viread

Avatar f tn So I was on medication for Viread and lamivudine for about 9months until virus showed undetected, so me not being well informed I stop taking the medications, now it back with low load about 290, found this out around the same time I found out I am almost 2montha pregnant I want to continue taking medications will it still work? Or has the virus become immune to the medications because I stoped taking it for a while And my last question will the viruse ever clear up?
Avatar m tn Quang, this is really good news. Can you share anything else that you're relative may have done? Was it just Viread alone or was there any additional supplement or medication that they took? I think we'd all like to know and it's great to hear someone cleared it on this medication as well, despite it being 5 years. It gives many of us hope!
Avatar m tn While you are on Viread can you take Milk Thistle? I've been taking Viread a few hours before I sleep, sometimes I wake up during the middle of my sleep, is taking the medication before I sleep affecting my sleeping pattern?
Avatar m tn I would say Viread is likely the cause. I have the same issue with baraclude or viread. I don't think extra vit d will make it go away. I've been on 20,000 vit d a day and still feel tired.

Avatar m tn is there any possibility that a non European person could buy viread or taf from France, italy or any other country? because in my country Gilead doesn't allow us to use Viread for hbv (No AMM for HBV actually even 10 years after its release) also in my country interferon the first one not pegasys is still the first line then they will stop giving you medication, if relaps, Lamuvidine si the first choice... i have money to buy Viread even if its is 400 euro its not a big deal...
Avatar m tn A prophylactic treatment is to start HIV prevention drugs within 24 hours; such as Viread to stop the virus from entering the body and cure the issue. Now regarding herpes, if someone suspects herpes exposure, if I were to start on Valtrex within 24 hours, would this stop the virus from spreading or in other words kill it as so it cant spread any further. Same goes for taking Doxycycline stop all bacterials in there tracks prior to manifestation.
Avatar m tn Even though she doesn't take Videx EC? :( Only Viread and Kaletra? I was hoping so much that she didn't have HIV and the meds were from keeping her from getting it. Her brother said that the problem was her having too few white blood cells, and that she only would take pills untill she got better. So he was lying to us, wasn't he?
1191262 tn?1366763021 I am pregnant and on Viread treatment. Most websites say that it is not recommended to breastfeed as it is not well nown if the medication passes to the maternal milk...This idea stresses me. Do you have any thoughts or information regarding this aspect? Thanks in advance. P.S: My ObGyn who knows nothing I assume about liver deseases said it is probably safe as even though it passes through, it will just protect the baby more? The thing is, this medication is not prescribed for babies...?
1191262 tn?1366763021 It seems like there are 2 theories regarding HBV transmission risks either by having ceasarian-section or a natural delivery. I am pregnant and my HBV DNA is undetectable (on Viread treatment) but was wondering if I should go with a C-section or go for a natural delivery. In north America, it seems like they opt for natural delivery. Does it add risks to HBV transmission or is it fine?
Avatar m tn i actually forgot to mention that initially (before viread), he was on entecavir in the morning. but then later viread was added in the evening. i think once he is discharged, they will stick with just viread only. so far, this is my understanding. the doctors provided some level of reassurance, by saying that his liver enzymes did rise high, and peak (which is what they said they wanted), and is now on its way back down. would this be a reason to stop drug therapy?
Avatar f tn I took it first thing yesterday and started the itching mid-day. All night I itched and kept me up. Should I continue with Viread or stop and call doctor Monday? I have had several past medications (not related to hepatitis B) that I have had itching with, so don't know if I'm just susceptible to this reaction with medications, as I don't like taking medications to begin with. Will this get better on Viread or is it common side effect that will not go away? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I recently visited the dr after my hbsab seroconverted, my hbv dna undetected, hbsag non reactive and hbsab reactive for more than a year, and stopped the viread medication for 6 months, and blood test result stays the same, i was under clinical trial, now the dr sent me home, no more hbv follow up appointments.
Avatar m tn s 32 years old right now and just started taking Viread for the first time this year. My friend takes the pills everyday and he doctor says that his viral count is very low. However, my friend drinks a little wine every week, but still sometimes will go binge drinking with lots of liquor, until the point that is almost blackout drunk. My question is, despite having a low viral count and taking Viread- is he still at risk of worsening his condition? I'm so worried. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I've been on Viread a few months with good results so far. Before meds and at 2 month mark my kidney level was unchanged (gfr and creatine good). I know Viread has that risk long term of kidney damage, which worries me since most will need it longterm or life, as of what's available now. I have read taking baking soda is good for kidneys. Should I start this, or only of I see changes in labs?
Avatar f tn There are no data to recommend use of VIREAD tablets 150, 200 or 250 mg or VIREAD oral powder in patients with renal impairment. No dose adjustment of VIREAD tablets 300 mg is necessary for patients with mild renal impairment (creatinine clearance 50–80 mL/min). Routine monitoring of calculated creatinine clearance and serum phosphorus should be performed in patients with mild renal impairment [See Warnings and Precautions (5.3)]. 5.
Avatar m tn Hi All, I'm new on this forum and have only just recently been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B, I am 48years old. I had a liver biopsy and was told that my levels are very low (3000), that I'm lowlevel infectious and that I have no scarring. My doctor has prescribed Viread. I have read a little about the medication and learned that it contains lactose. I am lactose intolerant and am not sure what to do, I have not started taking the drug.
Avatar m tn is there any differences between Viread and Generic Viread(tenfir)?
Avatar m tn He used Baraclude (entecavir) for 2 years and was previously tested negative. However, last week one of the tests came back positive and he was prescribed Viread 300 mg. The number jump from 1 mg to 300 mg is a bit scary and he would like advice or feedback on this new medication before starting. Has anyone used this before? Anything we should be aware of?
Avatar f tn ContraVir reports data shows CMX157 more potent against HBV than Gilead Viread ContraVir Pharmaceuticals (CTRV) announced preliminary data dramatizing the unique properties of CMX157, the company's highly potent lipid prodrug of the successful antiviral drug tenofovir, or TFV. CMX157 was shown to be 60-fold more active than tenofovir against the hepatitis B virus, or HBV, based on in vitro studies.
Avatar f tn Different people have different reactions to the same medication. Kidney dysfunction is the only serious side effect of Viread, if we don't talk about the unknown long term side effect(s). It happens to 1% of the patients taking Viread. That's why a person should have his/her serum creatinine and phosphorus checked bimonthly. Are the doctors you saw liver specialists? If not, you should find a good one and talk to him/her. Also, try to educate yourself about hep B.
