Avatar m tn Most of the participants started the study with vitamin D levels below 24 ng/mL and were given 2,400 IU of vitamin D3 daily, while those starting with levels between 24 ng/mL and 32 ng/mL were given 1,200 IU daily. Treatment continued for 20 weeks or until vitamin D levels reached 48 ng/mL (levels in several patients went as high as 55 to 93 ng/mL). Twenty-four weeks after supplementation ended, pain returned to the original level in the group.
Avatar n tn The range for OK vitamin D levels is 30-100 ng/mL. Many of us with MS struggle to maintain 30 ng/mL, even with D3 supplementation. I alternate between 10,000 and 5,000 IU,Day and my last level was 40.
Avatar f tn After a year of treatment, vitamin D levels went up slightly in the placebo group, and went up slightly more in the normal-dose vitamin D group -- to 16 ng/mL for girls and to 20 ng/mL for boys. That's well below the 30 ng/mL level the U.S. National Institutes of Health states may be desirable for overall health and disease prevention. But kids who got 2,000 IU/day vitamin D3 saw their vitamin D levels soar -- to 38 ng/mL for girls and to 35 ng/mL for boys.

865758 tn?1285952904 There isn’t currently enough research to know if there is any benefit to having vitamin D levels this high, instead of levels between 40 ng/ml and 60 ng/ml. However, there is no known danger in keeping your vitamin D level in this 60-80 ng/ml range.
Avatar m tn Hi fightHBV Please check the unit of your vitamin test result again You need to take 10000 iu VITAMIN D3 capsules per day (not Vitamin D2), this to be taken with the meals (i take it during lunch) . Take for six months and recheck. According to expert guidance here our vitamin D levels should rise to 100ng/ml. Once that is achieved lower the dose to 2000IU or 5000IU I take Solgar Softgel 10000 IU capsule per day (i order online) during lunch time.
Avatar m tn I know the optimal range is 40-60, so I decided to take my final 3 vitamin D pills over the next 3 weeks as prescribed. I was thinking that if 21 pills raised my Vit D from 21.5 NG/ML to 40.6 NG/ML, then a few more pills should put me in the mid 40 range. I took my last Vitamin D (50,000 IU) pill in late June. Since then I have been trying to get more sun. I have also been taking anywhere from 2-4K of over the counter Vit D3 each day.
Avatar m tn Before further discussion, please confirm that those are Free T4 and Free T3, not Total T4 andTotal T3. Also, please post the reference ranges for those tests, as shown on the lab report. Your Vitamin d result is much too low. You need to supplement to bring it up to 50. Even more important than test results, please tell us about any symptoms you have.
1548028 tn?1324612446 My Vitamin D level was checked during my DX process last September. My total # was 25 ng/mL. The reference range is 30-100 ng/mL. My D3 # was 25 and my D2 # was <4. I now take 5000 IU/day.
Avatar n tn Out of curiosity, I took 25-hydroxy test again two days before and found the value is increased only to 18ng/ml i.e. only 3 ng/ml increase after three months. Incidentally I was having ear pain and went to ENT specialist. I told him my vitamin D level and he prescribed me Vit-D sachet of 60,000 IU to be taken once every week for 6 weeks. I took the vit-D sachet yesterday. After that onwards, I started getting severe back pain which is on and off.
Avatar m tn Harvard University studied patients with this cancer and vitamin D levels of about 25 ng/mL (63 nmol/L) or 31 ng/mL (78 nmol/L). Patients with higher vitamin D levels had half the death rates compared of those with lower vitamin D levels. A Japanese study found a similar effect for rectal cancer but not colon cancer. Neither of these studies used vitamin D to treat colorectal cancer. However, vitamin D supplements may increase survival rates.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Reviro 300 for 6 months and feel tired and did my Vit D test and below are results , please guide ways to improve Vitamin D plus profile (Serum,CMIA) 25 Hydroxy (OH) Vit D 7.90 ng/mL PTH-(Intact Molecule),serum by CMIA 162.
Avatar m tn you think it will be enough to take only 5000 IU for 2 months to get some decent increase ? I found here: "...If you are low (< 30 ng/ml), begin supplementation with Vitamin D3. I have been treating patients for nearly 5 years for low Vitamin D levels and in general it takes about 5000 to 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily for 3 months to get your levels up by 30 to 50 ng/ml." http://www.lessstresssurgery.
Avatar f tn My vit d level is 45 ng / ml. Is side effects of vit d3 causes abdominal cramps, polydipsia, polyuria?
Avatar m tn The mean 25-OHD level in the total sample was 13.2 (SD 11.1) ng/ml. Levels of 25-OHD 65 pg/ml). 25-OHD levels of 12-20 ng/ml were present in 168 (27.7 %) patients, of whom 47 (28 %) had SHPT. Following logistic regression, SHPT was associated in both groups (25-OHD <12 and 12-20 ng/ml) with a greater number of medical problems during hospitalization. In the 25-OHD group <12 ng/ml, SHPT was also associated with poorer glomerular filtration rates.
