I had a really bad constipation after my ivf ET, on D3 or D4 after my ET, i felt the 'movement' in my bowel, and i did use alot of strength to 'squeeze' it all out...and yes i must admit, is lots of strength coz the pain is there, the **** is there, it's coming but stucked... (sorry....) My question is: Will the embryos 'fall out' or will i have unsuccessful implantation? I'm current at D8 after my ET, i don't have any symptoms of pregnancy yet....
15848200 tn?1456634289 Vitamin D3 helps clear amyloid from the brain which aids in improving cognitive function. Keeping 25(OH)D3 levels at or above 50ng/ml [US] or 125nmol/l [UK] is an important factor in reversing cognitive decline. And if that isn't bad enough we have also known for years that Vitamin D2 speeds up the rate at which your body disposes of Vitamin D so the more D2 you take the more you require. Vitamin D2 is also less effective than D3 so you need more D2 to get the same effect as D3.
335728 tn?1331414412 He specifically said that D3 was much better than D or D2. He also said that the best dosage was 2000iu daily or more for a D deficiency. He listed the symptoms of D overdose, but stated that 2000iu daily was no where near enough to cause an overdose, even if your D levels were fine. He then said to talk to your doctor about it specifically before starting to take it. Of course, me being me, I just started taking it anyway. I could only find D3 in 400iu at the store I went to.
1532707 tn?1312155924 I do take it. When my attack began (end of May this year), my D level was pretty low: 25. The nurse practitioner I saw at the time had me take 50,000 IU weekly for three months. After that, my neuro said to take 2,000 IU daily. Not that we should consider her word the gospel truth, trust me. But I think most doctors recommend 1,000-2,000 IU daily.
1183618 tn?1277365106 The recommended Vitamin D dose for women is 400 IU. You should not go over in supplementation. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin which means the vitamin goes into our fat cells and the body does not excrete it. 2000 IU is the tolerable upper intake level for adults; supplementation over that may cause a risk for toxicity (increased calcium, weak muscles, weak bones, excessive bleeding, severe headaches, and kidney stones).
Avatar m tn the harm is from not taking it or not taking it daily (like weekly or monthly).
Avatar n tn I was wondering if anyone is taking vitamin D3 to help with their anxiety or depression? I have heard lots of good things about it. I know I personally do not get out into the sun enough. I did start on 1000iu per day, but my chiro says to do 5000iu. He thinks it will work wonders on my anxiety. He's never steered me wrong before. Love this forum.
Avatar f tn I second everything 9na said...I'd like to add that you should try to increase your dose of D3 to at least 3000 or 4000 IUs...do it gradually if you want to make sure you tolerate it well. Also, it's best to take D3 in gel cap form and with a fat (nuts, cheese, a meal) to absorb it optimally....I found it worked best for me to divide my dose in 3, for example, I currently take 2400 IUs with breakfast, 1000 IUs with lunch, and 1000 IUs with dinner.
Avatar f tn I tried to take vit d3 in a liquid form (dropper) 1,000 mg a day due to d3 deficiency two different times. Both trial periods, I felt weak, dizzy with heart palpatations. Have u ever heard of this reaction to d3?
Avatar f tn t swap the drug until say you have had 2 weeks with the Vit D3, otherwise we will never know if the dug you take now is the problem or if the D3 really helped.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D has a number of cofactors and the most important are magnesium, vitamin K, zinc, boron and vitamin A. The Vitamin D council state optimal vitamin D [25(OH)D] levels should be between 50–80 ng/ml (125–200 nmol/L).
Avatar n tn it is necessary to worry about this strange birthmark or it is a normal birthmark, but with non-uniform pigmentation (by the way for these two weeks its appearance has not changed in any way)? Or it can be potentially dangerous object and I should visit the oncologist? sorry for my eng. Best Regards, Andrey.
2200173 tn?1339840159 I had severe magnesium deficiency and after 6 months taking 5000IU daily of vitamin D3, my vitamin D levels only rose from 12ng/mL to 16ng/mL (30nmol/L to 40nmol/L). My existing severe existing magnesium deficiency symptoms worsened as vitamin D "uses up" magnesium to convert to active vitamin D in the blood. I could not get my vitamin D or calcium levels up until i corrected my magnesium deficiency. A good tip is keep magnesium levels optimal!
3221216 tn?1373640059 The research showed the various pathways that vitamin D3 uses, showing the antiviral properties of vitamin D3 particularly during interferon treatment. Researchers noted that vitamin D3 combined with interferon alfa has a synergistic relationship (the drug interactions are magnified, in this case in a beneficial way). Also noted was that vitamin D3 combined with interferon alfa decreases viral production more than interferon alfa without vitamin D3.
