Avatar n tn Hello, For boosting up the hemoglobin count you have to take an iron and vitamin B 12 and folic acid rich diet. You can have iron rich foods like liver, lean red meats, beans like kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils, iron fortified whole grains, green vegetables like spinach, tofu, broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, chicken, nuts, egg yolk and dry fruits. Non vegetarian diet is rich in vitamin B 12 and should be taken regularly.
Avatar n tn If you already eat a diet with a lot of vegetables then no. Your body already has the vitamin B it needs for your metabolism. If your like most Americans with a diet seriously lacking the daily requirements of vitamin B then yes. Taking one will boost your metabolism until the body processes it out of your system. Which is also why taking a second one 5 hours later doesn't give you nearly the strong effect the first one had.

Avatar f tn t want to buy separated vitamins B complex but i still B are too low for someone dieting. A good B complex will give you 50 mg/mcg of each Bs and Centrum Performance will only give you from 6 to 18 in other Bs but a good 40mg Niacin ( B3 ) which is good. If your diet is mainly vegetables you should consider amino acids supplements.
Avatar m tn I now take 25,000 to 30,000 milligrams of vitamin C orally every day; large amounts of B-complex; a mega-multi vitamin; lecithin; desiccated liver tablets; chelated magnesium; and vitamin E. "The results of my latest tests (taken last week) show the lowest level of bilirubin and lowest liver function scores in over a year. And this without any Prednisone. "My doctor is surprised and still skeptical about megavitamins.
Avatar n tn "HCV infection significantly lowered vitamin B(6) and folate (p<0.05). Therapy caused further decrease in vitamin B(6) (p<0.05), and also significantly decreased vitamins B(1) and B(2) (p<0.05). This anti-HCV therapy caused more patients to exhibit insufficient iron status. HCV infection elevated plasma level of malondialdehyde and 8-isoprostane, and therapy further exacerbated lipid oxidation (p<0.05).

1126695 tn?1261597496 For the vitamins supplement i recommend a multi-vitamins/minerals like Centrum + a good vitamin C ( 1,000mg with calcium ) + a vitamin B complex. Consider Green+ or SuperFoodRX as a daily intake too which is rich in nutriments. Please consider that I'm not a doctor nor a nutritionist therefore i recommend you ask a doctor what would be a good intake for your age/weight.
Avatar f tn Warfarin which antagonizes vitamin K increases calcification of the arteries. Vitamin K is concerned with the formation of a protein called matrix gla protein (MGP). This protein protects against arterial calcification. It is clear that vitamin K deficiency leads to reduced formation of MGP and therefore, the onset of hypertension is promoted.
Avatar n tn To help the iron absorption you should consider taking a good vitamin C ( 1,000mg ) this good vitamin C can be bough at your local food supplement store. Also consider buying a vitamin B complex ( it is critical you get a good vitamin B complex from the food supplement store ) which also helps the absorption of iron and general increase in your metabolism functions and cells and in your case we are interested in red blood cells that help prevent anemia which can be increased with vitamins B.

689528 tn?1364135841 I haven't experienced morning sickness yet. (Fingers crossed I don't) At times I'll get like a hot spell and maybe feel a little nauseated but it never lasts longer than a minute. Anyway...was wondering if everyone takes extra vitamin B?! It's supposed to help and while TTC I started taking B50 complex and I am still continuing it. I think this may be why I don't feel sick.....LOL I'll keep ya updated though cuz I'll just be 5 weeks tomorrow!!
