vitamin

Avatar f tn Yes, the problems you are experiencing indicate that you have vitamin deficiencies. Pain in joints and weak bones are often an indication of vitamin D deficiency, an important vitamin a deficiency of which often results in osteoporosis and osteomalacia, increasing the chances for people to suffer from skeletal pains. So I would suggest you consult a doctor immediately and get some vitamin D supplements. Since you are feeling fatigued, you may also have B12 deficiency.
Avatar f tn What positive results did you see? Arthritis is the last thing I need! I take calcium, vitamin D, fish oil, flaxseed oil, vitamin C, and magnesium, I also have osteoporosis and I am 44! I am hoping to see an improvement in my bone scan this summer. Being hyper with Grave's surely didn't help.
Avatar f tn I was given two months worth of vitamin d once again from my new rheumatologist. When she asked if I remembered if the vitamin d worked for me when I took it back in October and November, I couldn't say for sure but now since I started taking it again on March 20th, which is once a week. I took the second pill yesterday and realized that the vitamin d makes my right hip hurt with radiating pain down my leg.
Avatar f tn My doctor just wants to run calcium, Vitamin D and PTH again in a month. How high is Vitamin D in hypervitaminosis?
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 18 and was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency in Feburary earlier this year with a level of 15nmol and was only put on 800iu a day. However my symptoms got very bad by July so I was put on a weekly tablet of 20,000iu d3 a week and after just 4 weeks my levels had risen up to 110nmol so I carried on taking the weekly dose for 4 more weeks but my doctor never repeated my blood test at the end of it.
500238 tn?1255131214 I can personally attest to symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency. I was recently tested after 6 months of pain and doctors looking at me like, "we don't know," until I found a qualified doctor who performed the proper tests. My levels are 11.8 ng/ml. I have seen sites that call this moderate and others that call it severe. The current recommendations refer to this as severe deficiency.
Avatar n tn My level was 23 which was within normal range but was still treated with Vitamin D regiment for 12 weeks. Rheumatologist wanted it around 35-38. As far as your achiness throughout the body - ask your doctor to check for adrenal insufficiency. I thought my body pain was low Vit D but it continued after treatment. Bones, muscles, joints, ligaments all hurt. I don't have a thyroid but my levels were within normal range. Nothing I took got rid of this type of pain.
460348 tn?1213452322 I had those levels checked even before I started taking a good multi-vitamin. The levels were extremely high but high enough for me to wonder why??? My Vitamin D level was 69.80 on a scale of 15.9 - 52.6. I will definitely let everyone one WHEN I get into the endo. Thanks for your repsonses.
1040744 tn?1253048126 I also experience stiffness, and pain in the muscles surrounding my joints. I had all the tests run for Lupus, RA, Lyme Disease , Vitamin D deficiency and they all came back negetive. I changed doctors and am having her do all the tests again ( just in case). She also indicated that it could be a thyroid issue or an unseen infection. She is testing me for thses as well. Hopefully I get to a resoulution soon. I definately feel what you are going through.
Avatar f tn 4 months back I was diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency with a level of 4ng/ml; extremely low. I had range of symptoms e.g extreme tiredness, severe anxiety, insomnia, sleep paralysis, explosive head syndrome, tingling and numbness etc. My first thought was I might have MS. And whichever disease I would look on internet I had majority of associated symptoms. This was due to severe anxiety caused by low vitamin d.
Avatar m tn It can also cause you to be low on vitamin D to start with. You get arthritis , therefore neck pain stiff neck aches on joints. PLease Maybe not ALL of you have it but if I save one person Ill be happy. GOD bLESS...
Avatar f tn You should get your vitamin d levels checked.

550622 tn?1247656720 My Endo has prescribed for me to take 50,000 IU of Vitamin once a week for three months due to a Vitamin D deficiency (level was 16). Has anyone else been diagnosed with this and taken that high amount of Vitamin D? I have Graves Disease, but am currently in remission. The Endo does lab work every 2 months and keeps close tabs on my progress. Thanks for any comments!
Avatar m tn cpk is just vitamin d deficiency, statins are the most common drugs to evelate cpk and vitamin d lowers it and prevents elevation.also vit b 12 can be added but it is vit d to prevent/lower cpk http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3690793/ http://www.medscape.
168348 tn?1379357075 Vitamin D2 was the first synthetic form of Vitamin D and is the form of vitamin d in all Vegan Vitamin D. It was used, and still is in many cases, to fortify foods, make some Vitamin D supplements and is the basis for ALL Prescription Vitamin D. D2 (ergocalciferol) has lower bioactivity, poorer stability, and shorter duration of action, resulting in approximately 33% lower potency compared with vitamin D3. Vitamin D2 made from yeast, vitamin D3 made from lanolin. Hope that this helped.

Avatar n tn t really do much to bring up the blood serum level. People with autoimmune disorders tend to run low on vitamin D. If you suspect the D dose is causing a problem, I would try skipping a dose and see if the pattern continues. A dexa scan, which is a simple test for bone density, is probably in order since she is menopausal, if only to get a baseline for future comparison. arthritis dot org is a good place for information about blood tests, what they're for and what the results mean.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D serum indicates vitamin D deiciency. Optimal vitamin D range is 40 - 60 ng/L (100 - 150 nmol/L). Alkaline phosphatase will rise due to vitamin D deficiency. Low MCH is hypochromic anaemia which is most commonly due to iron deficiency. High RDW is also seen with iron deficiency anaemia. Neutrophils and RBC may be high due to vomiting. Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency includes bone pain, joint pain and night sweating, fatigue.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing tingling in my hands and in my face recently and after getting a physical done in February the only thing that was abnormal was my vitamin D level. Could this be causing my tingling?
Avatar f tn so, if could be inflammation from a vitamin deficiency. Like vitamin K or D etc. Gluten allergy or Fibromyalgia . There is also items like conditions that keep a person from processing vitamin D by way of the sun. Have you ever had a tan. Ever had a allergy test.
Avatar m tn The strange thing is here now! While taking the vitamin D of 60,000 IU per week, I checked up my vitamin D level and it gave me a shocking result. This test result said that my vitamin D level was ">160 ng/mL". I informed this strange matter to my doctor but he told me that it was cool. I cannot understand how more than 160 ng/mL is good and cool! However, i continued taking the supplements as doctor said. One month has gone more after that shocking test result.
Avatar f tn I could use some advise. My yearly blood tersts showed a Vitamin D deficiency.I am currently on 50,000 units of Vitamin D therapy for 8 weeks. How much should I take after that time? I have noticed my joints and muscles get sore after exercise, and I now have a groin pull from vigorous leg exercises. I am a 64 yr. old woman, which I know is a contributing factor to joint stiffness. I use a sunscreen daily(allergy to sun) and am on HBP med, cholesterol, aspirin, and anxiety meds, plus a fluid pill.

Avatar f tn Having rheumatoid arthritis can be considered as a risk factor for fibromyalgia. A lack of vitamin D is associated with higher risk of rheumatoid arthritis. A correct intake of vitamin D, along with calcium is very important in protecting the health of our bones. Low vitamin D may lead to early progression of the disease. You need to see a specialist. Your doctor will advise you to start vitamin D supplements.
