Avatar n tn It is very rewarding, but I am having a great deal of trouble getting insurance. I wanted to get an individual policy, high deductible, with the physicians we use in the network. The problem is that I have a benign arrthymia known as PACs (premature atrial contractions). I have been assured by my internist and cariologist that there is no problem, and no treatment is required.
763297 tn?1281379425 The man from the insurance company said that there is no individual plan that would cover fertily. It can get very expensive.
Avatar f tn I am awaiting official test results from my doctor. I currently have an individual health insurance plan. I was wondering if my insurance company can drop me? Thanks in advance for any info regarding insurance and herpes.

Avatar f tn Hep C is pre-existing condition for any individual policy, however on group insurance it is not. So if you get insurance through a comapny even after being diagnosed you should be okay.
Avatar f tn I am not sure at this point. On the individual explanation of benefits sheets, of which they included approximately 30, the ones dated in Feb. & March of 08 showed a discount that has been posted and then they show a total which is listed under patient responsibility.(it appears to be 50/50.) I have had 6 rounds of Rituxin, attempting to obliterate the Cryo. My last Cryo test showed that it was gone? Each session cost $19,631!!!!!
Avatar m tn Hello. I am a physician in a singapore hospital and yesterday i received a man that i will treat for a state mental impairment. Without health insurance this patient will die. Unfortunaltly he doesn't have a medical insurance. Do you have some advices to give about which health insurance will be the best for him?
Avatar f tn It depends. I had Medicaid while I lived in Georgia and they said they would cover appointments up to 30 days prior to actually getting approved for Medicaid. But we moved to Maryland and it's not like that at all. I had to wait for everything to go through and a lot of places wouldn't even see me until I had picked an individual insurance through the state.
Avatar m tn Starting October 1, 2013 all states are scheduled to open an online Health Insurance Marketplace where you will be able to compare individual health insurance plans side by side. Depending on what state you live in, information on plans and premium rates may already to be available to you. Four plan types will be offered through the state exchanges (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze).
620877 tn?1282764097 I should clarify that I was talking about individual disability income insurance. It is a private policy (that I would pay for out of my own pocket) that protects your income if you become disabled long term. Social security disability is the same thing, but that is a part of the goverment plan that we can access (hopefully) if we are disabled. There is also group disability policies that are offered by employers as a part of your benefits - medical, dental, etc.
Avatar f tn Since medical underwriting is allowed in ND, someone who is undergoing treatment for a pre-existing condition or a potentially related condition, is likely be declined for traditional private individual insurance. However the formal declination letter is what you need to apply for a plan through Comprehensive Health Association of North Dakota (CHAND). CHAND provides coverage to individuals who were declined individual coverage due to pre-existing health issues.
Avatar n tn The answer to that question depends on different factors. A lot depends on if you are applying for group insurance for an employer or for individual insurance. I believe qualifying for group insurance, depeding on the company you work for, does not usually require you to have to disclose pre-existing conditions, whereas individual insurance will. I could be wrong about that.
1284791 tn?1271994267 As far as I know, IVF is offered only thorugh group insurance coverage. We delayed seeking fertility treatment in order to get our insurance worked out first. My husband and I formed our own husband/wife group (he owns his own business, I went to work for him, he pays employee taxes on me). Our accountant helpd us with the paperwork. After we set all of this up we applied for group coverage. We did this in order to get maternity coverage, which is otherwise unavailble in Texas.
Avatar f tn t offer any. The insurance ***** and takes so much damn money from us. Were wanting to look into other insurance plans. Anyone else just pay outright for insurance? If so give me some tips for what we should look at! Im worried that with it being so bad when the baby is finally here they will not cover much of anything and im not just meaning labor delivery cost. Im thinking meds and check ups. Everything really.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
Avatar f tn Workers whose employers don’t offer coverage are forced to seek individual health insurance, often in vain. For one thing, insurance companies offering “nongroup” coverage generally refuse to cover anyone with a pre-existing medical condition. And individual insurance is very expensive, because insurers spend large sums weeding out “high-risk” applicants — that is, anyone who seems likely to actually need the insurance. So what should be done?
Avatar f tn I started having vision problems in November of 2012. I had just a vision screening and new prescription made in October of that year. I really should not have been having blurred vision and dark spots. But I procrastinated. In February of this year (2013) I finally went to the eye doctor. His first though was either glaucoma or a detaching retina, despite the fact that his exam didn't show either. SO he sent me off to a retinal specialist.
Avatar n tn He's never had an outbreak and only got tested because a partner had an outbreak so I guess it's just worrying about viral shedding. I'm surprised at how little condoms prevent transmission! Hardly seems worth it to me. We are looking into supressive therapy. He doesn't have health insurance so cost is also an issue.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn To most traditional health insurance carriers being tested, treated, examined, consulted with, received advice on or had symptoms of a condition could be construed as Pre-existing Condition. To find out more about private or individual health insurance contact a licensed agent in your area.
Avatar f tn m no expert on health insurance, but one question is whether you are paying for the insurance as an individual or if you have it through where you work, or perhaps a working partner/spouse. It sounds like you are paying for insurance as an individual. If that is the case, then I'm guessing your chances of getting insurance from another company while having hep C is probably close to zero.
1031264 tn?1318524241 I actually looked into getting individual insurance with infertility coverage, but only group plans (very few at that) offer such coverage, no individual plans ever do. What I mean is that if you want to buy a policy on your own (not through your work), infertility won't be covered.
1323173 tn?1277137703 Hi Vic, I have MS also! I was dx'd with rrms in 1997 at the age of 27. Since then, I have had several relapses which have varied from optic neuritis to paresthesia to muscle weakness. In my many MRI'S, I have had mostly lesions on my spine, however I have had two lesions on my brain as of the last several MRI's. The problem is that even though my neurologist says that it is rrms, I believe that it's prms.
