Avatar n tn Hi, I'm actually posting for my mom. She's 49 years old and her vision has deteriorated severely in the last 8 years. In Turkey she had an eye exam after getting fed up with her optometrist here and she was told that she immediately needed to get a multifocal lens replacement surgery and that she had mild cataract formation. She is almost at the legal limits of being blind without her glasses, but even her prescription glasses wont do the trick.
Avatar f tn 21.50) IOL. I can see distance and intermediate vision with no problems, and my near vision is improving on a daily basis. I am a 52 year old white male diagnosed in January 2009 with a Posterior subcapsular cataract in my right eye. My left eye has no cataract and my vision is 20/15. In December 2003 I had Lasik surgery performed on both eyes, correcting my vision to 20/15 bilaterally.
Avatar f tn Cataract surgery 30 days ago and made sure I had one of the best eye docs here in Houston. I want whatever he placed in that eye OUT NOW! I would rather have dim vision then all the residuals that go with having a cataract removed even though I can see better. The tearing, the light sensitivty, the feeling that something is in your eye, the white glob like floater that appears out of no where and the eye in general that looks distorted....is not acceptable.
Avatar m tn Im 15 years old everthing started when i was in the 6 grade some boy was telling me to do double vision to make one object into two so i dont know why i started doing for like 1year.
1532707 tn?1312155924 My work was having open enrollment for insurance and i was eligible. I wanted to sign up for their dental plan since i need it and can afford it again. I assumed it was being taken care of since i filled out the form and turned it in the same day. I have been patiently awaiting the cards in the mail but nothing!.... I ask my boss today what happened and she says she turned the paper work in1 day late and missed the deadline. Now i have to wait a whole 'nother year to get insurance?
Avatar f tn I need a doctor in Houston Tx, that will prescribe Methadone for long-term pain control. Does anyone know a pain doctor that writes for that?

Avatar f tn My 9 year old son starting having vision problems almost 2 years ago. At first we brought him to a regular eye doctor. She felt like there was a black spot on his eye so she sent us to a pediatric opthomologist. He dismissed her findings and gave a new prescription for eye glasses. My son was having difficulty with the glasses and couldn't be seen by this opthomologist for another 2 months so I sought the opinion of another doctor. He felt there was a problem with my son's retina.
Avatar f tn The new ReStor is better. However, you can not predict who will not neuroadapt. My choice would be a Crystalens AO ( I have one in my eye). The quality of vision is good and if you have some macular problems (like me) you would not be a good candidate for a multifocal IOL. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn My husband has fundus albipunctatus and lost vision in one eye. His vision is getting worse at 60 years of age. I read about gene studies at cleveland clinic in the Houston Chronicle. Is there any help for the vision loss or a Doctor working on this problem in the U.S.

Avatar m tn I have still yet to be diagnosed, have been to Houston, Miami, Minnesota, and live in Louisiana where I have also been seen by doctors. On my lasts venture to Minnesota, I was told I have a Macula Dysfunction, not degeneration. I am 63, have had 20 20 vision my entire life, and within the last year started losing my vision and now am legally blind. I have many symptoms, flashing lights is just one, but it is the center vision that is gone. My eyes and retina are completely healthy.
Avatar f tn Also, how much should an MRI and flow study cost? We have decent insurance, but were shocked at how much it was. Before insurance it was $18,000. This seemed really high, but since she is an infant she has to be put under anesthesia so we weren't sure.
Avatar f tn I have not had any testing since that time and am concerned that my disease may be progressing without my knowlege. I do not have any insurance at this time, and our familey earns too much to qualify for any govt medical help. Are there any testing/tx programs available for people in my situation at a reduced cost?
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing double vision for a couple of weeks. Have seen the opthamologist who referred me to a neurologist. My left eye is not tracking with my right eye. Am told that the 3rd and 4th muscle/nerve are having problems.. Seeing double when I look up and when I look to the right. Have had MRI/MRA multiple blood tests, facial nerve shock test and am about to have a spinal tap... A couple of months ago I got a new glasses perscription... could a change in perscription be the cause?
Avatar f tn I have severe vascularization from contact lens wear. My vision is approx -12.75 and -14.00. I was told today the vessels are now causing scaring to my cornea. As you can imagine I am trying to avoid glasses. I am extremely concerned. I am only 35 and don't want to go blind. What do u reccomend?
Avatar f tn I see that you live in Houston. Houston has many highly rated doctors. If you will go to Castle Connelly.com, you will find those retinologists. I hope you feel better. My mood does not stray much from distressed. I will go to Houston, or another city soon, to make sure my treatment is the best I can get. I am in a sort of backward city. I usually say unsophisticated, but my patience is running out. You might also ask you doctor about cerclage, to protect your good eye.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist in houston, tx area ( as they seem to understand chronic intractable pain and have compassion for patients who suffer from pain ) who manages intractable chronic pain with methadone? I was previously under the care of a psychiatrist/neuro/oncologist for 8 years before going to my psychiatrist who passed away.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
