Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn This will be covered under your health insurance - not your vision plan because you are not being see for glasses but rather for a medical problem - blurred vision and sore, tired, dry eyes. Again this should be covered under your medical insurance just as if you went to your primary care doctor for a cold. It's a medical problem. Again, your story does not suggest optic neuritis to me.
Avatar f tn Please get another opinion before proceeding. You will never regret doing this. It's possible that a clear lens exchange will improve your vision, but it's also possible that it will offer you no benefits and a lot of frustration.
Avatar f tn One of the most popular and important provisions of the Affordable Care Act is setting basic minimum standards of medical insurance coverage.
Avatar f tn actually 2 years back i had retina infection and my whole vision is gone but after that surgery my blurry vision is come my center vision is dark blur but my peripheral vision is light blur my ms retina specialist told mi that i cant see like my before clear vision so sir tell mi that there is any treatment is available for that type of condition?
280369 tn?1316702041 If it is solely a cost factor, you might consider vision insurance. Most vision plans replace lens every year, frames every 2 years. It certainly is a cost saver for me in purchasing my glasses.
Avatar f tn There is no 'Obama Care Insurance Plan' Obama care is the affordable health care act which is a set of laws and regulations on health insurance. Every state implements it differently. Some states with democratic government expanded medicaid so more people would have access to very cheap insurance. Check with your state to see if you qualify. If you are not eligible or live in a state that did not expand you have to go to the online market.
Avatar f tn Optic Nerve Swelling is associated with infections, autoimmune disease, and injury to the optic nerve, and causes you vision problems. In most cases, normal vision returns without any special treatment. But for severe conditions, treatment with intravenous corticosteroids is recommended.
Avatar f tn I don't know how long ago this occurred. If you flushed the eye immediately, and there is no pain or decrease in vision, then you can use artificial tears for comfort until the burning improves. Also, STOP smoking!
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response to my question re "relaxing incision". I had a 2nd opinion at the same clinic where I had the cataract surgery. My surgeon did not want to see me again after the 3 wk. post op visit until I was ready to do the right eye surgery. I was not happy with the results of the Restor Lens and sought a 2nd opinion with the head of the dept., world renowned doctor. He said give it more time - I did, but no visual improvement of any kind.
Avatar f tn My insurance runs out on the first of Janurary, I am not elgible for state medicaid. Do anyone has obama care insurance? If so, has it helped out with the costof doctor visit, lab cost, blood work and prescription? Do you have a high premium bill? deductible or co-pay? How much would you have to pay if you are a single mom or married?
Avatar n tn Your script has no astigmatism correction, if that's what you need. Since you don't need readers, why bother remaking the glasses? I predict that you'll never wear those $450 readers. Go for a full refund, and use your insurance benefits to get some nice sunglasses (at a different optical shop.) Maybe you'd do better seeing an ophthalmologist, or at least find an experienced optometrist who doesn't push Scientology literature.
Avatar f tn My parents make less than 40,000K w/ combined incomes with no insurance or medical care. And even though they pay into the WELFARE system are unable to reap from the benefits!!! But I appreciate your concern in this matter!!!!
Avatar m tn I am freaking out because my husband carries our health insurance and all the benefits for the household. IF he loses his job, we lose benefits and everything.....
7471685 tn?1393400778 I want to commend you, Marie, for wanting to take care of your eyes. Bilberry and Lutein are the primary supplements recommended for eye care. There are some good formulas also from health food stores which contain these two plus others that can make your eyes stronger and healthier. If you find that your eyes have a tendency to get dry, you can use some artificial tears. Systane Ultra was recommended to my mom by our specialist.
Avatar m tn He has 6/24 vision on both eyes and find dificulties in reading and writing. Is operation adviceable at this age and how much vision improve. Waiting for a positive response... Thanks....
Avatar m tn When the blood sugar gets better, your vision can actually get better or worse - the bottom line is that it changes. Now we really don't know how your blood sugar is doing - so it is very important to have a testing device at home and your insurance plan should pay for one. Talk to your doctor. Strictly follow all your doctor's instructions. Make sure you have a nutritionist help you with proper diet and see an ophthalmologist right away to see how the eyes are doing.
Avatar n tn First of all, get health insurance!! Find whatever you can. Work benefits? Does your state offer any assistance. I live in Ma and its mandatory to have health insurance, you get fined if you don't and employers must offer it. The state helps to get you health insurance with consideration of your income. If I were you I'd be concerned. You almost had a seizure in the shower! What if you hit or head on the tub or when you were trying to get out?
Avatar f tn They also want to see the patient back for some of the post cataract surgery care. that way they can get some of the insurance money for post operative care especially with medicare. This used to be called "fee splitting" and was both illegal and unethical. But medicare changed the law. There have been state bills introduced so that if an optometrist will receive "co-management" money back from the surgical fee the optom is required to tell patients this before referral.
Avatar m tn Can the symfony be set so that it provides better near and computer vision, so that if I do need to wear glasses, it would be for distant vision? and the near and computer vision would be basically glasses free? If I get the monofocal, will I need glasses for either reading or computer use? If I get the Symfony will I need to get glasses for either reading or computer use? There is one additional element, but is not primary, Insurance covers the monofocal lens but not the Symfony.
Avatar f tn Lol no not spamming you. I was in shock. I have Ucare. It's a minnesota insurance with great rates and apparently benefits we didn't even know about. I am so excited because it's going to save us about $500.
Avatar f tn If she irrigated the eye thoroughly, and now there is no redness, pain, or vision change in the involved eye, I do not think she needs to see a specialist.
Avatar n tn I sugegst you to use acular eye drops to get rid of dry eyes & it helps to improve eye vision.
Avatar m tn Only a real life examination of the RE by an Eye MD ophthalmologist can answer that question. You should be under the care of an Eye MD ophthalmologist. You should direct question to him/her. Likely if you could be helped you would have been referred for treatment long ago.
