Avatar m tn Hence, where there is low levels of Vitamin D there is always a threat of low calcium levels, and in extreme cases it may lead to a bone disease. It would be a good idea to check the calcium levels, If your Vitamin D levels are very low, just to be sure. And the same can be corrected over time with combination of calcium plus vit D supplements as prescribed by the doctor.

Avatar f tn with some worry-some issues, Did blood work and the only thing that came back abnormal was my vitamin D levels and B12 , which my Dr.. does not seem too concerned about. My vitamin D level was 11 , 3 months ago and I went to my Dr. feeling worse than ever, she did another round of blood work and I am at a 8.2. She told me to take 5,000 IU a day and check back in 3 months. Was wondering why it is getting so low so fast, I feel at least?

Avatar f tn It is where I learned how important it is to take magnesium in particular with vitamin D in order to get the most benefit from the vitamin D supplements. You should be able to find some archived newsletters on the site, too. Just Google "Vitamin D Council". It is a good idea to build up to it, as the above post says. Some people, especially people with autoimmune issues, are particularly sensitive to vitamin D supplements.

It mostly seems like problems with the source/ingredient side-effects for instance if the Vitamin D is made from Lanolin.

The range is 30-100 and mine is 38 I suffer from hypo symptooms and cant seem to raise my T3 levels as they continue to remain at the very low range at 2.6 with 2.5 being the low end. I have alot of joint pain but if I raise my med levels I get breathlessness, which I cant tolerate, so any suggestions. My vitamin B levels were all good. Thank you for any advice!

She perscribed me vitamin D 50,000iu one a day for 1 week then 1 a month for 3 months.She stated she was confident i would feel alot better in just a week. my question is why? are they two closely related, vitamin d and testerone? thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn New studies show that Vitamin D deficiency is more prevalent all the time. I had some blood work done, and it showed I was deficient. I take a liquid version of it once a day and it equals 5000IU. It is good for osteoporosis, sometimes will help lower cholesterol, in some cases, helps depression, and fibro.
Avatar f tn I think people who have had thyroid problems have been low on Vit D levels at one time or another. I was on the exact same dose as you for tweleve weeks. I think it is caused by the thyroid problems, but I am not a scientist. Where you low on B12 as well?
