Avatar m tn Also, how do they decide if you should be on viread tablets or on the injection (peginterferon)? If your on viread do you have to take it for life? And if you take the peginterferon injection then after one year if hbv dna is undetected can you stop taking all medication? Finally, is the coast of viread tabs close to a 1000dollars a month? Thats damn expensive.

Avatar m tn Stefano and others, thanks for your help. As I posted before, 2 of my relatives are currently undergoing Hepsera monotherapy. I went to a new doctor for a second opinion and the Hepsera-prescribing current doctor for an explanation of treatment choice. The first doctor agreed that Baraclude and Viread are to be dispensed per current AASLD guidelines but, once you've started with Hepsera, there is no need to change. He felt that the resisitance rate for Hepsera (vs.

Avatar m tn If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. Rxlist seems pretty well balanced, and I usually go there when curious about some medication I'm supposed to take.
Avatar n tn you should take viread+interferon like other members in the forum, chances to clear hbv once and for all are 24% at 48 weeks.
Avatar f tn Renal impairment, including cases of acute renal failure and Fanconi syndrome (renal tubular injury with severe hypophosphatemia), has been reported with the use of VIREAD [See ADVERSE REACTIONS]. It is recommended that creatinine clearance be calculated in all patients prior to initiating therapy and as clinically appropriate during therapy with VIREAD. Routine monitoring of calculated creatinine clearance and serum phosphorus should be performed in patients at risk for renal impairment.
Avatar m tn viread is more realiable than generic tenofovir right? do you know any online site/store where viread is sold and guaranted to be delivered to you?
Avatar m tn I also started on Viread in March 2011. Before taking Viread i had absolutely no symptoms. Upon resuming viread i started experiencing the same symptoms as you have. I checked out the viread site to see if these symptoms were normal and from what i read they seemed to be quite usual and covered in the broad range of possible symptoms experienced by patients while taking viread. However i would like to hear any contrary opinions if anyone has any.
Avatar m tn 1. Should I take VIREAD immediately as suggested by my primary care doctor? And why? 2. Will VIREAD change my life style, i.e. make me exercise less, no more hiking / skiing trip? 3. Am I correct that I will take VIREAD for life? 4. When will VIREAD develop resistance? Any known data / study on this? 5. What is the life expectancy can I expect? Thank you again for sharing your information. God Bless.
Avatar f tn On the other hand, it is generally considered safe for mothers on Viread to breakfeed - concentration of Viread in breast milk is minimal and experiences from HIV mothers on Viread indicated no significant side effects on baby. So it may be an option to delay switching until breastfeeding is over. Just my understanding.

Avatar m tn I am a healthy carrier of HBV and have been taking viread for more than 1 year. The latest blood test showed that HBV DNA was below the detection limit. I came to malaysia to work recently and after I came here, I tried to get viread and seems i could not find it anywhere. My doctor recommand that I can take Baraclude, but I am a little worried. I saw in the old post, that people take both, but for my case, by just pure change from one to another, will there be any side effect?

Avatar f tn There are no data to recommend use of VIREAD tablets 150, 200 or 250 mg or VIREAD oral powder in patients with renal impairment. No dose adjustment of VIREAD tablets 300 mg is necessary for patients with mild renal impairment (creatinine clearance 50–80 mL/min). Routine monitoring of calculated creatinine clearance and serum phosphorus should be performed in patients with mild renal impairment [See Warnings and Precautions (5.3)]. 5.
Avatar m tn Dear all, I'd like your opinion on my situation. I started taking viread in 10/2010 when I had for the first time higher than normal ALT (around 90), before that I always had very high HVB viral load (higher than 9 log). After three months of treatment, the viral load decreased to about 5 log. But ALT remained high at the same level. After one year and half treatment, now I have viral load of about 3log, with still high ALT level. Ultrasound is normal. Fibroscan is 3.9Kpa.
Avatar m tn I use Viread while pregnant. My new born child looks healthy. Research says Viread is category B drug.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to take VIREAD (its a antiretroviral tenofovir) and need to have follow up check up after 3 months. Last Dec 2014 I had also my next blood test. After 3 months of continuous taking that VIREAD, my DNA Viral load last Dec was 7082IU/ml then my hbsag quantification was 97,000, hbsag and hbeag were still reactive, but all of my whole abdomen are normal even my fibroscan result is still normal.
