Avatar f tn I posted a question a while back about my MRI showing hyperintenstites but the second with contrast said it was nothing. I had the MRI done due to blurred vision, aching limbs, fatigue and numbness and tingling in my right side. I have a copy of my results and wonder if anyone can tell me if it's cause to see a neurologist. The PA I see says no and to wait 6 months and do a repeat. Here they are.
Avatar n tn Hi, My girl friend has been unable to read for about 2 months now. It started with pain in the back of her head, where the spine meets the skull. Any time she try's to read anything or sees something with fast motion, she gets sever pain there to the point she almost in tears. About 3 weeks ago, she had what I would observe as a seizure. She was in the kitch and colapsed, by the time I ran in there, she was sitting up, but disoriented and then appeared to have a seizure.

Avatar m tn After finding a different doctor I found meds to control the migrains an Tremors. Well in hard economy I have recently had to apply for state insurance to try and cover the cost of medication and a doctor since i had to move home to PA. The state is requiring me to have a doctor fill out forms stating my condition an how it affects my ability to work and function but can't seem to find a doctor who specializes in chiari that will accept the insurance for the visit.
Avatar m tn She is only 16 and her quality of life could be so much better. If you know of a neuro in Pa, (because of insurance) who will at least look at her, we would be forever grateful. NO UPMC DOCS PLEASE.

8713268 tn?1399464525 A negative Intrinsic Factor antibody result does not exclude the diagnosis of PA as only 60% of patients with PA will have this antibody.
Avatar f tn balance issues, difficulty reading as eyes jump around and cause dizziness, worsening of vision problems in right eye, waking with both arms asleep, extreme fatigue, dropping things. I see my regular doctor tuesday the 5th and I also made appointment the same day with my neurologist as I think he should be aware of what has been going on with me.
Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
1687929 tn?1319426011 I am wonder about insurance. I have none and I know that chiari involves a lot of doctors and surgeries. I don't know where I could go.
Avatar f tn Also, how do you usually find good naturopath, functional medicine doctors...those usually don't advertise about their practices ?
Avatar n tn d like to minimize your dependence on glasses, consider having your lenses set for blended vision (distance vision in dominant eye, intermediate vision in nondominant eye). With this correction, you might only need glasses for prolonged reading or seeing small print.
507504 tn?1291967104 anyhow when i was 19 i saw an eye doctor they gave me glasses to make things bigger when reading and also when on computer. use the comp sense 15 years of age until 27 years of age. I got pregnant in 2007 had my child in 2008 ..while pregnant i would see these black dots float around. they have gotten worst It usually starts with one dot or siggy line and it actually makes me think a bug is crawling on the floor and then all the sudden there are so many floding my eyes.
Avatar f tn I had cataract surgery on left eye on 5/27/08. Good result. I could see distance clearly from both eyes. Didn't even need to use reading glasses. My right eye had a cataract as well but Dr. said I could wait since I had good vision. I decided to go ahead with right eye on 8/19/08 because vision was still "yellowish" if I closed left eye. Big mistake.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation that was about 13mm in 2007 which they discovered in an MRI. I also have Fibromayliga. My vision problem first started off when my vision slowly became blurry with blind spots. Now I see strange colors in my vision 24/7 with my eyes opened or closed. I also have a very strange feeling in my head 24/7 like I not even here. I also keep getting my speech messed up when I talk.
Avatar f tn I currently have insurance through the state (I'm in PA). Do I need to call and tell them I'm pregnant? My first doctor appt is Monday but they said that's only with a nurse. I won't see the actual doctor til 12 weeks. They had already given me papers to verify I'm pregnant.
233488 tn?1310693103 Don't take your doctor's word that your insurance won't cover the multifocal lens. My insurance paid for it after I explained all the facts to them. The doctors office had only submitted it after I hounded them about it. When they did it went as a non-medically necessary facility charge. When I explained to insurance it was not that. When a cataract is removed a lens is necessary. This marked the cost from $2,000 down to $120. that insurance covered.
Avatar f tn i live in pennsylvania and im getting my insurance through pa medical assistance but it hasnt kicked in yet. if i call and make an appointment to see a doctor will the insurance still cover it??
Avatar f tn Hello, Earlier this week I went to fill one of my prescriptions and was told by the pharmacy that my health insurance would not allow the refill as I had hit my 90 day dosage limit. I've been going through a lot of abdominal issues since July and have been given different medications to try over the course of the past 4 months. During this time I was given an Rx for Prilosec in both July and August, which reacted badly with my body so I stopped taking it.
Avatar n tn May need strabismus surgery and have been searching for a top notch doctor in the field of adult strabismus surgery I live in the Richmond Va area, but willing to travel to find the very best in that field. Found a doctor in N.Y., but he does not take insurance, so that doesn't work as I am on a fixed income and don't have the money to do surgery exclusive of insurance.
Avatar f tn I plan cataract surgery for my non-dominant left eye in three weeks. I've worn progressive eyeglasses for ~18 years, bifocals or singles since 1950 or so. MR data on the left: -6.50 sph; +1.50 cyl. Further testing indicates the astigmatism is closer to +2. The cataract is small but nicely centered on the left lens and is both anterior and posterior. I also have guttata, 2-3+ and PVD, not a happy combination.
Avatar f tn ve lost two-thirds of my usable vision (no reading or computer vision). Difficult to find over-the-counter reading glasses because I need such a strong prescription for reading. I can use the computer with 2.5 OTC reading glasses. For reading a book with regular-sized print, I need 3.5 OTC reading glasses. When I look up at the TV or out the window with the 3.5 reading glasses on, I get dizzy. The doctor never asked me what kind of vision I wanted after the surgery.
Avatar m tn Thank you very much for the reply, I will get the refraction information and reply. What I know from my recent vision test is that I am seeing 20/20 out of my RE with the monofocal IOL. I currently wear a contact lens in the LE for distance vision, the prescription is -4.50. With the LE contact lens in I wear reading glasses of 1.75 for computer use & reading. At night with my LE contact lens removed I read comfortably with my LE only.
