Avatar n tn s my background, two years ago I developed an intense tingling and numbness in both hands and wrists. I was initially treated for Carpal Tunnel, but EMG results are negative and an MRI of the wrist shows no nerve entrapment within the carpal tunnel. X-rays were performed and no structural abnormality was found. MRI and CT scans of brain and C spine were performed with nothing found of note. Rhumatological tests were done, again with nothing found.

Avatar f tn Doctors place electrodes on the wrists, elbows, ankles and applied small amounts of current to judge whether your muscles are functioning well. This technique foretold that I would have carpel-tunnel syndrome in future years. I developed carpal-tunnel in both wrists and later had operations to correct the stinging pain every night. I was also told that the same diagnosis, but with a different name, would soon occur in my ankles and feet.
Avatar f tn Try adding extra Vitamin B6 to your diet, this could be the beginning of a form of carpal tunnel. Also, add a good, food grade multi-mineral complex and vitamin complex to your diet, this will help as well.

Avatar n tn Hi, hand tingling could be due to neuropathy associated with cervical spondylosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, vascular insufficiency, calcium and vitamin B deficiency, thyroid disorder etc. Please elaborate the symptoms, which portion of hand is affected. How old are you and do you have diabetes?
Avatar m tn It can be due to nerve compression which can be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. This occurs due increased pressure on the nerve secondary to hereditary, hypothyroidism, obesity etc. The other possibilities are diabetes, vitamin B5 and B12 deficiency and fibromyalgia. You need to undergo evaluation like thyroid status, blood sugar, CSF analysis and certain serological tests.
