9884089 tn?1406756206 If you have private insurance you have to put baby in the policy but baby is covered under you for the first 30 days (unless you are on your parents insurance). I'd start the process of enrolling as soon as baby is born though because some companies can take weeks to get everything finalized.
Avatar f tn Hey I live in NC too when I went to DSS I was told that if you bring proof of your pregnancy and due date that women with child are always excepted. The only part that ***** is they have a full 45 business day to get back to you it take for ever I still have not got my letter yet. I also applied for food stamps I was awarded in February and didn't get my card until May. Even though it may take time i would give it a try.
Avatar f tn I live in NC and work at a hospital our maternity leave allows us 6 weeks paid time off however insurance doesnt start paying you until after the first week and I only receive 60% of my regular wages during my leave. You can technically take up to 12 weeks if you wish however the weeks after the first 6 will be unpaid. You can supplement your pay with paid time off hours if you have enough available.
Avatar f tn Usually doctors allied to hospitals have to take Medicaid private doctors can choose. In our area the University of NC is a State hospital so they take medicaid. It is very unfair.
Avatar f tn I had just finished a 5 day course of intravenous steroids followed by a 12 day course of oral prednisone and was starting to see improvements in my bilateral blurry vision when I had a second flare-up and I lost nearly all my sight in both eyes. I am wondering if anyone has some emotional as well as visual coping strategies they could suggest?
572651 tn?1530999357 I have more than a $8000 deductable with the State Workers Plan which is the largest insurance pool in NC. I will easily fork out $10,000 in out of pocket for 2010 and my MS is not that bad. I forked out over $3000 for gallbladder surgery and expect another $1000 for MRIs and my biannual visit to the Neurologist which will take 15 minutes. The NCHRP is a great plan for a friend of mine who pays $1000 a month premium and has a $20,000 a year deductible to even see a doctor.
Avatar n tn I unfortunatley am in the situation of not having health insurance and living in the asheville nc area there isnt alot in the way of "free" healthcare much less anything to begin with. any help figuring this eye problem out would be GREATLY appreciated. for medical history i am a 22 year old male non diabetic (as far as i know) who had perfect vision my whole life.
Avatar f tn Usually across the board, prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care is part of a global fee. When I lived in NC, the money had to be paid by the 7th month. When I moved to Wisconsin, I found out that you can pay on the balance after it's all done and over with. Also, doctors won't refuse to see you. Anyway, I'd apply for Medicaid. They do backdated coverage 3 months unless, like in NC, your clinic refuses to retrofile.
Avatar f tn No NC Insurance Covers It Anymore! ***** But They Don't..
Avatar n tn The doc has mentioned sinus node ablation and/or pacemaker several times and I am afraid that is what they are going to want to do at Duke or UNC and I have read that ablations and pacemakers can make POTS patients worse. My insurance is called medcost and only covers doctors in NC or SC, it is a preferred provider network, so if I were to go to Vanderbilt or Mayo Clinic (FLA), I would likely have to pay out of pocket.
7708430 tn?1394287500 It cost me 200 in NC. And the hospital I went to used doctors in training to do everything on medicaid patients. They messed up my sons penis. Ill never get another boy circumcised.
Avatar n tn Im 7 weeks pregnant and my health insurance doesn't kick in until 3 months from now!! Is that too late to go in for a doctors visit?...and I dont think I will be approved for public assistance. Please help!
Avatar f tn t sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
1461311 tn?1285844866 I had my first mamogram, 4 years ago, at the age of 50. Due to "no insurance" I just recently had my second mamogram at the age of 54. I've been called back for another mamogram, due to density in my right breast. I do not have any implants, and have large breasts, and wear 38D bra. The right breast has always seemed larger than the left. I've not had any symptoms that would alarm me, making me think that there could be something wrong.
1088806 tn?1256785042 m crazy when I talk about the headaches, numbness in my left arm tingling pain, blurred vision,ect..If anybody knows a good doctor please let me know....I'm will to travel but really need doctor close...
Avatar f tn I have had headaches, neck pain, numbness, extreme sensitivity to sound, and unrelieved pressure/tension in my neck and lower skull since I was in high school. However, I recently developed some new symptoms, including eye pain, ear pain, numbness and tingling in my face, upper back, shoulders, and arms. I recently had a brain MRI and cervical MRI and discovered the chiari, and my neuro essentially said that it was no big deal and that I was probably born with it - and that's it.
Avatar f tn t be able to press the pedals as hard if I was in an accident but I think it depends on your car insurance company here (in Australia).
Avatar f tn I chucked it up to my anxiety as I had a bad bout of it at that time. Now I feel as though the vision in that eye is not as good, almost like I lost some peripheral vision. Does this sound serious or just a coincidence? Is my anxiety perhaps triggering the visual disturbance as well? My insurance for eye care kicks in on the 1st of the Year so I will be getting an eye exam. Any insight (no pun here ) would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if Medicaid covers a free pump in NC? I exclusively breast fead my now three year inks until 22 months and plan to do the same with this one except I will be going back to work.

921053 tn?1245180795 Hi, I just had a great experience at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem NC. I have only had one appointment, but they were great. I am to be scheduled for a work-up. And just FYI - Sm and Chiari are rare diseases. My insurance company told me they will consider any doctor as in -network weather they are or not. The Doctor does not have to accept assignment, but the insurance company told me they will pay as if they are.
972476 tn?1249142683 Most insurance companies won't cover fertility meds. My primary only covers things that need to be done (u/s to make sure I don't have cancer, pap smears, etc) but it won't cover anything that has to do with getting pregnant. So my doctor has run a lot of my tests and filed it as basic women tests (i.e. a saline u/s to make sure I don't have cancer, etc). Luckily my husbands insurance covers up to $10,000 in infertility tests, meds, etc. His is with BCBS of NC.
Avatar m tn Looks like you live in NC.
