Avatar n tn In a three year old it is still possible to determine if she needs glasses, and to be sure the eye does not have disease. Exotrophia (or wall eyes) usually has good vision and does not cause reduced vision (amblyopia) which is more common in crossed eyes.
Avatar f tn I tested positive to HCV antibodies but further testing with PCR RNA Quantative testing was negative. I live in Canada and wonder if it will be a problem down the road with travel insurance or joining an extended health plan. Anyone have any experiences with this, Canadian or American? Thank you.

Avatar f tn so I just found out today that my insurance was canceled and had to pay out of pocket for my doctors appointment. My insurance company said that they had sent me papers in the mail and I never got them I've lived at the same address over 6 years. I love in a apartment complex btw. I wrote a email and now they said I make too much money in my household. I live with my boyfriend who is jobless and I had to take leave from work because I'm a high risk pregnancy.
293157 tn?1285873439 I just received my last weeks blood test and the Sed Rate is down to 32? Is this normal for the sed rate to change so drastically...from 74 to 32? Avatar f tn I live in Michigan and you have to have insurance to be seen because the insurance company's will not back pay :/ so to be seen you have to pay up front or wait. I had to deal with this.
Avatar f tn s a given as we all have health insurance as per the Canada Health Act. Supplemental insurance for most prescription meds, eye care, dental care is another matter and covered by supplemental health plans. I have that too. Other interesting questions would include how much do each of us pay for premiums, how much are our co-pays. I'm curious about how much $$$ is spent in total one year on my health care including physician visits, radiology, ER visits, etc.
Avatar n tn We have Cigna for insurance and it is covering about 80% of the IVF costs.
Avatar f tn I've always wanted to live in Canada :( It's now "illegal" in the U.S. to not have health insurance so if you can't afford insurance they fine you or something, IDK.
1950158 tn?1324493957 my question is did anyones insurance require a spinal tap? Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.

Avatar f tn Can you tell me what is going on to expand the indications and approval of the anti-VEGF drugs so that there is full Medicare and insurance coverage. Lucentis and Macugen are only FDA-approved for wet AMD, yet these drugs are useful in many other retinal inflammatory conditions, often the only treatment available for these problems, yet insurance won't pay.

Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
175734 tn?1225134440 yes, drugs r everywhere now. living in canada, would be a pill poppers dream. we pay for nothing, no doctor's no surgeries and the price for pills r cheap. it's the same price for pills whether the rx is for 10 or 100. as long as u educate your children at a young age about drugs, then they will know better and say no, hopefully they r smarter than us.
Avatar f tn That is true geekmom. It's really just a personal family decision and parental preference. There is evidence to support both sides of the argument so it is kind of a wash with neither one being better than the other. I am not sure about 'most insurance not covering it though'.
Avatar f tn This could be a serious internal problem in the eye. It is the type of symptom that needs to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one at www.aao.
