1282384 tn?1271431332 m wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
13724114 tn?1440985203 If you don't qualify for any government assisted health insurance, it's unlikely medicaid will cover your baby. Health insurance is outrageously expensive for people with a little money. If you are in poverty, it's free, but if you make a living wage it about breaks the bank. Have you talked to your HR department? You say your job won't cover her, but it sounds like you can get insurance from work for her, but it's 300-400 per month?
233488 tn?1310693103 If both of your eyes need implants, you will probably want both set at the same focal point for stereo vision for your photography, probably at plano. Implanting Crystalens is trickier than the other IOL's, so you need a Dr. that has had a lot of success implanting it.

352007 tn?1372857881 I am sure as the sun rises in the east and settles in the west that at least one of you have dealt with your insurance companies giving an authorization for a MRI with and without contrast. Im in a rush for time because it is now Monday and still no authorization from insurance company for my Thursday appt. of MRI. I have an appointment on Feb 13th for brain MRI with and without contrast. The secretary just called me to tell me that my insurance feels I do not need the contrast.
Avatar f tn im a stay at home mom and often home alone with my 2 kids (2yrs and 3mo). im scared that it may cause a bigger health issue. i dont have insurance right now and cant afford more dr visits that lead nowhere.
Avatar f tn My retina specialist recently submitted my medical records and I am pleased to report that my insurance has reviewed my records and will be paying most of the cost for the treatment. Thanks for your response and I encourage others to have their physicians appeal the payment for this treatment.
Avatar f tn Many studies have shown that vision therapy doesn't work for myopia reduction. It would be a total waste of your money and your child's time.
1210493 tn?1527851309 t actually had a full physical since I was in the military which was when I was 19 or 12 years ago. I had a screening while pregnant for HIV and anything else they test you for, for life insurance and everything was fine at that time. I am freaking out much less since Friday...had a little time to read and digest the information, which is good. Friday I was feeling a little overwhelmed.
Avatar n tn Prices range from around $340(for hospital only plan)-$1995(for a more comprehensive HMO) per month for a couple. Couple of ways you can get better rates; 1) If one of you is Sole Proprietor business owner, 2) If you apply & enroll separately. I recommend you to consult a licensed agent that represents companies like GHI or Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. You can either find a local licensed agent or find a “licensed” online agency (like the one I work for; www.eHealthInsurance.com ).
1260255 tn?1288654564 I believe that this is what prompted my opthalmologist to focus on other causes for my vision problems and discuss them with me during my last visit. My question has to do with laser treatment as a preventative measure. Would you recommend that this be done or wait to see if an acute attack presents itself? My instinct is to pursue prevention rather than wait for an attack that could leave me blind if I am not able to get prompt medical care.
4983320 tn?1378402268 Even if you don't qualify for medicaid your baby probably will! I don't qualify for it but my kids do or like she said you can apply for chips.
Avatar f tn Monofocal IOLs can be set for "blended vision," leaving one eye a little nearsighted. With this type of correction, you would not need glasses for distance or intermediate vision tasks (e.g., computer). You'd probably only need readers for seeing small print. Seeing the dashboard gauges wouldn't be a problem at all. Of the three "premium" lenses, my first choice would definitely be the Crystalens HD.

Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn Well, you've come to the right place if you don't want a sales pitch for a "premium" lens. Dr. Hagan has stated several times on this forum that he would not want a multifocal/accommodating IOL in his own eye--and he has inside information about how these lenses actually perform.
Avatar m tn While waiting to see the doctor, I have been testing my son's vision this week, and started covering his "good eye" 2 hours at home. However, his "lazy eye" can see very well at close (reading books) as well as in a distance. Is it possible a mistake? The number from optometrist was +75 and +200. Thanks again!
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome. Insurance should pay for a diagnosis of CIS - clinically isolated syndrome - to be treated with drugs. It is recognized by the FDA as the right course to take. Your neurologist can easily make that argument. I hope if this is MS you get a dx soon and start therapy. Good luck with this next round of tests.
Avatar n tn To make matters worse I lost my health insurance two months ago and have no prospects available for new. The diagnoses I have are now considered pre-existing conditions anyway. So I guess all of this has led to two questions: 1) Can symptoms of Chiari be mistaken for migraines and can Chiari symptoms ebb and flow with increasing frequency, but not be consistent?
Avatar n tn My question is if there is any treatment for optical nerve damage. I have more questions relating to the same issue for now I want to find out about the possible treatment. Stemcell inplant or anything at all. Please help. He is 45 years old with 3 kids and a wife. He is a driver by profession and can not do anything else.
4097344 tn?1349754756 i got a ct scan with contrast for my head last week but i havent heard back from them with the results so im guessing they didnt find anything. i went to the hospital for double vision and pain in my neck and the doctor said, 'this isnt an emergency im going to discharge you" just turned me away. i feel so powerless to do anything. no money. no job. i just feel stupid right now. cant even go to sleep thinking about if im going to just drop dead.
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
521840 tn?1348840771 Unfortunately, many psychologists can no longer afford to participate with insurance companies or Medicaid/Medicare. The reasons for this include low reimbursement rates, frequency of denied payment for services, and the burden of insurance related paperwork. While the situation is problematic, there is no reason to assume that you can not get the care you need. On the bright side, if you can take the time and energy to search, you have a good chance of finding someone who can help.
Avatar n tn yeah i dont recommend getting on state insuracnce it sick here in illinois as well i work at a clinic and they get a hard time i say put the baby under the fathers insurance less hassle and you won't have to beg for the state to assist you and you won't have to look at a caseworker face to get redetermined. but to each it's on. goodluck .
10169340 tn?1415846161 t heard of anyone being turned down for surgery who pay for optional insurance. That said, one lady I know was paying for the highest insurance coverage but when she needed immediate open heart surgery she was sent to the public hospital.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been seeing a few doctors lately for the symptoms I have been having. They have done MRI's and they suspect MS. I have been having twitching in my fingers, tingling in my hands and feet, and constant nausea. I also have blurry vision which seems to be worsening. My only drawback is that I have no insurance. If I do have what they say I have...MS...will I be okay not receiving treatment? I would just like a professional opinion.
