viread

Avatar f tn My doctor told me to take VIREAD (its a antiretroviral tenofovir) and need to have follow up check up after 3 months. Last Dec 2014 I had also my next blood test. After 3 months of continuous taking that VIREAD, my DNA Viral load last Dec was 7082IU/ml then my hbsag quantification was 97,000, hbsag and hbeag were still reactive, but all of my whole abdomen are normal even my fibroscan result is still normal.
Avatar n tn dos your husband also taking the medicine called viread?
Avatar f tn On the other hand, it is generally considered safe for mothers on Viread to breakfeed - concentration of Viread in breast milk is minimal and experiences from HIV mothers on Viread indicated no significant side effects on baby. So it may be an option to delay switching until breastfeeding is over. Just my understanding.
Avatar f tn ve stopped taking Viread since I found out I am pregnant. I am so worry about that the medicine will impact my baby or I transmit the HBV virus to my baby. Thank you for your help.

Avatar f tn Thanks! I found another supplier with viread generic, manufactured in Thailand. The name on the box and bottle is Tenofovir GPO 300. It costs even cheaper than Cipla's. Are all generics the same? Meaning are they all approved with strict controls to ensure it is bioequivalent to Viread?
Avatar m tn I started taking Viread two weeks ago. In the last visit, my doctor gave me the MYACESS card (from Gilead, Viread maker). It is like a VISA card. I called the activation number, and with some simple answers, they authorized $50 per month for my Viread prescription co-pay. Information on this card indicated that they can pay up to $200 per month. Hope this info helps!
Avatar m tn 1- It will be a life-time medicine and 2 - My HBV may develop resistance to it. So I asked for another blood test to be sure and to test for GENOME TYPE since my doctors had never tested this. I am also thinking of getting a second opinion from another Hepamathologist before feeling sure to take VIREAD. My question: 1. Should I take VIREAD immediately as suggested by my primary care doctor? And why? 2. Will VIREAD change my life style, i.e.

Avatar m tn Stefano and others, thanks for your help. As I posted before, 2 of my relatives are currently undergoing Hepsera monotherapy. I went to a new doctor for a second opinion and the Hepsera-prescribing current doctor for an explanation of treatment choice. The first doctor agreed that Baraclude and Viread are to be dispensed per current AASLD guidelines but, once you've started with Hepsera, there is no need to change. He felt that the resisitance rate for Hepsera (vs.
Avatar m tn Hi All, Does any one observed efficacy differences between original and generic medicines for HepB? (for ex: between Viread/Vemilidy vs any other generic). The reason why I'm asking is due to that I have started my HepB treatment with Viread and it did magic in bringing down my HBVDNA to UND, also HBsAG quant is reduced to 4400 from 16000 and also specifically my liver histology improved a lot in ultra sound scans.
Avatar m tn Yeah, you have a high viral load thats why the doctor recommended treatment. Viread Tenofovir is a good medicine.
Avatar f tn My doctor let me have Viread. I checked online at pharmacy checker. Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablet and Viread Tablet, are they the same in treatment wise? I went to CVS store, it cost 1000 USD to 30/300mg for Viread Tablet. is it too expensive? The staff there told me generic tablet is not available. But why I see it online as I said earlier? What happens if I take brand and then switch to generic like a year later? Will the generic medicine do the same? Thank you.
Avatar m tn There is a rare side effect of lactic acidosis on Viread that you may call and ask your doctor about, or others like stef will have better advice hopefully. I'm almost done with my first month on Viread and no issues, but if I had what you did I'm thinking I would call the doctor just to be on the safe side. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn My doctor suggests that I participate in the drug trial of Tenefovir (Viread) versus Tenofovir in combination with Emtricitibine (Truvada). I have chronic Hepatitis B and Lamivudine resistance last year. He gave me a document to read and I did a bit of research on internet on the side effect. My concern is the side effect especially on Kidney. Could you give me some advice if I should participate in the drug trial or stay with my current medicine Hepsera.
Avatar m tn I’ve been taking Baraclude for seven months and, according to my doctor, will keep on taking this medicine indefinitely. The drugstore where I buy it every month, however, told me they have run out of it and are supposed to receive new boxes next week, but I only have pills until Thursday. If they don’t receive it, can I change it to Viread just for one month, and then back again to Baraclude?
