Avatar m tn First off I just want to say I don't know where I to post this but this is the close one I can find to mine or maybe not the same at all sorry! Hey my name is Louis I'm 19. I've had some type of viral illness for about 23 days now I think. I don't know what kind it is but I'll walk you threw everything.
Avatar m tn I hooked up with a lady and after some time we had sex.We used a condom and my worry is on removal of the condom, it touched an unbleeding wound on my finger and have the feeling that the vaginal fluids on the condom may have entered the wound. Also i have this fear that as i was washing my penis, some fluid from the hand that removed the condom may also have entered the wound as i used one hand to wash the other.I would like some advice on whether this is a possible risk and do i need testing?
Avatar f tn The extent and course of your infection is certainly not the norm. You have more widespread infection as well as possibly more aggressive infection that the vast majority of persons who acquire HPV which, as Dr. Handsfield has indicated, is just about everyone. Infection with the same HPV type can manifest itself in a variety of ways in different persons. This is likely due to both variation in the virus as well as person to person variation in how the virus manifests itself.
Avatar n tn Hi Common warts are local growths in the skin caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection. They are generally diagnosed clinically, on the basis of location and appearance. You should discuss with your doctor about other treatment options such as removal by freezing (cryotherapy), burning (electrocautery), laser treatment, podofilox solution / gel, or imiquimid cream, immunotherapy or some vaccine treatment. Several treatment sessions are usually required.
Avatar m tn In other words, what is the risk that any residual vaginal fluids outside of the protected portion of a condom would cause an infection if rubbed vigorously onto the penis or opening of penis with the hand? Please advise. Thank you.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are sore throat, sever neck pain and cough.
Avatar m tn Hep B virus integrates with liver cells. Finding virus in blood is just a byproduct. Please see the following link (SteveNYer's response): http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Hepatitis-B/Virus-cleanup/show/999818?
1882215 tn?1322789327 HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection, affecting as many as 75 percent of American women and men of reproductive age. More than a hundred types or strains of the virus exist, and they can cause very different symptoms. Many of the HPV strains cause warts in the vaginal area and cervix (the opening to the uterus). Often these warts are too small to see, and they're generally harmless.
Avatar f tn For 2 1/2 years, I've been having outbreaks consisting of a patch of itchy, painful, red, swollen area on my inner arm. Pain radiates along the ulnar nerve, and I have prodromal symptoms for a few days consisting of headache, fever, nausea and malaise. I have seen a doctor for each outbreak; the diagnosis (without testing) was shingles the first three times, which was treated with antiviral medication. Now I've had a fourth outbreak, and the doctor sampled the fluid for lab work.
Avatar m tn any virus on the small amount of fluid would deactivate on exposure to the environment, making infection impossible. infection does not happen this way my friend. i can tell you from personal experience!
Avatar n tn You probably know that warts are a virus and can be spread to others. I would do another treatment tomorrow and keep a bandaid over it. It will go away by itself.
Avatar m tn However, please make sure that while working out, the clothing does not rub against the lesions. This may cause infection or cause more spread by way of Koebner's Phenomenon Molluscm can affect any area of the skin but is most common on the body, arms, and legs. It is spread through direct contact or shared items such as clothing or towels. In adults, molluscum infections are often sexually transmitted and usually affect the genitals, lower abdomen, buttocks, and inner thighs.
Avatar n tn Hi, I need some advise regarding my teeth. I had a root canal done on my tooth 19th maybe about 3 years ago. 2 years ago my gum swelled because of pus & infection therefore the dentist did another root canal to remove the infection. I found out last sep. that there's some infection underneath that same tooth again, but because of some complication with insurance i didn't do anything about it till now. This time there's no swelling or pain or any sort of discomfort.

Avatar n tn Hi, Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can recur.
Avatar f tn some one said it sounded like some type of airborne virus. docyors gave hm a ten day supply of antibotics. any body heard of any thing like this before?
Avatar m tn Definitely time to see your vet. Actually, your Dad was correct in his first aid measures. My vet recommends the same thing for the first 24 hours of gut issues. Beyond 24 hours, you need to consult your vet. I'm not certain about the "slimy" urine, but my best guess is that he's got a urinary tract infection that will need antibiotics. A UTI often causes incontintence as well.
Avatar n tn I had sex with a girl about 3 years ago next month, i heard that about 6-9 months later that she had gotten her cervix flushed due to an HPV infection. I am unsure of whether me having sex w/ her puts me in the time frame to be at risk of being infected as well. but in the case that i am, should i be worried about still being infected with the virus now? and if i did contract it through intercourse, can it be transmitted through oral sex as well?
Avatar f tn Hello, What you seem to be having is keloid and not wart.Warts are caused by infection due to HPV virus. No treatment for keloids is considered to be 100% effective. Some of the treatment options are application of creams like Mederma or contractubex gel, silicone gel dressings, surgery, steroid injections, compression bandage, cryosurgery, laser therapy and alpha-interferon, 5-fluorouracil and bleomycin. Pls discuss these treatment option with a dermatologist. I hope it helps.
